On October 11th I ordered through the drive thru. The people are always great! My problem is with whomever makes my LG. Chai Latte Hot. My Chi didn't have much flavor. I didn't see any whip cream and my cup wasn't full. My passenger also had a large Carmel Mociotio Hot which also wasn't flavorful and her cup was not full. What happened? read more

My little brother wanted to order for his two older brother. The 2 orders were Carmel Macch with 4 vanilla pumps and 4 carmel pumps. The lady at the microphone in the dirve thru told him it already has vanilla. Starting an arguement for about 20 minutes. The drinks at the end only had "caramel syrup" and "no vanilla". This shouldn't have to happen. Tell your employees to get the custoker's orders right eith no questions. read more

It gets 3 stars bc its Starbucks. It looks, smells, and taste like every other Starbucks in the rest of the world... One thing I've found sets them apart--- This location is by far the slowest Starbucks I've been too. I don't understand. Wait I do. It needs more staff. Ever time it's under staffed. This store and the Mattoon illinois store are just not right. The coffee tastes like water and the espresso looks like regular coffee. The drinks are just a mess. Until people see what they are missing after using Chicago Starbucks or larger towns that aren't skimping or just more trained, they don't even realize it. Crazy. Here's my problem with Starbucks... I love to get coffee in the morning on my way to work and prefer the drive through. It will take several minutes to get through the drive through and depending on the day, you could get someone who is pleasant and cheerful or someone who appears bored and aloof. The other problems is the fact that you can enter the drive through from to entrances (off Lincoln Avenue by Walgreen's or by the street that faces County Market) so trying to even get in the drive through line is like a Hunger Games style face off between cranky, under-caffeinated people. read more

I first went in here when it opened several years ago. I was always the standard coffee with a standard Starbucks atmosphere. I stopped in and i was dismayed to find the counter person unfriendly, and didnt seem to know what she was doing. She had zero personality. The Starbucks was packed. Everybody was super friendly even though the line was long at the drive-through. I stepped inside to save a little bit of time I was greeted promptly. Bathrooms were superclean and it looks like the store was very well taken care of. It's kind of hard to read a Starbucks but this one gets an A. read more

I know that Starbucks is a chain, one which I really enjoy getting coffee at. But this particular Starbucks location is one of the best! I always enjoy going and never get bad service or drinks. I was very excited when Starbucks opened in Charleston, it is at a very reasonable distance from both Charleston and Mattoon. The drinks here are always good and I have had no trouble with the service. Also, the atmosphere is great. I highly recommend going to this Starbucks. What a wonderful starbucks - their drive through is SO fast in the mornings even when it's busy and they almost always remember their regulars names and orders. Even though it's a chain it always feels a little cozier than that for me. Their drinks are made really well and the crowd that comes in is friendly. I have always been a loyal Starbucks customer, but today just made me love this Starbucks that much more! I went in for my birthday drink and got a bakery item as well. The young man that was the cashier was SO sweet and gave me an additional discount and when he gave me my items he and the whole staff dang me happy birthday! I suck at ordering coffee but love trying new things! I came through and ordered some cold brew thing I had never tried before and I didn't like it. I did however need some caffeine, so I decided to go inside and get something more familiar. I went in and told the guy I didn't really like the coffee I chose, and he gave me a coffee I did like free! He even made me up a second cup of some new drink they were trying out. ALL FREE! I don't know what it is, but I only get the right drink maybe 1 out of every 10 visits. Either I get the wrong tea, or it's not sweetened, or I get coffee cake instead of banana bread. I go here at least once a day. I think I'm going to find someplace else in town for a tea fix. I'm tired of paying $3-$6 for the wrong drink. read more

Usually I don't have a problem at this Starbucks but I had a huge one today. First off, I ordered two drinks and two cake pops in which the total came to $11.53. The blonde girl at the window took my $20.53 and gave me $8 and some odd change, which was not the correct change but I let it slide. She gave us our drinks and we left. We were home for about 30 minutes when I realized she didn't give us our cake pops, which are actually pretty expensive if you ask me. So I ended up ultimately paying $12 for two drinks. It's not like she gave us a receipt to show proof. Very poor service today, Starbucks. read more

Typical Starbucks as far as the drinks...nothing special. As far as the staff, they are friendly (though some of the male employees can get loud when you are trying to do work, which is annoying). This is my favorite Starbucks store I've been to. I am a frequent customer here, and I love the way this one operates. For some reason, to me, it's just different than any ones I have been to. I usually don't go during busy times so I always get my drink in a timely manner (drive-thru and in the store). The employees are always very friendly and sometimes even crack jokes to make your day brighter! There's plenty of seats to choose from and, of course, free Wi-Fi. read more

Worst Starbucks ever. I went in to grab a gift certificate and there was one person ahead of me. Apparently the customer knew the staff member and she totally ignored the fact that I had been waiting for 15 MINUTES!!! I just had the craziest and most super-irritating thing happen at this Starbuck's. My husband and I were passing through today (we live about an hour away) and stopped in for coffee around 2 PM. There were several VERY PROMINENT displays and bins of their "Christmas Blend" ground coffee, coffee beans, instant coffee, etc. I took some to the counter to buy them. The counterperson said "We can't sell those to you, they aren't available yet". I said something very intelligent, like "Huh?" and he said "We can't sell those until tomorrow". I asked "Why do you have all this coffee out all over the store in all these displays if you aren't going to sell it ????" He replied "Can't sell it until tomorrow". Well we walked out. This is CRAZY, Starbucks!!! Why do you have your stores put all this coffee out and then REFUSE TO SELL IT TO PEOPLE?!?!?!? Guess I'll go to the grocery store and get Maxwell House. I like this Starbucks location. I think it is way too small, but that really isn't their fault, it's the local yokels who park themselves at a table for two hours (or more) freeloading Wi-Fi whilst nursing one drink (or taking extreme liberty with their Gold privileges). Some of the regulars do their jobs via laptop on Bux broadband, which is abusive and a bit unethical, in my opinion. Really, when all you want is fifteen minutes to sit and sip an iced coffee, these WiFi vampires get on your nerves. At any rate, the baristas are uber-friendly, personable, and overworked, especially when you consider that a lot of people around Charleston are too unsophisticated (or cheap) to tip them. Bux has healthy options for eating, like their hot oatmeal (which you can get steamed in soy milk --delish!) or the Spinach Feta Wrap with egg whites. And, if you want to treat yourself, the Petite Vanilla Bean scones are yummy. The restrooms are always clean, the cafe area is clean, too, and the baristas are well-well-versed on the whole bean coffees you can buy. read more
