TotaliTea is exactly what you'd expect - everything tea. Having graced our city 7 years ago,…read moreTotaliTea tempts downtown shoppers and executives alike from its brilliantly located boutique in Bankers Hall. Carrying all the rooibos, chai, matcha, green and oolong you could possibly need for this lifetime, TotaliTea is right up there with the other tea boutiques in town. What I especially love about TotaliTea is unlike a few of the other tea boutiques, you CAN order tea by the cup for a mere $2-$3. That way, you can sip and sight-see all at the same time!

It's in the building right next to mine and sort of hidden in the +15 network. They've got a lot of seating considering the size of most Starbucks locations downtown. The line is generally pretty short, I never have to wait more than five minutes and they're generally quick in getting drinks out. Not to mention, one of the girls took the time to ask me about the dairy allergy I'd mentioned and let me know that the drink I ordered had dairy in the syrup. She had no issues changing my order after I'd already paid for it, which was really nice, and discussed it a little with me as she has a gluten sensitivity so she can sympathize. The Roasterie is kind of like a high end coffee shop owned by hoarders. But wait... I'll just say it: in decades of loving fine espresso shots, I think they serve up the very finest I've ever had. And then I asked for a black house coffee, something with Sumatra like flavors. They recommended a blend that again, probably one of the top 10 cups of black I've consumed. Can they do it more than once? Yep, I returned a second day and they did it again. The roasting is going on inside the shop, and it's clearly run by mad men who have sold their souls to the devil of coffee. If you're looking for a scene and hipster surroundings (and hey, I like that too), move on. If you're looking for a cup of coffee to remember for a long time, this is the destination I'd recommend.

Even more reason to stay after work would be that they are licensed for beer and wine too :-) The modest selection of baked goods are obviously homemade, not some par-baked garbage you get at many coffee shops in town. The breakfast and lunch menu is quite small, but my interest was piqued by the "life changing" tuna sandwich. Will have to come back and try it!
