Great stopping place in the middle of the farmers market. Love the pour over craft coffee. Bought some coffee ground specifically for pour over to take home and enjoy. Definitely worth a pause while shopping amongst the vegetables and boutique stalls or after grabbing a bite in the food court area!

Watching this lovely concoction being made, getting serenaded while I wait for my coffee; life rules :).

The best coffee I've had in Calgary. In another life; I was a barista at a shop that roasted their own beans in-house, and I thought that was the best coffee I had ever had... but I have to say, Fratello has been slowly nudging their way in to that spot in my caffeinated heart. Not to mention, they totally put a huge dopey smile on my face when Drew, the barista broke out in to song while making my Americano misto. Pick up one of their keep cups while you're there. They're a bit spendy for a reusable mug, but it's the first reusable mug I've purchased from a café that didn't spill coffee down my sleeves, made from eco-friendly materials and dishwasher friendly.

Been going here every time we go marketing. Impressed with the delicious and consistent espresso shots being pulled here, on par with the 17th Ave branch. Love the single origin choices and The Wife likes the size of the traditional capp.

I make this my first stop every time I go to the farmers market. Best coffee in Calgary made by the most talented and friendly baristas!

Great coffee! I came across Phil & Sebastian when I visited Calgary last year, and now that I'm…read moreback in town for stampede I popped in for a visit. There's a few locations around Calgary, I believe; I visited both the location by the river and the location at Chinook Mall - the latter had donuts and they all looked amazing, but I opted for the ube and coconut which ended up being a good choice! Highly recommend if you're in Calgary.

First, I'm going to start by telling you I'm a huge P&S fan…read more 3 stars is horrendous coming from a so proclaimed "huge fan." I love the Marda Loop location, and I love that they do a Holt pop up so I can have them while I work too. But on a few recent visits to the Chinook location, I've been rethinking about this love affair. Let's break down the points: -I have yet to have a stellar cup of coffee that didn't taste.........burnt. -I appreciate the time the barista takes to make a latte leaf.....but in the rush of things it usually looks like the abstract version of the norm. -They are constantly out of grilled cheese around dinner time. -Why serve salad if it's going to be one bite worth, crammed in a ketchup cup? -Why is the front cash girl so grumpy? (Maybe this is specific to me, maybe she hates me). One thing that is completely out of their control: STROLLERS. omg it's crowded enough as it is in that small space, why are there so many strollers?! Getting nipped in the ankle by some angry mother is bad enough as it is, it's like this place is a trap for angry moms to take their anger out on people. I will endorse the business philosophy and the ideological vessel that makes this business a great success, but I really can't deal with another visit to this location. Too much disappointment here. Paid $10 for a cup of hot chocolate. Not sure what to exactly feel about this haha but it was good,…read morerich, and thick. Definitely tastes authentic. Just not the best I've had. I'll come back tho. Probably one of the best places to get hot chocolate in Calgary tho no cap Service was great. Owner was there. Super nice and friendly. Ambiance is also cute. Small place but clean and aesthetic. Overall, just great. Seemed like a place with quality.

tucked into calgary's beltline, this little french café feels like it was made for slow mornings…read moreand long catch ups. the kind of place where you instinctively lower your voice, breathe a little deeper, and feel like you've been transported straight to paris (passport not required). so we had a late start to the day, showed up around 1:30 pm on a thursday and practically had the whole place to ourselves. the space is lovely, marble tables, black and white café chairs, it's curated but not fussy. perfect for catching up with a friend, or working solo. the pastry case is a total showstopper: buttery croissants, cookies under glass domes like little museum exhibits, and viennoiseries in flavours like cinnamon kouign amann, chausson aux pommes, beautifully striped croissants with apricot & almond, and saskatoon berry. they also make house made jams to sell in fun flavours like pear & vanilla, strawberry & basil, and mango & lemongrass. we scored the tufted velvet couch in the corner, it was soft, plush, and hands down the best seat in the house. we decided to share the following: mocaccino croissant tasted stale. dense, barely any coffee flavour, and a few scattered chocolate chips. almond croissant had a generous filling of frangipane that tasted too sweet. pear & vanilla croissant was the best of the bunch, it had some layers, slight crisp on the outside, and a subtle, not too sweet filling. caffe latte and matcha were just okay. the space is a whole vibe and worth visiting for the ambiance alone. pastry wise, we were hoping for buttery, flaky goodness with a nice chewy texture and only found a spark of it in one croissant. still, if you're in the neighbourhood, the black sheep's a charming little spot to hang out, maybe just stick to the coffee and the couch.
