Our visit was great as usual! The service and employees are friendly and professional, making sure our drinks are topped off all evening. The large selection of beer has something for everyone from dark stoudts to juicy IPAs. They also have a great selection of cocktails for the non-beer drinkers.  The menu offered a variety to choose from and still reflects Shy Bear's commitment to serving  quality cuisine. The crab egg rolls were very flavorful and the Rueben was amazing. My burger was cooked perfectly and served with quality french fries.  The live music was great and provided a fun atmosphere for all.  Two words-- Jay Bird. Still the standard for all other IPAs!

The three things I look for in a brewery are an inviting outdoor space, accessibility to some good grub, and (of course) some quality beers. Big bonus if a place is dog friendly. Shy Bear easily accomplishes all three and earns a double bonus for welcoming our Doodle. The staff was great - they were packed but our hostess and waitress both made sure we were taken care of without being up-in-your-face. They understood both the food and beer menus and were able to make good suggestions. The overall atmosphere of the place was fun too - trivia night was going on while we were there and even the people who weren't playing along were obviously engaged. We had lunch not too much earlier, but we couldn't pass up trying one of the flatbreads that the waitress recommended. We were very happy that we did - just the right size and very tasty. We each got a flight of five so we got to sample a good chunk of their offerings. They had some unique variations like a cookies n cream sour and they also had some truer to original styles that I prefer - and I walked out with a four pack of their West Coast IPA to prove it. For sure I intend to try to convince Mama to go back again, get a room nearby, and sip on a few drinks outside when it's warmer - even though it's about a two hour trip! My rating scale: 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here

They have a great product, but their deliberation and ordering system is chaotic and frustrating: all the offerings are scattered across several posterboards and smaller pieces of paper taped willy-nilly to the windows, and they are liable to be out of half of what you ask for. They need a single, comprehensive menu board and better inventory management skills. BUT--the stuff that comes out of the window is really good. I can vouch for the chocolate, the toasted coconut, and the chocolate-covered pretzel flavors, not to mention the s'mores sundae. Oh, plus they give free roasted peanuts with an order. And they even gave a free little dish of vanilla frozen yogurt to my brother's dog!

Like most stands, you can have it in a cone or bowl. They even do doggie bowls for the canine members of the family. The banana split is highly recommended. They also have a great variety of sundaes and shakes. On top of this, they have a decent selection of PA homestyle comfort foods. The special change often so watch for that. I bought chicken corn soup off of them and it was just how it should be. The right amount of everything in there. My hope is that the locals will keep supporting this place as it is a solid mom and pop shop. You don't find that as often as you use to. I recommend a stop, if you are in the electric avenue area. It is right up the street from the on/off ramp for 322 and several red lights from Mcdonalds. Easy to get to.

The pizza reminded me of the square-shaped Grandma's pizza. Just the right amount of Italian lseasoning, robust sauce, and creamy cheese. Service was fast. The decor is homey. Super-nice, veteran-friendly staff! Love this restaurant. With a full menu that combines homestyle favorites such as open-faced roast beef and pizza, this place is a gem!

The team was always a welcome guest with Vince, the pizza is ALMOST the same. (It USED TO BE when ordering pepperoni you got one pepperoni per slice, that has changed so for the good!) We got a party pizza for take out and one is going to feed 4 big boys. The only catch is that pizza cost $35 where I can get 4 large pizzas at a competitor for about $28. Quality is good though and reminds me of a "Deep Deep Dish" from another place that is no longer in State College (which was the closest location). Several reviews question wait staff (we didn't have that with take out) BUT take out "waiting area" is now limited to a single chair when it WAS a row of about 6 before. Is that due to "social distancing" in 2021? Idk but we all rode together....it would have been nice to wait on our order together. Check out staff WAS on point though and got asked more than once after paying if we were waited on. I DID forget to check my time to see if their wait time was accurate (sorry) but it didn't seem out of line anyways (if they were over it was minor). BTW this was a Sunday after church so they were SLAMMED!
