Similar to other locations, it has welcoming Americana theming throughout and signature blue tiles on the floor. We went with the cookies & cream and raspberry pistachio donuts. As opposed to my prior experience with Parlor Doughnuts where they were prepared fresh, this location seems to have prepped a supply earlier in the day with a selection on display available for purchase. Both were great donuts, but lacked the texture as you bit into them that I had with my prior experience that put the donuts in the "next level" category for me. They also didn't provide the signature donut boxes, as they simply handed us a bag when we asked for a to-go box. Service wasn't all that warm & friendly or quick here, but still an overall good donut experience for me such that I look forward to visiting Parlor Doughnuts on my future travels.

The place seemed to have a bit of an identity crisis with a separate pottery painting area in the back, but I suppose that's only practical to make multiple uses of the space given this historic core of Altoona seems to have fallen on hard times and doesn't have much going for it. The iced mocha (3.5/5) I got was decent with only minor hints of bitterness, but was otherwise quite average. I'm happy to round up as the service was pleasant and I'm happy to support a small local business. I'd recommend The Clay Cup to those looking for a decent coffee shop in downtown Altoona.

Allegheny Creamery & Crepes is a delight to the senses: eyes, nose and tastebuds alike. Stepping…read moreinside is like taking a step back in time, yet without sacrificing any modern comforts. From the artsy décor to the extensive menu to the helpful staff, this restaurant does not disappoint. If you're looking for sweet treats or savory bites, you'll turn to your left and enter the café, where you can peruse the wall menu for breakfast crepes, dessert crepes, savory crepes, salads, sandwiches and more. If you're in the mood for cocktails, you'll turn to your right and enter a beautifully appointed bar room with a prohibition-era vibe. After placing your food and drink orders, you can either dine downstairs in the bar room or café, or you can make your way upstairs to the spacious dining rooms and enjoy the ambiance of gothic chandeliers, ornate ceilings, antique furniture and an abundance of natural light. In warmer weather, you can even dine outside on the backyard patio. I ordered a veggie breakfast crepe with scrambled eggs, sliced avocado, mushrooms, heirloom tomatoes and spinach. The veggies were fresh and flavorful, and the eggs were just the right texture and consistency. I requested certain omissions (no cheese and no onions), which they were happy to accommodate. I appreciate that the staff are willing to cater to diners with dietary restrictions. They will do whatever they can to accommodate your preferences whenever possible. The staff were pleasant and professional; from the counter staff to the servers to the bussers, everyone was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Tables were quickly bussed and turned around for the next guests, the dining rooms were kept clean and spotless, the staff were attentive and accommodating, and the wait time was minimal. My only complaint is that drinks are not delivered to the table with your meal order. If you want a drink, you must go to the bar yourself to pick it up. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but tableside drink service would make the dining experience more convenient for the customer. All in all, Allegheny Creamery & Crepes is worth the visit if you ever find yourself in downtown Hollidaysburg. I highly recommend.
