Yes, Starbucks makes sugary drinks but if you like "coffee", Starbucks is the only place in Altoona that gets good quality beans, roasts them for consistent flavor and has properly trained baristas that make coffee for people who actually like coffee. Large modern building with a couple of comfy rooms to hang out in including one with a (faux) fireplace that was lit! Altoona is lucky to have this marvelous "third place" right heere in the city. Plus added bonus is there's plenty of parking in their back lot.

Similar to other locations, it has welcoming Americana theming throughout and signature blue tiles on the floor. We went with the cookies & cream and raspberry pistachio donuts. As opposed to my prior experience with Parlor Doughnuts where they were prepared fresh, this location seems to have prepped a supply earlier in the day with a selection on display available for purchase. Both were great donuts, but lacked the texture as you bit into them that I had with my prior experience that put the donuts in the "next level" category for me. They also didn't provide the signature donut boxes, as they simply handed us a bag when we asked for a to-go box. Service wasn't all that warm & friendly or quick here, but still an overall good donut experience for me such that I look forward to visiting Parlor Doughnuts on my future travels.

The space has a nice feel to it -- cozy inside, a small bar, and a lovely courtyard with outdoor seating out back. It's a relaxed, welcoming spot that's easy to settle into. The menu covers both sweet and savory crepes, so there's something for everyone. We kept it simple and just had crepes stuffed with savory items and tea, but everything was delicious. The crepes were fresh and well made, and the tea was a nice touch. It's the kind of place we'll definitely be coming back to. It might even become a regular stop on future college runs. If you're in the area, it's well worth checking out.

The place seemed to have a bit of an identity crisis with a separate pottery painting area in the back, but I suppose that's only practical to make multiple uses of the space given this historic core of Altoona seems to have fallen on hard times and doesn't have much going for it. The iced mocha (3.5/5) I got was decent with only minor hints of bitterness, but was otherwise quite average. I'm happy to round up as the service was pleasant and I'm happy to support a small local business. I'd recommend The Clay Cup to those looking for a decent coffee shop in downtown Altoona.

I have never ordered from dunkin, i've ordered from many different places and they are always good, I decided to try some from dunkin and specifically this dunkin. They are god awful, they don't taste like chai at all, either they are just watered down or they taste straight up like milk. I have gave them many chances to make me a chai latte that is enjoyable and still they can't seem to do it. Sure Dunkin is good at coffee and food but when it comes to chai or having special requests to add into drinks they suck, i'm super disappointed. They don't pay attention when making drinks they add whatever they please, they substituted my chai with coffee, skip in cold foam after you pay extra for the damn cold foam. They claim the whole goal is to get the orders out in a certain time but they fail to get it out as fast as they say and it's more than likely incorrect.
