Absolutely perfect combination and perfect amount of buttery lettuce, grilled chicken, creamy avocado, crunchy jalapeño, and cheddar cheese with avocado ranch to top it off. I also ordered a lavender lemonade which came in this super fun deli container. However, fun reigned over flavor... even with the abundance of sliced lemons in the container it lacked lemon flavor. Additionally, as a lavender lover, I could barely detect even a hint of lavender. The undissolved sugar at the bottom was also a let down. The donuts are delectable and incredibly inexpensive! Employees are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is quite clean and delightful. Definitely a place I'll be back! (Just maybe not for lemonade)

The place seemed to have a bit of an identity crisis with a separate pottery painting area in the back, but I suppose that's only practical to make multiple uses of the space given this historic core of Altoona seems to have fallen on hard times and doesn't have much going for it. The iced mocha (3.5/5) I got was decent with only minor hints of bitterness, but was otherwise quite average. I'm happy to round up as the service was pleasant and I'm happy to support a small local business. I'd recommend The Clay Cup to those looking for a decent coffee shop in downtown Altoona.
