The store itself underwent a remodel of some sort about a year or so ago and yet it looks in need of an update already. The cashier is usually pretty nice and helpful depending on who it is but the store never feels clean. The selection of products seems to be pretty limited compared to what it was about a year ago as well. I used to stop in here quite a bit but rarely stop in for anything other than fuel anymore. With them being on a corner along with two other fuel stops I just find what I need elsewhere.

I LOVE being able to get a million toppings or mix together 5 different fro yo flavors without dealing with the embarrassment of trying to explain everything to a confused ice cream server. Menchie's in Lima is small but super cute and clean on the inside and easy to understand: grab a bowl, fill it with whatever and however much you want, and then weigh it and pay (I believe the sign said 52 cents plus tax per ounce). I filled my cup with fat free banana fro yo (creamy and smooth with a nice subtle flavor) and some of the low fat pecan praline no sugar added fro yo (so good!). Both tasted great and were just as good as any ice cream I've had, so it's awesome that it's all fat free or at least low in fat. That helps, especially when you load it up at the buffet of fatty toppings they offer: crushed candy bars, cereals, marshmallows, chocolate out the wazoo, whip and several name brand syrups (they also have some fresh looking fruits to choose from, but where's the fun in that?!). I tried to keep mine simple and just got a few iced animal crackers (my favorite) and a huge mountain of Cool Whip on top. Tasted so good on a hot summer's day and the total for mine and my husband's huge sundaes was less than $9 and worth every single penny. So glad this little tasty gem is in Lima and we'll definitely be hitting them up regularly from now on!

Professional Complaint Letter Subject: Urgent Complaint…read moreRegarding Harassment and Verbal Abuse by Store Employee - Ruler Foods (Date: Jan 22, 2026) To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report a serious incident that occurred at your Ruler Foods location on January 22, 2026, at approximately 6:15 PM. I have been a long‑time customer, and I have never experienced anything as disrespectful, hostile, or unprofessional as what took place during this visit. I attempted to purchase a pack of pretzels that was displayed for $4.00, but it scanned at $6.99. I informed the clerk, Matt Munier, who went to check the price. He confirmed that the sign showed $4.00 but stated it was "in the wrong location" and refused to honor the displayed price. When I asked to speak to the manager, he claimed he was the manager and walked away. Another clerk, Helen Robinson‑Godsey, approached and asked if I needed assistance. As I explained the situation, Matt walked by and loudly stated that I "must have been drinking," which is completely false and inappropriate. Helen then called the Assistant Store Manager, Lydia Tenwalde, who corrected the issue and honored the displayed price. As I was leaving, Matt stepped away from his register and began yelling multiple derogatory names at me, including calling me several types of "bitches" in front of other customers. He then escalated the situation further by saying, "When I become manager, you Black bitch, you'll be the first one not allowed back in this store." This was racially charged harassment, verbal abuse, and a direct threat of discrimination. Other customers witnessed the incident and were visibly upset by his behavior. I requested that Assistant Manager Lydia contact the Store Manager, Chris, but he refused to come in. I am requesting the following: 1. A full investigation into the conduct of Matt Munier 2. Appropriate disciplinary action 3. Confirmation that customers will be protected from this type of harassment 4. Follow‑up communication regarding the outcome No customer should ever be subjected to this level of disrespect, hostility, or racial abuse in your store. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and addressed promptly. Thank you for your attention. Sincerely, Rita M. Totty Lima, Ohio Ritatotty12@gmail.com
