My husband will be out of town for a couple of weeks, so he hired this lawn service to mow our lawn. They did not show up to do the scheduled work. They did not return my calls when I tried to find out why they did not come. I would not recommend them. THEY ARE UNDEPENDABLE! Rating them even one star is too much. Called to hire them for lawn maintenance. Had a gentlemen named Bill come out to look at the property and said he would have an estimate back to me in a few days. It has now been 2 weeks and have never heard back from them since that time. I was in the business for 35 years and if you can not rely on a company to get back to you with an estimate then how can you trust them to care for you property especially when you are not there. read more

This is a very bad company. They overcharge you up the kazoo, demand you sign a contract with them so they get guaranteed work, (the recent one forces you to agree to pay for their truck's gas to go service you!) then they want you to pay half the deposit for the shady quote they give you or they won't take you on at all. Once you do all of this, they: Don't show up to do the work for a long time (and way past what is reasonable). Don't answer the phone. Don't call you back if you leave a message, especially if you are upset with them. And when they finally do show up the crew doesn't do everything you wanted and paid them to do. The current office staff is also very rude and the girl Bonnie will screw you over. So to sum it up, DON'T DEAL WITH THEM and find somebody else because quite bluntly they don't give a damn about their customers at all, especially the owner. I had a large patio put as well as a walk from the driveway to the front of the house. It was also necessary to re use the grade of the yard to deflect runoff. Starboardside also put in dry wells to help drainage. it all came in on time and well within budget read more

I used this company twice and will NEVER use them again. Heads up - Their written estimates are not guarantees of what they will charge you. There is print on the bottom of their estimates, that says 'estimate may change'..so don't depend on their estimates, they're not reliable. The first time their foreman came to the house and gave me an estimate of $50 to plow my driveway. They billed me $100. I called them and they grudgingly rebilled me for $50. I thought, okay, not a big deal, people make mistakes. I called them again for a spring clean up. Their foreman came to the house and we spoke about what I needed and didn't need for a spring clean up. The estimate came in the mail listing all the things that I said I didn't need with a very large price attached to it. I called the office and asked for another estimate without all of the things that I don't need. It came back with a more reasonable price of what I could afford so I paid half of the estimate for a deposit. They billed me for $65 over the estimate. When I called them, they pointed out that the estimates may change, like it says on the written estimate. Well it would have been nice if the foreman who I believe was the owner had pointed that out when he came to look at my property. They did take $25 off the price..so now I'm paying $40 over the estimate. On top of it all, their job was messy and I found broken solar lamps and broken slate tile when they left..they were not careful in the least. I also have a side lot that I had asked for an estimate for..they came back with $300 to clear it for me. I thought $300 was a lot so I didn't hire them to do it. I found another company who were happy to do it for $147 and they did not break anything... I think this company does not do good work and trys to rip you off if given the chance. read more

If you are a small customer they will do everything they can to to get the job done as quickly as possible, try to get more money out of you if they can, and then they move on. Jeff will make promises to get the job and then not follow through unless it's on the contract, so if you use them make sure every little thing is specified in the contract. Personally I dont have the time to chase people to make sure things are done right and will be finding another landscaper, there are a ton of choices on the Cape. My neighbor had the same experience. I wish I could give this company 2 ratings. The workmanship was great. Very satisfied. Hard working men especially the foreman. BUT. Before the work was started we were quoted 350.00 for a clean up. AFTER the work was done, we received a call that the job was more than they anticipated and our final bill was now 450. One hundred more than we agreed to. Okay fine, we paid they did a good job. The following spring we get emailed a contract (with no price) for another spring clean up. So we sign it and return it because they did such a good job last year. They come and do their job. We get a bill now for 550.00! Okay totally our fault for not asking the price as we assumed it would be once again 450. Not once but twice they increased our original amount by 100.00! Never again. The owners apparently seem to only be out to take advantage of their customers. So if you deal with them sign a contract that has the price in writing only or beware! read more

We spent several thousands of dollars (more than $8K) on landscaping--trees, perennials, new sod, bushes and in-ground sprinkler system--and we could not be any more disappointed with the results. It's hard to see where the money went. We're not landscaping experts, which is why we hired a company to help us. It's apparent that there was no planning or design sense that went into this project. We should have backed off using them at the early stage but we had committed the money and are options were limited. We only wished we had cut our losses and run! The plants and other flora were scattered about without any rhyme or reason. It looks like a child did the job. They skimped at every possible corner. The plants were small and scraggly--some trees died within days of being planted. The mulch was so thin it hardly lasted the season. We had to keep having them come back to fix all sorts of problems (for example, some trees were planted at an angle; and they planted a large birch on top of our septic even though we told them that that was not what we wanted). Any smart landscaper knows that planting a tree over a septic system is a no-no. We've hired landscapers for two of our previous houses that we were very happy with, so perhaps our expectations were we would be getting the same quality of service. This has been an unhappy experience--one that disappoints even two springs later. I strongly advise not hiring them. They seem to mean well, but the project manager and employees do not have a clue on what they are doing. read more

I trust this review will go public where as the public has a right to know. The contracted service provided was not fulfilled. When I contacted the office (which was 3 occasions) I was promised that a foreman would review the property and get back to me. He or she did not. Three months after the original contract was agreed upon and the date of said service was performed we were contacted for an outstanding balance. I informed the office of the problem, the service was not completed in fact we as the family had to complete it ourselves. Before and after pictures were sent to us in which did show what had been done by the 2 young men in 4 hours however, according to the contract the job was far from complete. So, based on the contract agreed to and the service performed was not completed and the fact you want the balance remitted we are very displeased with your service and the way we have been treated by your office is deplorable. We would not recommend your service to any one. read more
