I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good bed and a tasty breakfast. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful about the train system and bus routes. Rooms were clean and tidy. Old Victorian house which means lots of stairs, no elevator, but nice furnishings. Breakfast was very good and top notch. The B&B is next to the Grassmarket area and 15 minute walk from Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, and the train station. Upstairs room on backside of house has a view of the Castle. Rooms on the front of the house were quiet, too. Shower on ground floor with toilets on other floors. Neighbourhood is ok; I walked back at night several times with no issues. Several times I was going to be leaving very early prior to normal breakfast hours and owner had the cold (ie cereal or fruit or both) breakfast tray outside the room in the morning with my order. Cold milk, cereal, hot tea, sports drink, sandwich crackers, fruit, granola bars... most which went with me for nibbling during the day. Very accommodating. The room key doubled as an outer door key to get back in after hours. read more
