I've had the almost EXACT experience as Chelsea P. below. DO NOT USE STAR RELOCATION SERVICES! They used LD movers which is a company that is being sued and has an F with the Better Business Bureau. They destroyed my two computer monitors that I paid almost $600 for even after they "boxed" them to keep them safe which they charged me for. I spoke with Anna and she was helpful in connecting me with the claims department that they use for damaged or missing items and it's been 2 MONTHS and I've not heard one thing from these people regarding this. AVOID this company. USE ANY OTHER COMPANY even if they charge a bit more because it's not worth losing important items or having a serious loss like I did. Truly a nightmare. I spoke to Anna several months ago to get a quote for my move. All was well, and I put down a deposit. Because of COVID, I asked to push my move back a bit. I got an email confirming the new date was fine. Today (5 days before my confirmed move date), I get an email from Anna that they will have to change my move date. She mistakenly said it was fine for me to have my things picked up on Labor Day, but they had no one willing to do it. She had overlooked it being a holiday when she confirmed the date worked. Instead of being apologetic or understanding, she was quite curt and said "well sometimes things happen". I asked for alternatives. She said she would get back to me on dates they COULD do. Instead of calling me back, I get an email saying that my deposit has been refunded and then a text saying they couldn't make any alternatives work. At the very least, Anna could have followed up with a phone call. I get it. Things happen. But there was no apology. No attempt to go above and beyond to fix the mistake. If you have the choice to use Star Relocation for your move, or use ANY other moving company, DO NOT USE STAR RELOCATION INC!! My experience has been horrendous from start to finish. I worked with Anna to put together a quote in May. I specifically asked her, "Will we be using your movers or are we dealing with a third party?" Anna assured me that the movers were THEIR movers, but this was clearly not the case. Anna's information was incorrect. Not only were we dealing with a third party moving company, but she was incorrect in many of the quoted prices, and even included the incorrect date for our move. She stated that our deposit would be $150, when it was in fact $450. She stated that the company would provide free plastic to cover our mattress, but we ended up paying for this as well. We ended up paying hundreds of dollars more than the moving quote, even though we had less items than discussed in the estimate. I can easily excuse the extra money spent, but I couldn't have even imagined what would come next. The movers showed up for our cross-country move on July 15th, but instead of Star Relocation, it was a company called LD Moving and Storage. Everything went fine with the pick up, aside from the additional $400 they charged us. Again, we weren't too bothered by this, as it's a common occurrence when dealing with movers. Little did we know, LD would transfer our items to a different moving truck for the actual move. When they showed up to drop off our items, there were 2 men, one of which was one of the rudest people I have ever had to deal with. Our boxes arrived crushed and damaged. They completely tore off 2 legs of an office desk. There was a mysterious black liquid on some of the boxes, which seeped inside. Glasses broken, wardrobe boxes completely crushed. They charged us $800 more for a long carry and extra stairs because the new truck couldn't fit into our apartment complex driveway. This is far from the worst of it all. After a stressful couple of hours, the movers left, leaving behind a big suitcase that wasn't ours, so we called them to pick it up. The movers wanted us to bring THEM the suitcase...LOL. Then we realize that we are missing a HUGE 6-drawer dresser full of clothes and other items. We also found that we were missing a box of electronics, including a speaker, apple tv, and more. All of these items amount to about $4000. The mover tells us that they probably left the dresser at the warehouse in California and we will have to wait until Monday to contact them (it was Saturday). We call Star Relocation and speak to a manager who states that there is nothing they can do about the missing items and that I need to reach out to LD moving and storage because they are the ones that moved our items. I call LD and get yelled at my Ziggy, who states that he will call us back in a week with an update as to where our items are. Two weeks later and we haven't heard anything regarding our missing items. It's now been almost 3 weeks. I've called Star Relocation at least 10 times and sent many emails, and have received ZERO responses. They clearly don't care what happens to their clients' items, and their complete lack of assistance and fraudulent behavior has led us to seek federal assistance from the FMCSA. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY! Do not trust Star Relocation with your personal belongings. This company completely lacks morals and throws you into the hands of companies that have no respect for you or you move. They'll get paid and more, when they drive away with your expensive items. Do not use this company! Find someone else. I know that those words sound harsh but sit down get comfortable and let me tell you about our experience with Star Relocation. We were planning a move to Illinois. We had called around got estimates and in speaking with Anna Green decided to go with this company. We booked and made a deposit on June 3, 2020. Our move was scheduled for August 17, 2020. She told us everything we wanted to hear and made us feel like we had made the best choice. As the weeks went by we had not gotten a confirmation date even though we knew we would be starting our drive from California on August 17th. Finally a week before our departure date we finally get confirmation that the movers were coming. The movers were scheduled to be there on Sunday the 16th. Now even though we booked almost 2 months before they couldn't pick up the furniture etc until the day before our departure. It was annoying but what could we do? Anna assured us they would be here that Sunday definitely. Sunday comes and we are waiting and waiting. The movers had confirmed that they were on another job but would be there by 1000. That time comes and goes. So we call them and we're told it wouldn't be until 200 pm. We have not eaten and don't have any food in the house because remember we are leaving the next morning. We ran down to our little eatery and still haven't gotten the call they are on their way. So while we are picking up our food I get a call from one of the loaders who tells us the job they were on is taking longer than they expected so it may be even later. We are in a bad situation because we are scheduled to leave the next morning. I tell them okay we will be home waiting for them. We've made reservations etc so it has to be picked up today cause we are leaving in the morning. Before we can even get all the way home the supervisor on the move calls and says he doesn't know if they can make it today the job they are on is bigger than they expected. I tell him we are leaving in the morning. We have transferred jobs, made reservation at hotels on our drive so we need this stuff picked up tonight!. So an Israel tells me they will call me in an hour to let me know. The next thing I get is a text stating they are not coming today they will come in the morning around 10. By this time I am livid. I'm calling Anna, Israel, someone to answer my questions. We are pulling out at 6am the next morning what do we do?!?! I am not happy about the whole situation so I go on Yelp and leave a tentative review which I state will be completed and updated when the move is finished. I'm calling and texting Anna luke crazy cause now what do we do? Around 8pm we get a friend who agrees to supervise move so we can get on the road bright and early the next morning. Lay down and try to get some sleep..... Next morning we're up bright and early. Loading up the car and getting ready to hit the road. I'm putting suitcases in the car everything is loaded, we are ready to hit the road. Go back inside the house pick up my phone and there is a text from Israel stating they are not coming and that our move was canceled!!!!! WHAT??? WHAT?????? I can't believe what I'm reading. We are panicking. We call Anna. No answer. We text Anna. No response. Finally get ahold of Israel who tells us Anna called him last night and canceled our move!!! I'm speechless, my wife is crying. Its a mess!!! We can't stay. We've given notice to our apartment, our jobs etc. We are begging Israel who tells us its up to Star Relocation/Anna. At about 830 am we receive an email from Anna. She canceled our move because of my review on Yelp!! What?!?! We can't believe it!! All I stated was that this was a review in progress. That as of right now I'm not sure i made the right decision but I'll update my review after the movers came. I was hot, tired and frustrated so I don't think my review was as bad as it could've been. So now we are BOTH calling and texting Anna. No response. I even take review down. Still no response. So on the day of our move we are stuck trying to find new movers. I cannot believe she canceled our move because if my review. If they were doing a great job. Mt review would reflect that but they weren't. I have included the email and the text messages. If the price seems too good to be true it is! We booked 2 months ahead but they couldn't even get to us on time! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! PAY THE EXTRA MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE. Rock Solid & Honest! Anna and her staff were helpful and professional. After providing an approximate estimate based on our observations, they sent an estimator over to survey all our possessions. Anna revised her proposal (which was a little higher) with a "not to exceed" moving cost. This is an invaluable service after reading many horror stories of owners having to pay "ransom" to get their items off the truck because of unforeseen costs. They even offered to come and give us a final estimate once everything was boxed and ready to ship to see if we could save us a little more. Unfortunately moving interstate (in our case Texas) has it's drawbacks. All movers can only provide an ETA of between 3 to 10 business days of when your furniture will arrive. Anyone who tells you otherwise isn't being truthful. Thankfully, Anna went out of her way to make me aware of this knowing my tight schedule. We are ending up doing a self-move, but we're still moving my autos through Star Relocation. Highly recommended!! read more

I received attentive service from the booking to the movers; everything was handled carefully & I had no broken pieces to deal with. Terrible customer service. They are just a broker but they work with terrible companies such as L.D. Moving And Storage Inc. When you ask why your stuff has not been shipped in 21 days they say "Oh we only coordinate, you need to talk to LD" and avoid responsibility. I don't know how they got over 4 stars but it has been 21 days but I didn't get any update about the delivery of my stuff. I am trying to live in an empty apartment waiting for Star Relocation and LD Storage to honor the contract. They never told me that they were going to send me a company that would take my belongings hostage. Folks, pay more but work with companies that you can trust so you don`t end living in an empty apartment for this long. read more

I just moved my auntie with these movers and OMG I'm so happy I chose them they were really good. I was so nervous because my aunt had never moved before and she entrusted me with setting up her moving arrangements. I really didn't have any idea what to expect lots of other companies bad mouthing each other I just really hoped for the best. Anna the girl who helped me was such a sweetheart. A friend of mine recommended this company. I just used them recently and everything went really well so I thought it was fair to write a review about my experience. Anna was the person who assisted me with the process. We needed to move a piano and a couple of cabinets out of a job site for my dad's construction business. Came a day early to pick up. (Inconvenient) charged an extra $200 for an supposedly 25csf (just assumed not measured) it's been over 3 weeks and still haven't received my furniture. Driver keeps having issues. I've been given 4 days of estimated delivery dates still nothing. Now their truck is marked out of service because of a mechanical issue. Anna is the only person I've ever talked too with the broker service so I'm assuming it's a one person business. She didn't explain how long it really takes, doesn't answer the phone and didn't even reply to my texts about the issues. Truck company they are using is Texas top movers. This company does NOT care about you, they did the same exact thing to so many people i should've NEVER used them!! They handed me off to LD moving and storage and those people will literally upcharge you almost double the quote and try to leave half your stuff, their excuse is always, oh well your stuff is bulky, no sorry im not some rare case who had everything too bulky. As of right now LD moving and storage is basically holding my stuff hostage and forcing me to pay more then my original CONTRACT amount and saying if i don't pay up now I'll owe more money for their "free" storage that's never really free. Bottom line is they will both sweet talk you until move day then when you're out of options and they know that, they'll stick you with a huge bill, they seriously went from a 2k contract to over 4,000$ on move day cause i had a few more "bulky" items, even though they LEFT OVER HALF MY LIST BEHIND, so they took half the stuff and still want to charge me almost 1,000$ over the quoted amount. My family might have to go without our stuff because I'm being strong armed by this company, who is completely ignoring me now, and won't even try to make things right. And LD moving and storage made a HUGE mistake and at first they were super sorry but now are saying no mistake was made, i can't wait for this to all be over and i will pursue this until i feel enough people hear about these companies!!!! read more
