1 star just because the others seemed friendly. I went in there showing them my inspo picture and they told me they could do it. I asked for something simple just a pink base with chrome. I understand that charging extra for chrome is normal for most places. I didn't mind that, i still tipped after the horrible experience. My nails look like they've been done by a toddler the sides and messy and some of my nails are even bumpy... that's not the worst part. The lady who did my nails was upset that i bumped my nail while putting it in the uv light... she proceeded to say something in another language and started buffing my nail very aggressively.... to the point that she cut me and i started bleeding.. it was so painful.... she then started to clean the blood on the side of my nails with her FINGERNAIL.... i was so upset at this point that i wanted to cry and leave. but i let her finish... i left very upset and know I WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS PACE. Payed 44$ for horrible work and a horrible experience. DO NOT RECOMMEND. and i also tipped her 4$ despite me being so angry. read more

I kept having to call and reschedule my appointment and still showed up late and they didn't mind at all. The lady I had was patient with me, and I was indecisive, she helped me decide what would look better for my nails! The lady J had was considerate and allowed me to be on my phone, encouraging me to move the phone per side she was working on. The final products also came out beautifully! They have so many stickers and prints for nails and are able to do designs. Lastly, the atmosphere is a vibe, as they passed me a chair to put my purse on and tv played for entertainment. read more

Owner replied to my review and lied like I knew she would. Bottom line is if you want people to pay first let them know as soon as they walk in not after you tell me to pick a color, sit in the spa chair, fill the water up to the top, and my feet are soaked. That makes no sense and she's lying because like I said my aunt came here for her first time and you guys didn't tell her she had to pay first. I came 3 days later and all of a sudden I have to pay first?? You're racist bottom line. You make up rules as you go along for whoever walks in at the time. They were very professional and clean. I saw them open new packs of clippers and tools with each treatment. Loni was very gentle with my hang nail for my manicure ($20) and I haven't had any issues with it since then. Jason was also very good with my pedicure. I prefer a woman for my pedicure, but I did not mind Jason. The prices were very reasonable for the services that they provided. They have massage chairs. The privacy between customers was good as well with the glass shields between clients. Jason was able to clean out my cuticles and remove the extra nail/skin in my toe nails very gently. It has been way too long, but I'm glad I went. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would go back again for the affordable prices. Make sure you get the sugar scrub and callous removal for your pedicure! ($35) You can't beat $55 for a quality manicure and pedicure. Thanks! read more

Omg!!! This is by far my favorite nail salon in the AV now. My mom and I went here on a whim cause my mom and I were both unsatisfied with how our nails came out after getting them done last week! I saw on yelp that this place had pretty good ratings, and we were in the same plaza having lunch. So glad we did. Melissa and her husband Jason are the sweetest people. So very welcoming and held great conversations with both my mother and I. We talked about traveling, cuisine, and even found we used to live in the same area years ago. They offered both water and coffee to every customer that walked in. Customer service is the first thing I look for when going to nail salons, second is quality of the work. As for our nails, we love them. Melissa listened to what I wanted exactly, and executed just that. My mom is super picky when she gets hers done, but Melissa did her nails sooo well. My mom is obsessed with them. My pedicure was done great. I'm very particular about my feet being clean and another employee did them amazingly. My feet are super soft and look so cute. They have a huge selection of colors, both gel, powder and regular. I've found my new nail spot and will be referring all of my friends here. read more

I went here for a pedicure and a lady that could barely speak English, cut my nails down so low to the point they are in pain. She cut in between my nails and created it to where when they grow back, they will pierce my skin and create ingrown nails. I have never gotten a pedicure and been in pain. I am almost afraid to do a review because as you all are aware the owner doesn't own up to her mistakes and gets super defensive. I went for a set of acrylics and pedicure. My issue is after about 4 hours my acrylic chipped. I call and the man Jason said to come in and they'll fix it. He says I can only do 6 pm or 12 so I said no I live far he said ok don't worry come in. So I go in thinking they're gonna fix it. Well she was busy doing someone else's nails and this is when I realized only ONE person can do acrylics in this place. He proceeds to take the acrylic off by trying to rip it off. How's this even normal? Then when he realizes he can't he calls Melissa over and she puts another tip over the chipped one. Then he starts putting acrylic over and leaves it super uneven. I ask her to check she then tells him how to fix it but he cannot ! When I went to wash my hands she told another customer that After 3 years her husband cannot do acrylics! Then she tells me that they chipped because I chose a thin and short nail! Yes I said short but never did I say thin. So in the end I was left with not only one messed up nail but two! I am not a person to complain or put people on blast but this is not acceptable . Please do not come here and listen to the other people who have had a bad experience here. Ok she replied to me and now all I have to say is they're liars too! Never did she say Jason didn't know how to do acrylics before I drove back! I asked her for ombré originally and she said no because it wouldn't look right with short nails! Well guess what I went to Beth's Nails in Canyon country and they gave me exactly what I wanted ! My first time at Star Nails. I recently moved to Palmdale area and am looking for a new nail place. Melissa was gentle and personable. My nails look ok, they are a little shorter then I wanted them to be but satisfied with the end result. I will know more when they grow out and if they last. I have never been soo unhappy with a set of nails in my life. She put so much bail polish it weighed down on the sides. She messed up on one nail and just kept applying coats on nail polish trying to fix it. She calms shes been doing nails for over 20 years and it doesn't show. I'm surprised this place has bad reviews. I'm visiting my grandma here in Palmdale and my mom and I came here to get our nails done during our vacation. The ladies in here are really sweet and they're so cute! They have a lot of selection for different colors and most of their nail polish are organized by brand. The place is fairly clean and it has very nice decor. Most of the places I go to have super hot towels/water but the people here made sure to see if my mom and I were comfortable with the temperatures of them.
