Also she did thick coats and fewer coats than I normally get at other places. After a few days four of them were chipping. I went back for a fix. And he filed them down and put a top coat on them and said he fixed it. They chipped again in a day or so. I came in to get a basic fill. My nails were already coffin shape. The tech asked what shape I wanted. I told him the same shape. He started filling my nails and nicked my skin three times making me bleed. I should have left after this...He used a very wide brush for my fill making my nails look like a wide shovel. He started filing to bring them in a little more narrow. When I asked about coffin and shape, he told me they were. I said no they are not. And he insisted they were. When I went to pay, I was charged $60 and I asked him why and he told me because I wanted coffin shape. My nails were already coffin shape when I came in. I left there with little shovels on my nails. There are wide and I have three fingers that were cut from this tech. I will not go back. I went for a gel dip manicure. Peter was my manicurist. He also works the front counter and seemed very distracted with that since the salon was quite busy. To start, he did not remove the polish I had on. He almost used acrylic, instead of the dip power I had asked for. He was very rushed though the entire manicure and seemed to cut many corners. (Wiped my nails with USED paper towels, didn't not clean the nail clippings off the station of the previous client, poured old, chunky nail polish into a new bottle). He was very rough and the manicure was extremely painful. I was also very disappointed with the color. I do not believe it was the color I had picked out originally. I had chosen an opaque light pink. The color that was applied looked clear-- as if I had not even had color on. I was charged $50 for the manicure. (The pricing on the wall has the full set of gel dip listed as $45) After walking to my car, I got a good look at my manicure. I have gotten gel dip in the past, and the nails have never been as thick as they had been done by Peter. The nails were uneven and jagged on the sides. I went back in and asked if we could fix the nails, or at least make them thinner! Peter had started with another client so he sent me to Lynn. Lynn was wonderful! She took her time, double checked her work, and apologized for the work done by Peter. Peter walked past and made a comment about having to make the nails so thick so they wouldn't break, and if I wanted them any thinner they will all break off tomorrow. (Guarantee they won't-- still some of the thickest nails I've ever had.) The nails still do not look great, and I will be removing them tomorrow, but I appreciate Lynn working so hard to fix them. She noticed all the same things I had noticed and apologized again for not being able to fix them any better because of how poorly of a job Peter had done. I spent a total of two hours here. If you do decide to go here, I would schedule an appointment ahead of time and ask specifically for Lynn or any of the other women. Everyone who I saw leave was happy and had beautiful nails. I stopped in for a pedicure and was okay with the wait, they were very busy and I understood. However, my pedicure was not good at all. Everything was out of order, normally I soak my feet for a while and then they try to take off the callus'. Instead she tried to scrape at my feet dry, and trimmed my toes and then TOOK THE NAIL CLIPPER TO THE SIDE OF MY TOE. Now, I know my callus are bad, but that has never happened to me before. My toenails were done ok (massage was good, but the nail polish looks a bit off). But my fingernails.. I asked for a full off white gel set with a couple of marble design nails. I got a set of paper white boxy and uneven nails and no design (he tried drawing it with a SHARPIE and when that failed, he started watching a TUTORIAL on how to do marble nails right in front of me). We had an appointment, but since they accepted all the walk-ins, it took them about 3 hours to finish (the wait was about 1.5 hours). All that would be ok-ish if the nail tech wasn't creepy. He looked me right in the eye and said "wow, you are so beautiful" under his breath. Then he asked me if I was 14 (I am 23). This was the worse experience I have ever had I asked if the owner could do a simple black French tip almond shaped acrylic I left with super thin nails, a bunch of blood all of my finger for how rough and careless he was being and almost half of my nails were crooked , I asked him to fix the nails that were crooked and he said we would do that later and then continued to never fix them. I was so excited to get my nails done for homecoming and now my cuticals are bloody and my nails look extremely bad , it took him 15 minutes to get to me when they were not busy at all but then rushed through my nails and it only took him 20 minutes or less to do a full set !!!! First of all, I have to say I have never been happy with the way previous nail salons have shaped my acrylics. There has always been a deformity in at least one of them. Sarah did my acrylic manicure with gel polish, and I don't have a single complaint! My nails were perfect, and when I expressed I didn't like the color on the first one, she took it off promptly and helped me choose an accent color for the new color I chose. She did the shaping perfectly, got rid of the chunky acrylic stuff under the nail right away, and there were no little bubbles or bumps on top of the nails. I don't remember the guy's name that finished painting my already-done-acrylics, but I think it was Peter. Both of them outdid themselves. The place overall was very clean, and had a house remodeling show on with sound so there was some background noise. The prices weren't bad at all: $25 for a full set with regular polish or $40 with gel polish. The cheapest pedicure, I noticed, was $25 which isn't bad at all. They also have a loyalty punch card where if you get a service $25 or more 5 times, you get $10 off your next purchase. I will definitely be going back to get a fill in when the time comes! I was anxious to get my nails done as it had been 3 weeks and I needed a change in Shellac. I couldn't get into my normal place so I opted for Star's convenient location & hours. Unfortunately experience as not a 5 star. First, the use a drummel to remove shellac ( gel) the correct way to remove. It damages the nail beds. The service was adequate. The overall experience was below my normal nail studio experience where prices are exactly the same. The reason for the review is be warned... quality is poor. By the following day I already had chips and flaking. 3 days post service, 2 nails completely peeled. By Day 4, 5 nails etc. Its now 5 days later and I am returning to my "home" salon. Contrary to another review I would add that speaking English is an exaggeration. Very broken which did allow me to get caught up on emails etc but candidly and unfortunately I won't go back. read more

I have gone to this nail salon for the past four months and appreciated the service. I had gel dip manicure applied ten days ago, one chipped the day after they were applied, another on the seventh and another on the eighth day of having them done. I went to salon to have them fixed Sunday at 4PM and they closed early. Then Monday I arrived at 6:20 Pm to see if they could repair them. They had several people arrive after me and didn't seem to care that I was waiting. After 25 minutes, I asked them if I could set up a time to come back on Tuesday. Her response was call back in the morning. I called around 10:30AM and left a message that I would come in around 5 PM. I arrived at 4:40PM and had asked them to repair my nails that had chipped. Several people arrived after me and one being a lady who came in for a chipped nail. She came in after me with no appointment and was handled before me. This salon doesn't care about its regulars or customer satisfaction. If you have an issue with your nails expect to wait. He respectfully completed my nails but this only happened after I spoke up about my dissatisfaction with waiting. I asked him how long gel dip should last and he stated 10 days. I told him the sets I had done prior to this lasted 4 weeks. The nail technician sitting in slot 4 piped up and stated "manufacturer states three weeks". She was extremely rude.
