What a gem! Took a chance on this place and we were not disappointed! Very friendly and helpful…read morestaff, Lady of the House is an absolute sweetheart! Rooms clean and very comfortable- very nostalgic decor.. like stepping back into history

Let me start by saying I'm a perfectionist, so these issues may not be something that everyone even…read morecares about. Pros: The owner is excited about being an Inn keeper, and very friendly. She wants to try to accommodate any need you might have. The house has that old southern charm, and is filled with lots of antiques and interesting pieces. Even though she has 3 small children there, downstairs, they are fairly quiet, and the house is peaceful. The rooms are spacious and have couches or chairs in them, so that if you have visitors, you are comfortable sitting in the room to talk. There is also a little table and chairs located upstairs beside the balcony, for which to socialize or have a more private meal, as opposed to eating in the dinning room, or talking in the parlor where everyone can see and hear. She asked us what time we wanted breakfast, and we got to choose what we wanted her to make, even if it wasn't on the menu. It's obvious that someone has spent lots of money outside and in to make this place charming, and comfortable. It was like being at grandma's house, just more private. Cons: Limited parking, We were told there was wifi, but something happened to the router, and she said she would have it fixed, but we stayed 3 nights, and it was never fixed. Only one room has its own bathroom, so the other guest have to use a communal bathroom at the end of the hall. The place wasn't filthy, but it wasn't hotel standard clean either. There was random stuff under the bathroom cabinets and in the closets...like someone lived in there when there were no guest. There was toothpaste dots on our bathroom mirror from the last guest, and some of the furniture throughout had thick dust on it. The decor was some-what random, and the comforters and other fabrics clashed a bit with the wallpaper, but that didn't annoy too much. I pulled about 5 fleas off of the children, that's no infestation, but not cool non-the less. The owner lives in the house with her dogs, yet guest have to pay a hefty sum if they have their pet stay. Okay, the biggest no-no. The Dog was in the kitchen while she was making breakfast. And I know that because when she was bringing food out to us, he was barking and scratching at the door. She even picked him up once and threw him back in there. Dog hair flies and floats in the air, and I definitely don't want the person preparing to be touching the dog during the prep. process. Our friends were staying also, and she said she saw roaches. The grounds need work. It's cute with little benches and so forth, but they're so covered in algae and yuckiness from the trees above, that you can't actually sit on them. The bird feeders and house also need to be pressure washed, as algae is creeping up the walls and steps. Last but not least, our fruit that was served each morning was bad, fermented, slimy. Every morning. And that is usually the bulk of what we eat. Summary: All in all, it was comfortable, with several small careless mistakes on the owner's part, but she's new and learning. When you stay at a bed and breakfast and pay that price, you want it to be as close to perfect as possible, and it was more like staying with a friend. Definitely better than staying at a hotel in Bainbridge. We may stay there again, but I can't recommend it to friends until some of these issues are addressed.

If you are heading…read morewest along I-10 to this hotel, it won't be that long after crossing time zones from Eastern to Central. My stay here was on the night of August 24, 2022. Getting to this hotel from I-10 was pretty easy and was easy to find as well. There was ample parking available when we got here, but if the hotel was busier, I think parking may be limited. After getting parked, I went inside to get checked in and get keys for the room and check out the room. The room is your standard room with two queen beds. We headed out to get some dinner before coming back. After getting back from eating, it was time to check out what the hotel had to offer. I started with the lobby area and main entrance. One thing of note was that as soon as you come into the lobby, they did have some type of scent in that area. I don't know if it was to mask something else, but it definitely set off my allergies and gave a low-grade headache, so I tried to limit time in this area. This lobby area has lots of seating there, along with the breakfast area. There is also an area for laundry. Before going outside, there is an exercise room available with various options. Then I made my way outside to check out the pool area. The pool is a nice size and looked good. Although most of the public use areas such as the exercise room, laundry, etc. would require the key card to gain access, this was not the case here on this visit. After checking out the grounds, it was time to get back to the room and start to settle in for the night. One thing that I did notice in the room that certain areas definitely show the age of the hotel, especially in the shower/tub area of the room (room 204). Also, I noticed in the rooms there were very few outlets and USB connections as well. That also lends to the age of the hotel. Another thing of note is that there was only a trash basket in the room. There was no separate recycling available. Now, for the sleeping and such. The beds were very comfortable. I had a really good night's sleep that night, as confirmed by my Fitbit as well. This is definitely an important aspect of a hotel, so this was really good. I was well rested the following morning. I went downstairs a little after 6 am when breakfast was available. Everything was already set up in there. Looking at the options though, on this experience, nothing really appealed to me. Everything was pretty much pre-packaged items. One was ham and the other was sausage, of which neither I am a fan of. I did end up getting some orange juice though and had something else later that morning when we were back on the road. Overall, the hotel covers the bases anyone would look for. The beds were good and there were several things available to do on the property. I was just still not a fan of the lobby area due to that scent they had going that set off allergies and a headache. When it comes to pricing, I know prices for everything have been going up, but I definitely felt that I paid for a suite, even though I only did a regular room with two beds. With limited options in the area, I will still consider coming here again if my travels warrant it.

Let me explaine my 5 star rating in detail. I live in Tallahassee FL. I have a 9 month pregnant daughter in law. Hurricaine Hermine hit and the power was gone. We were told minimum of 4 days before restoration. We went to booking.com and was able to reserve a room here in Tally. We go to the motel with a note on the window saying we aren't honoring your reservations. We have no power. Every motel on that road had that sign. We were supposed to pay 55 a night there. Low and behold the next morning after spending a horrid night in the heat I see these same motels charging 200 a night for a single room. 55 to 200 I guess that's why they didn't want my reservation. After day 2 and no mercy we decide were driving until we find something. Coming into Bainbridge Georgia only 23 minutes from my home I see this motel with an empty lot it is 12 noon. I pull in and this is the ugliest place I've ever seen. Think Clint Eastwood western there he is standing in the desert with that cigar and that poncho blanket thing with a tumble week rolling across the desert. We had already checked bainbridge there wasn't an open room to be had. We pull in and pray it is operational. The man finds out we are hurricane victims and cuts the rate. Guess what every other hotel in Bainbridge was price gouging as well. 200 a night. I just couldn't afford that. At this point I'm thinking I can wear bug spray and put plastic on the floor if I have to the place looked like it should be condemned it was that old...on the out side...that is. We get the key to room 140 and walk in it is a double. It was a plain room to neatly made double beds with the old style tv, mini fridge, and microwave. None of the extras you think you have to have. The carpet was spotless and the beds were some of the cleanest and softest I've ever experienced at a motel and I grew up literally in a Holiday Inn. My parents worked as food and beverage directors there. The room was old but it was clean and it was comfortable. I truly mean that. Clean, very clean. The owner was so nice and catered to our needs. Upon waking up from my well deserved sleep I was setting out side. There were a total of 6 guests parked in the lot. I watched the housekeeping service walk in each and every room of that motel about 45 to 50 and clean them each and everyone as if they had all been rented. They really take care of this motel. I'll tell you another thing. On night two after sending out a mass email to friends back home suffering the way we were. We filled that motel up to full conpacity. We had friends staying and paying 200 a night elsewhere but upon reading my email they relocated. This motel desert 10 stars but only 5 are available. If you need a safe clean place to recover from a tragedy or just a place to save money so you can spend more on fun things to do then head on over to the Palmer Motel in Bainbridge Georgia. They deserve the business and you deserve to be treated the way this owner treats customers.

I fell in love with the Lodge's elegant furnishings and complimentary snacks in 2019. It was an easy choice when we were in town for a funeral. PROS Free parking and zero street noise. King room has a sofa, Double Queen is large enough for a dance floor! Clean, comfortable & tastefully appointed with natural light, drapes, plush bedding and mini-fridge/freezer stocked with free juice, water, muffins and yogurt. Huge walk-in shower, separate tub, good water pressure and nice toiletries. Lighted closet, cable tv & a cozy fireplace in the lobby. $158 per night. CONS One hanger and 2 washcloths, more were provided upon request. No HBO despite it being advertised & SD TV. Slow Wi-Fi interrupted our shows with a "lost signal" message. Walls so thin it sounded like the guests above us were having a track meet! No housekeeping, no phone in the room or restroom nightlight. Biggest con was being jarred awake at 2am by an ear splitting fire alarm with flashing lights. Last shift ends at 10pm so you're given a phone # in tiny print at the bottom of your receipt to call for after hours help. I was trying to calm my elderly parent while looking for the phone #, my glasses, room key and cell after realizing there's no phone in the room. The after hours # was DISCONNECTED. Because it could have been a fire we all exited and waited in the cold rain. After 20 minutes no-one came & there was no way to reach the Lodge. I called 911 so they could cut off the alarm but we got no rest. The next morning the desk attendant was cleaning rooms after checkout. She was on the phone telling the manager "no-one said anything.." I told her about our ordeal and that we'd check out at noon because we were exhausted. She apologized, took my # and said the manager would call. No-one called. TIPS - bring a nightlight for the restroom and a cell phone. Make sure the after hours # works. Pray there's no middle of the night fire alarm but keep your phone, glasses, receipt, shoes, coat & umbrella nearby just in case. SUM As beautiful and comfortable as the Lodge is, the fire alarm severely disrupted our rest. We paid for respite not to stand outside in the cold rain at 2am. The non-working after hours # is unsafe and unacceptable. Since management doesn't care, I cannot recommend.

However I will tell you all about why I had to check out early, not getting a refund for the 2 more nights I had reserved. This establishment let's just anyone in their motel. I had to complain about the illegal workers next to me. Sitting on the sidewalk, drinking beer, smoking pot right in front of my door. That made me so uncomfortable. There are way too many stories in the news about illegals preying on us American citizens. I read about it every day. It's horrifying, gruesome. I did not want to be another statistic. I checked out early. The total disrespect from these illegals. Amazing. It didn't matter to me that the staff "would talk to them and have them move." No, these men were not being respectful and weren't going to change because the housekeeper or manager asked them to. These men knew I was in the room they were sitting in front of. They knew I was an elderly woman. They had no consideration for that. The only thing to do was to check-out to be safe. These men were drinking and smoking weed before 3 pm. So, imagine what they would be like later on in the evening. I normally like this establishment, and I've stayed there before. Nice rooms, wifi, tv and cleanliness. But after all the news about illegals, there was no way I was going to stay there. How do I know they are illegals? No English, no boundaries, no respect or courtesy. I'll never stay there again.
