However it's the first accommodations I have reserved that has had NO in room refrigeration or microwave. NO Ice Machine access but ice buckets in the room? Extra roomy Bathroom with no counter space. Iron & ironing board was in the hallway restroom for communal use?!? It is somewhat understandable that this is a historic building but there apparently is no sound proofing/insulation between the guest room walls. Noise from doors shutting, conversions, people walking on the old hard wood floors, the noises never ended. Many times it would have been very beneficial to have staff in site as children were constantly playing and running the halls, also clunking exercise equipment in the gym! Texting or Email was the only way to get staff response, which it was usually relatively quick.

We received clear instructions via text on how to download the electronic key app, along with the entry code and parking directions. No issues at all getting in. The room had electronic key cards for both the side door and the room itself, making it very convenient. Parking was easy--we parked at the park directly across from our room, within view. The streets were well-lit, and the area felt safe and charming. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with the A/C and TV working perfectly. The bathroom was impressively large as well. The building itself is adorable, thoughtfully designed, and beautifully decorated. My only suggestion would be to add a larger vanity in the bathroom, as there's ample space for it, and maybe a task light for makeup. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return if given the opportunity.

Let me start by saying I'm a perfectionist, so these issues may not be something that everyone even…read morecares about. Pros: The owner is excited about being an Inn keeper, and very friendly. She wants to try to accommodate any need you might have. The house has that old southern charm, and is filled with lots of antiques and interesting pieces. Even though she has 3 small children there, downstairs, they are fairly quiet, and the house is peaceful. The rooms are spacious and have couches or chairs in them, so that if you have visitors, you are comfortable sitting in the room to talk. There is also a little table and chairs located upstairs beside the balcony, for which to socialize or have a more private meal, as opposed to eating in the dinning room, or talking in the parlor where everyone can see and hear. She asked us what time we wanted breakfast, and we got to choose what we wanted her to make, even if it wasn't on the menu. It's obvious that someone has spent lots of money outside and in to make this place charming, and comfortable. It was like being at grandma's house, just more private. Cons: Limited parking, We were told there was wifi, but something happened to the router, and she said she would have it fixed, but we stayed 3 nights, and it was never fixed. Only one room has its own bathroom, so the other guest have to use a communal bathroom at the end of the hall. The place wasn't filthy, but it wasn't hotel standard clean either. There was random stuff under the bathroom cabinets and in the closets...like someone lived in there when there were no guest. There was toothpaste dots on our bathroom mirror from the last guest, and some of the furniture throughout had thick dust on it. The decor was some-what random, and the comforters and other fabrics clashed a bit with the wallpaper, but that didn't annoy too much. I pulled about 5 fleas off of the children, that's no infestation, but not cool non-the less. The owner lives in the house with her dogs, yet guest have to pay a hefty sum if they have their pet stay. Okay, the biggest no-no. The Dog was in the kitchen while she was making breakfast. And I know that because when she was bringing food out to us, he was barking and scratching at the door. She even picked him up once and threw him back in there. Dog hair flies and floats in the air, and I definitely don't want the person preparing to be touching the dog during the prep. process. Our friends were staying also, and she said she saw roaches. The grounds need work. It's cute with little benches and so forth, but they're so covered in algae and yuckiness from the trees above, that you can't actually sit on them. The bird feeders and house also need to be pressure washed, as algae is creeping up the walls and steps. Last but not least, our fruit that was served each morning was bad, fermented, slimy. Every morning. And that is usually the bulk of what we eat. Summary: All in all, it was comfortable, with several small careless mistakes on the owner's part, but she's new and learning. When you stay at a bed and breakfast and pay that price, you want it to be as close to perfect as possible, and it was more like staying with a friend. Definitely better than staying at a hotel in Bainbridge. We may stay there again, but I can't recommend it to friends until some of these issues are addressed.

I am a Hilton LIFETIME DIAMOND and to say "DON'T STAY AT THIS PROPERTY" would be putting it…read morelightly! Not only is the property unkept and in ill repair, the management, all the way up to the General Manager, Sydney, doesn't care! (THEY HAVE OVER 120 "1 STAR" REVIEWS) I have stayed with Hilton properties for over 22 years and have never had an experience even close to my stay last night! Upon opening the door to my 3rd floor room shortly after 7 pm, my very first thought was, "this place is NASTY!" My eyes were drawn to the window across the room. Both the curtains and the shears were open and, because of the nearby parking lot light, the absolute filth of the window was almost overwhelming! If they aren't going to clean the windows, at least keep the shears closed so the guest doesn't notice. Here is a list of other things noted at this property: * Light over the bathroom mirror didn't work... How can housekeeping clean the bathroom or even just the mirror and not notice that the light doesn't work? * No Shampoo in the container in the shower * Pool towels in the bathroom instead of bath towel * Long black hairs in the sink. It wasn't mine. I have very short gray hair. * Gooey spots on counter, like little spots of toothpaste * Soap/Toothpaste spots on mirror * The door to my room, 315, had a 2nd hole for a door handle drilled all the way through the door that they had filled with wood putty and never stained it * The Sheetrock tape all the way around the door was peeled up and loose from the wall itself * Inside door of the elevator had a very wide stripe of adhesive across the door horizontally where they had a Hampton banner ad in the past and never cleaned the elevator door. Get some "Goof Off" and clean the door! (see picture) * No breakfast... Breakfast is from 6 am to 10 am. I came down at 8:15 and the wasn't any breakfast, nor had there been. The pans were completely clean and washed. When I inquired about it, I was told that they had they fired the lady who does breakfast and didn't have anyone to do it now. I then asked why the manager or GM wasn't filling in to ensure the guests were getting what they paid for. i was told, "She doesn't come in until 9:00.0 (see picture of empty pan) * The curbs of the parking lot are littered with days worth of cigarette butts and no one tidying the parking lot. Prior to leaving, I stopped at the front desk to discuss my stay. The only person at the desk was a lady from housekeeping. So, I took the opportunity to voice my "cleanliness concerns". She turned, walked away, and came back with the cleaning schedule and said, "I didn't clean your room yesterday!" I then asked to speak with the GM and was again advised that she wouldn't be in until 9 am. I left the property and went to work. At around 9:15 am I returned to the property to discuss my stay with Sydney, the General Manager. Josh, the front desk agent, told me that she was on the phone and he was unsure how long she would be. I waited about 15 minutes before speaking with Josh regarding my concerns. While doing so, another guest came to the desk and overheard our discussion. She politely interrupted and said, "I just want to check out and SUPPORT HIS CONCERNS!" She went on to say that her room was so nasty that she was checking out without taking a shower. Josh very rudely refused to refund either the lady's stay or mine. When Sydney finally came to the front desk, I explained my concerns and asked for the Hampton Inn 100% Satisfaction Guarantee for a refund of the charges for that night. Sydney proceeded to tell me that she wasn't going to refund my charges because I had stayed the night and didn't leave. I told Sydney that is what the guarantee is for. She literally argued with me for about 10 minutes, even telling me to call the Diamond Desk to tell them my concerns. I told Sydney that's exactly what I was going to do AFTER SHE REFUNDED MY CHARGES! After much discussion, Sydney finally issued a refund to my card for my stay. (THEY HAVE OVER 120 "1 STAR" REVIEWS) DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY! THEY ARE NOT UP TO HILTON STANDARDS AND OBVIOUSLY DO NOT CARE!

I saw a dead cockroach by the ice machine on the fourth floor :( I'm surprised they didn't have an ice machine and water fountain on each floor. Wow! This was probably THE worst motel I've ever stayed at in the United States (I've been at a few…read morethat were worse in other countries.....third world countries!) This is a worn out motel complex that was probably in its heyday in the 50s or 60s. It was recently taken over by Howard Johnson (I didn't even know that HoJo hotels still existed). The room had a card entry (that was fine), and everything worked, but it was grungy. I actually washed and sanitized my hands a few times after touching things in the room that were sticky (and I'm not a "germophobe"...I've never done that in a US motel before!). Glancing at the shower, the first impression is that someone spread feces on the walls, but on closer inspection it was the glue for fastening on soon-to-be-placed bathroom tiles. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. That's what I was there for, so that was the most important thing. There was a continental breakfast included ("a variety of five cold cereals and choice of hot oatmeal or grits" as someone told me on check-in). True, but everything was in factory sealed packages, including the bagels! (After what I said about the room cleanliness, that's probably a good idea). There was a garbage can in the hallway that was overflowing, from the time I arrived until after I left. There was a swimming pool, but it was closed. I hope the shift to Howard Johnson will involve an upgrade of the rooms, but I am not going to stay here again.
