Like fine wine, Aladdin's gets better with age. I have loved watching it evolve over the years,…read moreespecially the restaurant, which started as a small offering and has now really come into its own. We had to feed a crowd at home recently and Middle Eastern cuisine suited everyone's fancy, so naturally Aladdin's was the call. Using the online ordering system was simple, and the food was ready right on time. My only feedback is that the items don't all clearly describe what you get or how the dish comes, and so I added sauces thinking they came on the side but really came on top, and paid upcharges for things like pita, thinking they didn't come with it but then finding out they did and I just added a lot of extra. I ordered a few shawarma plates, an Aladdin combo, and hummus, falafel, and babaganoush appetizers. Everything was delicious, but some items were a bit surprising. The hummus is was a bit on the loose side, and we actually thought it was tahini from the look, aroma, and flavor. My guess is the batch was made with a bit more tahini than normal. Still good, but surprising. The Aladdin's Combo didn't look as pictured on the website, where it looks like a very sizable portion of meat, with chicken in a reddish marinade. Though the chicken looked similar to shawarma, it was clearly different in flavor, and both it and the koobideh were delicious. I ordered extra meat and had expected it to be outrageously large based on the menu photo of the standard order, but what came was more similar to the photo itself. It was still plenty to share, but I paid additional and didn't seem like I got that much more. The regular portions here are large, like easily feed two people sized. We ordered one plate per person, but in reality could've split them all. Again, I love this spot and chalk this up to learning. I think some folks could get frustrated with this experience, and I def did to an extent, but I enjoy this too much to gripe.

We were not disappointed! Here are a few things to know: - In addition to selling Mediterranean groceries, you can order at the register and there are several small tables so you can sit and eat. - I ordered the Gyro Sandwich, and my wife ordered the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich. Both were really good, and quite large...I, of course, polished my entire sandwich off and my wife took half home for later. - We've bought Greek cheeses, olives, bulghur, and spices at Aladdin's, both this time and in the past. It's the only place to find some of the things I need, and the prices are better on some things than even Amazon. - Service was really great. The person working let me wait to pay until after I had finished my grocery shopping, and she brought our food out to our table pretty quickly. Bottom line: Aladdin's is a go-to place for us...next time, we'll probably go again at a time which would let us enjoy lunch at the same time.

Manila Hong Kong Store and Kitchen falls firmly into the second category, and honestly that's exactly what a Saturday morning Filipino breakfast calls for. My family and I settled into the cozy, casual vibe without any fuss. This is not a place trying to be anything other than what it is, a neighborhood spot serving solid Filipino food at prices that don't require you to file a damage report afterward. We ordered tocino, fried bangus, and pork sisig, all served with rice, the way the Force intended. The tocino was sweet and caramelized in the right way, the bangus was crispy on the outside and flaky inside, and the sisig brought enough sizzle and flavor to round out the whole spread. We split a gulaman sago drink, which is exactly the kind of refreshing choice that makes you feel like you made a good decision even before the food arrives. Nothing on the table was going to earn a Michelin star, but everything was satisfying and made with care, which is a more honest measure of a good breakfast anyway. The store side of the operation is worth a browse too. Wide selection of Filipino market items, the kind of ingredients and snacks you're not finding at a regular grocery chain. My partner found a few things worth taking home, so the trip pulled double duty. Five stars for being exactly what it promises. Good food, fair prices, and a room that feels like someone's nanay runs it, which in this case is the highest compliment I can offer.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with all the different stuff they have here for your Filipino comfort foods. I could not hold back on certain items because I knew I wouldn't be able to get them unless I drove 2 hours to Sac for seafood city. Pricing wise , I really can't tell as I do not go to Seafood city much, but I personally think the pricing here is decent especially with everything they have on inventory. It is pretty clean , organized , and easy to navigate certain sections. I also like that the restaurant is right next door if you are hungry and want to grab a meal. However I do think their selection is pretty limited with the basic: sinigang ang baboy and Longinisa with garlic fried rice. Also keep in mind if you are getting the sinigang it is about $17. Like I said, probably the closest store you will get to a seafood city and pretty well stocked of items. I do recommend checking this one out .

I found myself out and about with just my son and and we both thought a char grilled kebab sounded like a fun dinner experiment. We popped in and found who were guessing is the owner's child at the register and placed our order for their signature kebab made from ground chicken and Afghani spices. The plate came with sumac spiked basmati rice, two pieces of the chicken kebab and a small green salad plus a green hot sauce. The kebab was tender and juicy with a great flavor profile and a nice bit of charcoal flavor. We thought the rice was actually exceptional light and fluffy with a hint of that citrus sea tang from the sumac, in a buttery finish, made this a nice light side to the kebab. The salad was fresh and crunchy with cucumber, lettuce, and bell peppers and that green hot sauce was really great and we used it as a dressing because the salad did not come with one. For $16 I just felt like the value was a bit often the plate needed at least one more piece of the kebab because when finished with a small tiny salad and the kebab, we were left with a mountain of rice and that is south wasteful. I just wish the plates here were a bit more valued oriented and I guess it will take more people eating here to kind of drive that up. Highly recommend giving it a try plus the market has some really fun fines too. Share your review and let me know what you think.

I used the website and placed the order with ease, we paid and it stated the order would be ready at 2:50 pm. At 2:49 I got a text stating the order was ready. Order Cuban on oregano parm bread Trip tip with blue cheese add mayo, slaw on the side on jalapeno cheese bread. The order was picked up with ease, arrived at the house at 3:45. The sandwiches were much larger than expected, and were still nice and warm. Opened the bag to find each sandwich was wrapped and clearly labeled. The herb flavors were present in the Cuban, the pickles were mighty tasty offsetting the fat, and the vinegar in mustard tied it all together and the warm fresh crusty bread... OHHHHH MYYYYY!!! Greatttttt sandwhich! Jalapeno cheese bread with trip tip was MF FIRE !! I'd never imagine blue cheese and trip tip with jalapeno and spinach. Wowwwww it worked.. let's talk quality... quality aromatic blue cheese with a nice punch to it.. it almost melted into the bread!! The perfectly large chunks of wilted spinach from the heat of the meat, and the breaddddddddddddddd.. salty, slightly spicy from the jalapeno ... WOW NEW FAVORITE!! This sandwhich has me wanting to make some bread and find just the right blue cheese!!! SORRY BUT I DONT LIVE HERE AND HAVE TO HAVE IT!!! Will I return? While…read morewaiting for our order to be made, I was watching them making sandwiches and burritos diligently , grilling burritos on the panini griller. They had a lot of orders that they were trying to get out, but this one person accidentally put possibly mayo on a sandwich, turned around with the piece of bread in his hand, which I couldn't see what he did with it, but it was kind of wiped off, so I don't know if he scraped it on something, but he did not use a knife in my view to take it off then he took a towel to it, wiped it off and then put it on the grill for 10 seconds and then he put the correct spread on it. Now... What if that person was grossed out by mayo or allergic to something in the mayo. It would've been just as easy to get a fresh roll. That kind of grossed me out. I'm glad it wasn't ours. I have to wonder what that towel was used on. It wasn't a fresh towel. It was crumbled up. That has not sat well with me since I saw that. I think the rating on them (if I was an inspector ) would have been affected. Normally we love that place!
