So....... I called this company to send a contractor to review some repairs needed. The man told me after seeing the damage that he'd get back to me with an estimate. Never heard back. So I called the office..... four times. Each time someone told me they'd have the manager call me back. It's been two and a half months since that man came to look at my house. Picked Star Construction Experts for their five star reviews. I didn't get five star quality work or service. On the first day of the job, Kevin raised the cost to more than twice the agreed upon amount. He said the scope of the work was much larger than he thought. What? My insurance company scoped the work, taped the wall, wrote on the tape, and you didn't understand. Stupidly, I agreed thinking I would be happy with good quality work. Anyway the scope of the work included reinforcing foundation piers that shifted; and then changing out the sewage pipe from the basement up to the second floor through a restroom. I saw work on the pipe being done but no action on the foundation. I reminded Kevin about the foundation work, advising that the foundation work should come first as the lifting of the foundation may affect other work. He dismisses my concern and tells me they can do it at the end of the job without issue. I was also concerned about the quality of the work and sent photos of the tile work to Kevin. Kevin calls asking for final payment, saying how nice the the tile photos I sent were. What? I asked about the foundation work and he tells me that the subcontracting plumber adjusted the existing jack and final payment is do. I tell him that the subcontractor is licensed to do plumbing and my contract says that the foundation piers are to be reinforced. I then get a call from Estelle of Star Construction trying sell me that same story about the plumbers. The next day, the plumber finished up and confirms that the scope of their work was only the plumbing. Kevin calls to say that the foundation portion of the bill will be removed and the contract will be amended to say that the customer was not satisfied with the work. He wants to collect final payment and tells me to leave the check at the door. What? I told him that he should look at the quality of the work first because it is poor. After looking at the work, Kevin tries to tell me that it is hard to do a partial tile job and my walls were wavy previously so the edges of the dry wall work are not clean, but if I want his crew to come repaint. Are you serious? How is painting again going to help? And my walls were not wavy. Kevin said he would take off the price of the foundation work and note customer did not like quality of work. I made him write that the foundation work was not done. Liars! Poor Quality Work and Service! read more

So after giving me a 4 hour window for one of their employee to come over for an estimate, nobody showed up. I called the office and they said it will be 20 minutes, he's on his way... K, well a phone call would have been nice, I'm sitting around waiting on a weekday like I have nothing else to do. One hour later, still nobody. I called again. They seemed surprised and the person on the phone said they're going to talk to the manager then give me a call back. Well, 8 hours later still nothing. Thanks, apparently you don't need my business and you're not even respectful.
