Terrible service. Our driver obviously had no idea how to get us to the Symphony Hall even with two sat navs on the go. I had to give him the post code when we were in town and even then he got lost. Admittedly on return we were late coming out. But our driver was quite rude and then drove way beyond the speed limit and we were all very frightened having to hang on to our seats. read more

This is the worse service I have ever had. Waited over an hour for pick up, and this is almost every evening, both driver 1552 and the operator were extremely rude. After they finally picked me up the driver started opening some sweets, after i told him that this is not save, I would prefer if he can stop, and if he dont i will make a video of that, he started shouting and telling me that i need too leave and he will just drop me there(motorway) AND HE WILL SUE ME... I have been using Star Cars for over 10 years. Overall the company provide a good service and offer deals for regular customers. Unfortunately on Saturday I was picked up by a taxi driver who turned up late even though the cab was pre booked! I arrived at my destination late. Then the taxi driver overcharged me for a journey I make 3/4 times per week. I gave him £10, only to be told that he didn't have any change! I was very distressed and called Star Taxi base. The taxi driver gave me back my £10 and told me to P#@ss Off! I was late for work and extremely upset! I am now going to put in an official complaint to the manager at Star Cars. read more

Don't use Star Cars! 8 people all 80 year olds were stuck in the village of Whittington at midnight stranded! This was in spite of having a text confirmation of the booking. 3 phone calls from me only got through to automated voice informing me Star were looking for a driver. Then an email at 00.27 telling me they had cancelled the booking. Appalling, absolutely scandalous! We were eventually rescued by 2 very helpful UBER taxis. Subsequent phone calls for an explanation were made and phone calls back by a manager were promised. Not surprisingly no calls back were received! Don't use Star Cars! read more

As taxi firms go, Star has got to be right up there. I've been relying on this cab company for many years and I have never been disappointed with the service they provide. The cars are quite new, the drivers are very friendly and helpful with any baggage you may be carrying. The service is excellent and swift. Once you've booked, the automated system will call you to inform you that your taxi is waiting and it'll even give you the make and model of the car. The company offers a full range of transport from cars, people carriers, minibuses and even coaches. Fares are competitive and return deals can be arranged. These guys helped me out in a big way when Amo's Bizzy Bee's taxis let me down for a time sensitive booking to the airport. The booking was made On Fri 16th June for pick up from New Oscott area at 12.30 P.M time slot for Sun 17th to get us to Birmingham airport for luggage book in at 1.30.pm. At 1245 no taxi so I phoned Amo's Bizzy Bees Taxis and was told no booking had been made and I was virtually called a liar. in frantic mode now concerned about getting to the airport I phoned Star Cars. they were really helpful and could see my dilemma. These guys had 2 cars to us within about 5 minutes. I now have there app and will use them without hesitation in future. Well done and thanks guys read more

A good taxi company which I use at least twice a week. I use them because they are always very prompt and I sometimes have a disabled person with me and whenever this is the case they always have a vechicle to accomodate our needs. They charge a reasonable price and SMS notification directly of your upcoming vechicle. read more

Can honestly say that as of today my monthly £300 spend on taxis to work all month will be moving elsewhere. Star cars are an over priced service with belligerent operators with heaps of hassle before work, not a way to start my day - goodbye star cars after 5 long years here to someone more reliable, polite and cost effective!!! read more

OMG what a bad service we got today. Phoned to say we urgently needed a taxi to pick up an elderly gentleman who was feeling ill. We told him we would wait by the front door of Sainsbury as he couldn't walk any further than that. After waiting a while we noticed a taxi waiting in another place. My friend ran after him as he was driving off. He stopped and even though we explained the man was ill and needed help quickly he refused to take the man and drove off. Eventually after waiting for another taxi that seemed to be taking an age we found another way to get him home. I think that the first driver that came out was very rude and inconsiderate. He knew the situation and was not interested in helping. May be one of his relatives will be left in the same predicament one day and then he will know how it feels. I only gave one star as it was the only way I could leave a review I actually believe that they don't deserve any. read more

Used them for the first time tonight and was charged £6 to go 1.4 miles. Have checked with others in the area and they charge between £1 and £1.50 per mile. Even he said the firm's minimum charge was £4 but still insisted that I pay £6. I hope this is just one driver giving the firm a bad name. But way to expensive to recommend if not. read more

Booked a taxi for 2pm to meet the Lord mayor at 2.30. It did not arrive until 23mins past and said it had arrived at 2pm but at the wrong place. Der!!! That entrance would have had a different postcode so didn't buy that excuse! On the return journey the driver just played his pop music all the way back and we had to ask him to turn it down., It seemed like he was doing us a favour letting us use his cab. I complained and got an excuse I've heard before..new driver..didn't know the way. Not my problem. Our driver told us it would cost us extra to go on the motorway to the airport and asked us to pay cash. We agreed and gave him £5. The taxi firm then emailed us to say we needed to pay the extra for going on the motorway and the driver told them we asked to go on the motorway and hadn't paid the extra! read more

Absolutely crap. Was attempting to book a taxi service from a location they apparently do no deliver to/from. Did not tell me or state this at the time. Made my arrangements a month in advance, to have them call me less than an hour before the set time, whilst I was on the train almost at the destination. VERY ANGRY AND UPSET. Had to try make other arrangements, because they left it to the last minute. Not only this but I had to ring them to find out, as I noticed I had a missed call, and no message/voicemail. Otherwise would have been stood in the thick snow waiting for them to never arrive. Poor effort in my opinion. read more

Clean cars and sometimes you get friendly drivers. They get a taxi to you as soon as possible although if its the end of the month they get very busy and you do have to wait a while for a car, so its always best to book in advance if possible. read more

Due to personal experience of using this company I would deter away from reliance on Star Cars. On multiple occasions I have ordered from the company and they have sent the taxi to a completely different area causing serious delays to my journeys. The time between ordering the taxi and the actual arrival of the car is, majority of the time, unacceptable and shows clear lack of organisation. For anyone who is using the company for time kept situations such as getting to work, I would advise to find a more reliable and managed way as you will most certainly be late using Star. I only ever use Star in times of desperation when I have no other way of getting about but each time they never fail to surprise me on poor communication and time management. read more
