I don't usually wear makeup on day to day basis, so I was looking for someone that could achieve a natural, glowy, k-beauty type look for my wedding. When I saw Kahn's portfolio, I knew she was the one! I booked her first a HMU trial a few months before the big day- I absolutely loved my makeup at the trial but decided I want to go for a different hairstyle after taking some time to think about it. On the day of the wedding, I was honestly a little nervous because I didn't get the chance to try out the new hairstyle, but Kahn understood my vision and delivered exactly what I had asked for (which looked even better than I could've imagined). I truly have never felt so beautiful than on my wedding day, and it's all thanks to her! My only slight qualm with the service as a whole (and not Kahn's fault at all) was that there was a last-minute scheduling conflict and Kahn was unable to stay to do hair and makeup for the rest of the bridal party. However, the agency provided us with an additional HMU artist and offered to have Kahn come back during cocktail hour to do a free touch-up. I appreciate that they offered this concession, because it was great to have her touch up my makeup after shedding some tears at the ceremony. Kahn even offered to touch up the groom, and helped me with my outfit change during that time. The two additional makeup artists (Nikki and Madison) were also great- my mom was extremely happy with her makeup and said it was the best makeup service she's ever received. Overall, working with Kelly Zhang Agency was a smooth process from start to finish and I would 100% choose them again if I had to do it all over.

I had a few changes in my HMUA. I booked Kelly a few months prior to my wedding and decided to have a HMUA stay longer to assist with touchups. Overall, communication was great and there were no hiccups. As for the service itself, I was nervous for HMUA because I don't wear too much make up and my trial with Kelly the day before my wedding at her studio in Pasadena. At the beginning, Kelly and I chatted about my skin and what I was looking for. I shared some inspo pics and she quickly grasped the ideas of what I was looking for. Kelly is not just a HMUA, but truly cares about those she works with. During my trial, she would checked in with me during the process - asking me if I was comfortable while working on my eyes. Furthermore, I had shared with her that my press-on nails were stressing me out (they kept popping off!) and Kelly immediately called her nail lady to see if she could squeeze me in for an appointment. Within 10 minutes, I was at the nail salon getting my nails done! The day of, Kelly and her team arrived earlier than expected. We had 4 bridesmaids + 2 moms scheduled for Kadet and Maddie. Many members of my bridal party had never gotten their hair & makeup done before; Kadet and Maddie were very skilled in understanding what each person was looking for and executing quickly. My party shared high praises for both! Since Kelly and I worked the day before, I had an idea on what to expect. We made a few tweaks the day of - the falsies kept bother my eyes and Kelly kept tweaking them until they were perfect and comfortable. I also initially wanted more blush and Kelly was willing to add more, but advised to just sit in the makeup before making any changes. She was right! After sitting with the makeup for a bit, the balance of it all felt perfect. It turned out perfect and what I wanted - fresh and natural and looking like myself. Instead of having a cohesive, full-looking perimeter, the ends taper into a bunch of different lengths and look thin, wispy, and uneven. I understand that not every haircut turns out exactly as expected, but for an $80 haircut, I really didn't expect to leave needing a corrective cut somewhere else.
