Their shipping department is deplorable!! Lost my 2nd package that shipped UPS there! Their staging area and system to take a million Amazon packs and ship UPS is horrible. They shove all these packages in Amazon bags for UPS to pick up. I'm sure my packs that shipped UPS got mishandled. I would NEVER ship a UPS box out of there again. These filing cabinets are horrible. First of all the boxes came ripped and . One of the filling cabinets came dented. I did not know. I had an expiration date to In they don't open they get blocked. Walked in with a very simple task on my hands: Print some photos that I had taken of my cousins and I as a late gift for our grandmother. The email provided for us to send the files to was fine, kind of whatever. The problems then started to arise once they were printed. We asked for 5 by 7 prints. Most printed fine, but one was cut off. Instead of resizing the WHOLE image, the service associate behind the counter made it 'taller' and skinnier, such that it wouldn't fit into a traditional frame. I would have accepted "Oh sorry, this doesn't fit into 5 by 7, would you like another size?" I also would have accepted just not printing it, and not paying for it. Then we were told that it would be another $5 to cut them out off the white sheet that they were printed on. Okay, we thought, that's reasonable. Then, after 20 more minutes of waiting, bringing our trip total to about 45 minutes to print 5 photos, another gentleman started to cut our pics. He left about half an inch of white on some sides, less on others, crooked lines, etc. This would not have been a problem if we hadn't PAID to have them cut. At this point we are at our wits end. Answering questions, waiting long, etc. We gather our pictures and pay the TWENTY SIX dollars to print, plus the 'cutting fee' for a job that could've been handled better with a chainsaw, or maybe the engine of a jet plane. We walk out, pics in hand, and get home to deliver them to our grandmother. Upon arrival and unwrapping, we find one of the pictures is torn. So now, we're $26 in the hole for frames and pictures that we cant even use. Good thing we got the download code for the pics, because we CERTAINLY can't allow our grandmother to put those prints up. Cant believe this happened. Awful experiance, do NOT go to the printing department expecting anything more than a dollar store level job. read more

Brought in a 1 page 2 sided color document for copying to Toms River on a Friday afternoon . After waiting 10 minutes the staff member took my request and apparently started to take action copying it. After another 15 minutes of waiting at which time the staff member attended to another confused customer, another staff member took my name and phone number (only) and indicated it would be another 30 min. After waiting about a half hour., I had to go somewhere and said would return later Upon return approx 2+ hours later there were different staff members who fumbledly looked for my order and couldn't find it based on only a phone and name (this also took about 15 minutes of waiting.) I said I needed the document back and they said couldn't find it but would have a supervisor call me this coming Monday Additionally, most of the time I was there both times, a line of people waiting for service started piling up and there were people being attended to who were also waiting and waiting. This is no way to run a print operation. They need to get their act together. The department is obviously understaffed, and there is no order to how people approach the counter and wait for service before and during. I went to get a simple document copied, and left with nothing, not even my original document read more

This staples really stands out by the "problem solving" skills of his manager TONY. He has a low tolerance to frustation and instead of dealing with customers, tells employees what to do instead of him communicating directly the answer to the customer, even once the customer is in front of him. His managerial skills have being showed throughout the many times I have visited this store. There is ALWAYS a shortage of employees. There is ALWAYS a line to pay, return to amazon, or even to print. Even when there is lines he shouts " Im sorry soo many people call tonight... blah blah blah" If you can avoid this store, please do so. read more

Staples is UNFAIR TO PEOPLE WITH EYE PROBLEMS, SENIOR CITIZEN, CRAFTERS, AND QUILTERS. I love to embroider, cross-stitch and quilt; however, I have vision PROBLEMS with small tiny lines and some patterns are difficult for me to see. For this reason, for the last few years, I been going to STAPLES in Toms River, NJ where they have always enlarged my patters. I explain that I have trouble seeing the tiny symbols and they make the pattern twice the size. I do understand the COPYRIGHT LAWS this was an enlargement for a senior citizen with eye problems and it was for personal use. Today I went to the Staples on 37west and requested the enlargement of one pattern and the copies of a quilt pattern that was printed double sided on the pattern. That tell you to make copies so you can cut the pattern out...STAPLES would not copy the pattern or enlarge the cross-stitch pattern. They said it was COMPANY policy they can't do it. The printing department manager was RUDE, and very NASTY to this senior citizen; her general store manager was no better. He talked down to me like I was his child. Staples district manager should send them both back for re-training in CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will never step foot that that store again, STAPLES is not the only place in town. read more

I usually don't post reviews about corporate businesses but , recent experiences made write this one . In a digital day and age where a persons local bank will usually be happy enough to make a copy , email or fax for free, it surprises me that staples is so expensive for something as simple as accessing email and editing and printing a resume and faxing... all said and done it can cost as much as a new printer would cost . I had a scary moment in store where while getting rung up my child darted away from me abruptly and I had to chase her . The cashier made a comment loudly at me saying " um okayyy" showing no empathy or concern as if I'm going to stick around at the register and let my child run away through the store . It's not her fault or her job to watch my kid but as a customer as well as a busy parent corralling my kid , I didn't need the scoffing side remark. read more

I received a donation to purchase office supplies. My profile page states the address of where the packages should have been delivered. I am a teacher in a school and the address reflects a school. I checked the status of my order and it was listed as delivered, however, there wasn't a delivery to my school. I chatted on line with Staples customer service and I saw a picture of where it was delivered. It was a picture of a home. I informed customer service that this was not a school. The representative said the driver only delivers to the address that was on label. My profile page has the address of the school and the customer service rep said that was not the address on the label. I asked to see the label and it clearly said a school, my name. Where is common sense????? Staples said there isn't anything that can be done except offer a credit and then I have to wait 2 months. So my students have to wait because someone lacks common sense????? read more

Terrible location (on Rt. 37 in Shop Rite plaza). All their copy and print machines are soo outdated I don't know how they're still open. I've only been here a few times but after my last experience I'll pay more and drive farther to avoid this dump. I was there 40 minutes before closing and the copy center employees were already closing up and even denied a customer change for the copy machine because she closed the register already and the debit card option was broken on the machine so the customer left without completing her task. The Staples iPhone "app" is also terribly outdated. It basically just sends you to staples.com where it isn't mobile friendly so you end up having to drive to a location to get anything done. The whole store needs remodeled and the employees need to be retrained or get new employees entirely. Also to charge a $12 to have them use a paper cutter is insanity. read more

I just want to clarify that this is the staples in the shoprite plaza. I'm rating this from my experience with staples and their affiliation with being a "ups" store. It's basically false advertising and they don't provide the services that you would expect from a full service ups store. First off I went in thinking wow this is so convenient having a ups store inside the staples which is way closer than the real ups store across town. I went in to try to scan a qr code from Amazon and they couldn't do that so I ended up not being to ship my package that day because I already started the return process with Amazon. I then tried to ship another item that I preprinted the return label for. The box that I chose had a big sign that said 69¢ so I was like well that's super reasonable for a box so I had it packed ($1 for tape) still ok since the post office makes you buy a whole roll of tape. When I was being rung up apparently it was 69¢ only if you buy 3 or more boxes. I ended up just leaving with all my stuff and wasting my time there. I would never go there again thinking I was going to do any kind of ups shipping. I usually never comment about demeanor of associates because that's so subjective, but the manager behind the office desk was just plain unpleasant. I can see why they have such a low rating on Yelp and google. The sad thing is that a majority of their customers are seniors who just get bamboozled by them :( read more

I love Staples. I get all of our office supplies there. I think their prices are reasonable. They also have a rewards program which is a plus. For the most part, I like Staples. However, some of their staff need to brush up on being courteous to customers. A few days ago, I went to Staples to make an exchange. I asked the cashier (I won't mention her name) if I was going to get my rewards dollars back bc if not, I will not return the item. I also told her I needed to buy more copier paper, so maybe she can hold my item while I get my exchange; but she neglected my asking and proceeded to return my item while chit-chatting wirh the other cashier. Long story short, she returned my item and I did not get my rewards dollars back. Also, it was her attitude towards me as if she was annoyed that I asked her to see if I could possibly get my rewards back. She got snappy when I made my point after the transaction. The point is, it's not about the rewards, it's her rude demeanor that makes it unpleasant to shop at the store. So, back to online shopping from now on. Despite the negative reviews, I was far away from the office and in a crunch for time, I stopped at this Staples copy shop on 37 near the G.S. Parkway. I needed five copies of six different legal pleadings. Dianna was friendly, responsive, and accurate. In the time I drank one beer at the Social 37 across the parking lot, she had assembled 5 additional copies in precisely the same way that I had arranged the originals. I would have liked the excuse to spend more time in the bar, but Dianna is super efficient! Sincerely grateful for the help a pinch. Thank you. read more

Our company has a large amount of Blue Print needs. They always get our jobs done in a reasonable amount of time. They make the PDF and email in front of me, make the copies and always work with us on unusual sizing. Today they even made 3 copies of over 7 foot Blue Prints within hours. The pricing is reasonable and I always get great help. read more

Horrible Service. I went in to buy an "open box" laptop aka someone had bought it than returned it. When we went to check out we were informed that it would take an hour for the lap top to be cleared. This means that someone's laptop was sitting in the store with their personal information on it. We ended up waiting almost two hours for a used laptop. I will be taking my business elsewhere next time. read more

Poor customer service at this location. It took over 30 minutes for 3 different employees to check if they had an item in stock. (Of course it was out of stock) I also did not appreciate being pushed to fill out some survey things after politely passing on the offer several times. I will be back, but if I cannot find something I will just leave instead of asking for help from a store employee. read more

The worst staples I've ever been to. There is nothing better than being ignored every time you need help. I went in to make copies which would usually take about 5 seconds but turned into a 20 min ordeal because none of the machines were working. So while I'm trying to figure out what's going on with the copy machine while an employee is watching me do this I finally ask her if the first one is working and she tells me No. So you watched me trying to use it and knew it wasn't working??? Put an out of order sign!! And then the next 2 I tried to use didn't work either!!!! Finally #4 worked. How about you do regular checks and make sure your equipment works. read more

Would rate zero stars if I could. I was charged $1 for 3 pieces of tape. When I questioned a manager about this policy I was told I was beat. I donated half of a share of their stock price to the toms river store so the next time you go in to ship something and don't have any tape, ask them for my roll, your tape is on me. read more
