This is my local Staples. Usually not coming in to make purchases in the main part of the store, but to make Amazon and UPS returns, and to pick up print orders. It's a mixed experience, which is why I give it the rating that it does, but by no means will I go to another location as this is probably the most convenient out of the locations that I've visited. It does seem like this location is pretty understaffed. Depending on the time of day, picking up a print order or dropping off an Amazon return can require a longer wait than you'd expect. However, customer service here is top notch. I don't ever leave having not felt helped or even welcomed. Staff do a great job despite the crowds they have to get through on short staffing. I will say one knock that I have is that sometimes our print orders do get fulfilled inaccurately, varying from missing lamination or misaligned prints or cuts. However, every time that we've raised the issue, we've been able to get a print replacement, just at the cost of some additional time. read more

Pretty busy store but the staff are friendly and helpful. I had a heck of a time trying to find "fragile" stickers which I needed for something I was going to hand carry onto an airplane. It took a while, but we finally found them. read more

I purchased ink from Staples at 5 PM today for $67.45 and installed it in my Epson WF-4833 printer. However, the printer is now displaying an empty ink message, and I am very disappointed. read more

I love this STAPLES store at 23rd and Oregon Avenue in Philadelphia, as well as the STAPLES store at 15th and Chestnut Street in Philadelphia. Both stores have excelled at making sure items that I need, or that I have purchased, are the best value for my dollar. I do believe STAPLES gets less than exceptional ratings from others because those customers did not plan, instead they excepted STAPLES to jump when they snapped their fingers or they were in a hurry. Those customers expectations are ridiculous. I do not understand how customers do not own their own printers but then they want to complain about STAPLES Copy Centers. I do not understand how customers do not use the United States Postoffice, or a UPS Store, or a FED EX Store and instead use STAPLES to send important items and expect everyone at STAPLES to know everything about those other companies as if the staff are the experts at everything. The customers who have those expectations are always those who know nothing about business or life. I love STAPLES because if the prices for items are good enough for small businesses to save money then the prices for items are good enough for my home to save money. Their rewards program is amazing and many of my household needs are fulfilled at those low business costs OR FOR FREE due to their rewards program. I mean, I just went in to print something on 2/1/21 and I as blown away. I've never experienced better service anywhere in my life! The guy working in the print center (didn't get his name) was so professional, kind and hard working . He had a line a several customers that needed his assistance and he gave us all outstanding service. He said he used to play football, was getting married soon. I wished I asked for his name. I told him Staples was very lucky to have him. He printed a FedEx label , told me which FedEx was closest and saved me so much time. I came here on a Saturday morning to get a file cabinet & there was only one worker on the floor, Kelly. She was so helpful! Even though she was the only person working, she did her best to help us. I can't believe they are still in Businesss with this kind of service. It took me 40 minutes to mail a single letter by ups . I stand there for 30 minutes before anyone knowledge me , then the employee try to convince me that #ups don't deliver on Saturday. Finally after I'm done entering my info , He's busy helping somebody's else's . Then he go t another one while I'm standing there . So I ask him to pass the receipts so i can pay. For it and leave . Well he came to lecture me about yelling. Then he walked away while I'm still standing WAITING. So I ask for a manager who don't care either . When unexplained him the situation. No, dont ever try to get anything done at this Staples. It's a real disaster. You will wait 40 minutes for 3 pages of copies, you may wait 2 hours in the store to try to get a resume printed- you could try self serve but good luck getting anything done. On the day I went in May there were at least 10 people sitting around waiting- one woman had been there for over 2 hours. I would say I spent about 2 hours trying to print one or two photos. Not many people really wanted to help. It was almost a "sorry we're busy and we don't actually WANT to help you" scenario. They were pretty rude, actually. Asked for manager after a while, he said I could get my order printed today but would have to pay 30 percent extra. That is fine I said. Well, it did not happen. To print out a picture they said you'll have to come back and pick it up another day. Absolutely under no circumstances should you go to this store, ever. Unless you're bored and simply want to waste hours of your time ? UPDATE. After wasting 2 hours at this Staples, I decided to try a different Staples on Deleware ave which did the work very well in under 2 minutes. UPDATE II Staples has a robust online presence and spins off quill or other office supplies,yet doesn't really sell anything all that exotic or that couldn't be supplied in record time from a competitor like Amazon. My prediction for the next three years is that Staples will be going out of business, losing the fight in the internet domain to competitors like Amazon and will be forced to dump these huge overhead retail locations to another company such as office Max or something similar in order to stay afloat as a firm online. Big box retailers such as Macy's and Sears' recent closures coupled with poor hiring practices and last ditch efforts on the part of the chain further illustrate my point. Yvette in the copy center = 5 stars Management of this place = 1 star Typical of most corporations these days, Staples is making more money by hiring fewer staff and having one woman do the job of three people. The customer suffers but the workers really suffer and for that reason I'd love to take my business to a mom and pop shop. But back to Yvette in the copy center. This woman is the queen of multi-tasking: she laminates, prints, sends packages, and makes banners all at the same time. I went in two days in a row with last minute orders and each time she was serving more than five people at once. She is fast, knows her business, and is super friendly. She knows the machines inside and out and pays attention to the details. She gives tips to customers on how to save time with layout and design. This woman deserves employee of the year award and a huge bonus. There is no reason she should have to run in order to keep up with orders but she does anyway with a smile on her face. Staples, treat your workers better. You don't deserve Yvette but you are damn lucky to have her. read more

The gentleman who was working the floor in the Copy Center was courteous, albeit very relaxed in his approach to assisting. The Center itself is rather cramped, a bit run down, and on the dingy side. Machines are older models. Computers are on the slower side. The paper in the printer (at least the black and white one) is a lower level stock. Quite thin, compared to standard stock you would find in a corporate office (which is the kind EVERY Staples, Office Depot, or Kinkos I have EVER used ANYWHERE in the country has offered). If you can find another option for your printing/computer needs, use it. If you can't, this will do. I wouldn't use them for a professional presentation or printing resumes. read more

I really like this Staples! It is only a few blocks away from my home, and is a great place to get organizational items for home office/etc. Because there are quite a few schools in the neighborhood, and it is much closer than the one on Delaware Avenue, it seems to have a great supply of fun, cool colored binders, pens, etc., and is ALWAYS packed from August-October. I myself am a recent college grad (woohoo!), but still love their awesome school supply section. What can I say? Guilty pleasure!. It has a great range of things anyone could need for a home office/normal office, even though the space is on the smaller side. It's normally very quiet, without many customers to create mass confusion besides the normal back-to-school times, and the employees are very helpful without breathing down your neck. When I was an unpaid NHL intern, I took it upon myself to reorganize the hopeless mess that was my department. They all were endlessly grateful, and I saved my sanity without breaking my bank, since I was a poor student still. And now that department is brightly neon "-coded" about 20 different ways! (They didn't want to do it themselves or even pay us - therefore if I'm paying and doing the hours of organization on my own, I pick the colors - they ended up with 30 different shades of hot pink and lime green binders and dividers. I could not believe this. When I was able to upload files to Staples.com with JPG extension, store staff told me that she could not print them, and she told me that the uploaded files were PDF. What an excuse, when she has not printed any of my files after 6 hours I uploaded my files to Staples and made the purchase. Despite of busy day that the staff might have, she could easily tell me that the works has not been done yet. What pissed me off more is, she told me that printing posters does not take much times. Yet, my posters were being postponed for one more day printing, very bad service. read more

The WORST! Went here to ship my passport for renewal to avoid post office lines. Service was terrible and to top it off - my package never left the store! Dropped it on Tuesday with estimated delivery of Thursday (being picked up Wednesday). Checked tracking for my Priority 1-day shipment and it just said label had been created. Called and the employees said it should have been picked up yesterday because they picked up yesterday. Asked him to look for my package and he found it and then said they didn't come. I find it hard to believe the USPS didn't pick up two days in a row (Wednesday and Thursday). Going to pickup my package after work to hand deliver to the post office. You can't imagine how angry I am - and to top it off, it is my passport! read more

Barbara from customer service had to be the sweetest person I've ever encountered. I called to see if the store had any more transfer paper, she did not keep me on hold long at all and confirmed the store had what i needed. When i picked the paper up she was very knowledgeable about the product she was selling and made sure i was not purchasing the item by mistake, made sure the item worked well with my printer. Seriously? Tried to use their shipping service here and Donnell at the shipping service desk could not be more unhelpful. Maybe he loathes customers coming and bothering him, maybe he was having a really bad day, I don't know but I put everything back and left immediately. They leave one register open for a ton of customers and offer 50 percent off second ink cartridge yet they are sold out of a lot of the ink, I had to buy a double pack and was offered no discount even though technically I still bought two cartridges but what choice did I have? I went to go get some poster work done for my studio. Figure they were in the neighborhood and I would give them a shot. Job was supposed to take 2 hours, it took over 12 hours and when I went to go and pick it up the color was completely off. When I confronted the tech about the colors he told me oh know they look the same..( thought to myself we have a problem this guy works at print area and can't see that there is two different colours) Manager finally came over look at the print he says I will redo it come back in 2 hours. Went back and I was told they weren't able to match the colors need the original download file , and I politely ask them how could you not match colors that it was your stock print they had no answer.( its funny to see two guys just stare at one another with no answer...) Being in business for myself I figured I would give them a second chance, decided to get some more work done at the same location. My order was placed at 2:54 p.m. to be picked up in 4 hours, went to go pick it up at 7:35 pm it was not printed yet girl told me to come back in 20 minutes. went back over an hour later and it still was not printed. well as you could see I am NOT happy with the customer service at this Staples. Absolute disgrace of a store. I don't often write reviews but this place is a joke. Twice this week I went in looking to have a document scanned (about a 30 second process) and was told the wait would be two hours by the same miserable and rude man. I have been going to this store for a few years now on a regular basis. Wow how the store took a turn for the worst. The customer service in this store is absolutely ATROCIOUS. There is nobody walking the floor to help you locate items. I had to go up front to ask for help after pacing the isles for 10 minutes and the unpleasant frowning miserable workers grudgingly point you in a direction. This has happen to me the last 3x I was in the store. The workers have the worst attitude every It must have been a job requirement. The last time I was in the store , I was alone searching for my item and tried my hardest to find it so i wouldn't have to go up front and deal with negative helpers (a use that word very lightly) and the staples employee did not look up from his own personal phone. I ask for file dividers he said and I quote "huh, what ..I don't know try back near the middle" I said the "middle" he said "uh huh" never taking his eyes off his personal cell phone .. I thought it was a one time thing but nope last 3x I was there , this store is filled with ignorant negative unhelpful workers who don't want to be there and nobody in the isle to help.
