Well I went in there getting a copy me for something that I have to send a eBay then I realized I didn't have $.34. So they wanted me to put $.34 on Apple Pay which I thought was ridiculous. Normally they would give me a copy if they have an extra one or something so I was surprised they wouldn't let me get it so and he said what you want to get it to free with an attitude. I said no I will bring the $.34 in tomorrow I just wanna get my paper. So I think they really suck over here at Staples it's just different people I miss the old people that used to work there it wasn't a big deal to them I mean $.34 is nothing I could see if it was you know a few dollars. This is going to highlight the negative and positive: NEGATIVE: Starting with the print shop worker named Logan, a young unpleasant female associate with an attitude. My first encounter with Logan happened when I was trying to get the obituaries for my mother's funeral printed, she was already impatient and made it very clear with her energy she did not want to be there, nor really felt like helping anybody to where I was scared to even ask her too many questions. She had that "What do you want" attitude with everybody not just me. Not only that she told me the prints will be done at a certain time the next day instead of same day pick up even though I got there early in the morning. Not an issue at the time; orders get backed up, stuff happens, not enough staff etc., but come to find out when I called the next day to make sure the obituaries were done by noon like Logan said, they weren't going to be ready till three hours later (OK fine things happen, glad I called so I can make other arrangements). My second encounter with Logan is what did it. When I tried to order more obituary prints from online. I called the night before to make sure I was doing it correctly. The nice print associate (most likely George) told me to put down notes along with the file upload and if there's any problem or questions they'll reach out to me. I had somebody else pick up the obituaries the next day, when I saw them, there were blank pages and the rest of the content was put in the wrong place. So when I called Staples to see about getting it corrected unfortunately I had to speak to Logan. When the phone rang, she answered. "Hey Veronica" like she knew this call was coming and she was already tired of me even though this is our first phone call. When I was trying to tell her the situation with the print. She was like "what's the problem what's wrong with it?" Just as agitated. I told her what was wrong and I was explaining that I put in the notes to call me if there was an issue, and how can I go about rectifying this. Instead of just telling me to come back in and we'll fix it, all she did was talk to me in a disrespectful tone and told me what I did wrong...that I didn't choose the right number of pages and my notes didn't even make any sense. Even when I had to calm her agitation down by telling her, I'm not trying to argue or place blame while reiterating to her that this was in regards to my mothers death (that girl could care less). Logan then asked me when I was going to come back in, and I told her within an hour. She then told me I can't pick up the prints until tomorrow evening because only one person will be working there and they will be backed up with orders. She still was just disrespectful and dismissive when getting off the phone when I told her thank you and goodbye she said "Uh huh" and hung up in my face. By that point, I was done... I was flooring it in my car to Staples and my blood was boiling and was ready to speak to a manager, because if I had to speak to Logan, I know it would not be pleasant in more ways than one, and she was going to see what a real attitude looked like live and in color. I came in there so upset I couldn't even acknowledge the nice greeter at the front. Luckily for her she was not there. Long story short (too late lol), I just got a refund. Come to find out there's been other complaints about her from other customers. The crazy thing is everybody else who works at the print shop is actually nice except for her, so hopefully this review will help Logan with her perpetual lack of good customer service skills and human decency, though I highly doubt it. POSITIVE: Now for the positive real quickly, thank you to George and the rest of the nice gentleman who worked at the print shop not only from my encounter, which was pleasant and helpful including over the phone, but also I see the way you treat other customers on numerous occasions. I know it's not easy working customer service from personal experience but you don't let that reality affect the way you treat other people who come to you for help. read more

Well I got right in and out with what I needed, so I was a happy camper. I'd never been inside an actual Staples store, although at work we order all our office supplies through online procurement. DO NOT use these people for printing if you can help it. I ordered shower invitations a few weeks ago, I gave them an explicit list of how many of what file, etc, it took THREE trips to get it right. Unbelievable. Unfortunately, I used them again today, and, of course, even with a detail of how many of what written out, they shorted me AGAIN. When we dropped off the order, my daughter caught the fact the clerk who took the order missed an entire section!! Does anyone there double check their work? When I picked up the order just now I was not surprised, I counted the copies at the counter and lucky for me, an intelligent clerk was able to make up the difference quickly. Sorry I did not catch his name, tall, dark and handsome and smart, working the evening shift. He should be praised. The girls who work during the day? Useless. They don't even know how to count. I'd rather spend the morning on a really good printer than put up with these people again. The print area manger should be advised this is obviously a continuing problem. This store has the Monopoly in Merced as far as office and school supplies goes. Sure Target and the ever dreaded Walmart have SOME things but for a one stop shop Staples is the store. Unfortunately the customer service is a joke. Apparently working here is like being royalty because the employees I have encountered think they are the kings and queens of the paper clips. I found myself repeatedly apologizing for having to ask for help buying a stupid copy machine card. I had one of the best customer service experiences that I think I've ever had at Staples. I needed some menus printed and taken care of today I was told differently by the printing area that they wouldn't be able to do it until 6 o'clock and I was getting very frustrated, and that's when a customer service rep named Scott came to my rescue weather he knew it or not but he helped me and was very efficient he knew what he was doing and I could not think him more enough then leaving this review and leading the managers know. I will definitely come back to this Staples for All of my business needs. I know things can be stressful during the holidays and he exceeded over and above I'm sure his job. This past Saturday I visited Staples (in Merced) in an effort to find a checkbook cover. After searching for several minutes I asked an employee where their checkbook covers were located. He said that Staples didn't carry checkbook covers. Surprised that they didn't, I responded, "Really . . . I would think that would be something that you guy's should carry." As I turned to walk away, and the employee was entering the back room, I easily heard him say to another employee, "Really . . . I would think that would be something that you guy's should carry" in mimicking my earlier comment. By the time I turned and reached the back door, he was gone. I asked the one employee the name of the other and was told it is Craig. Mimicking someone under your breath is one thing, but don't be brazen enough to do it so that a customer can hear it and feel disrespected. read more

Horrible costumer service each time I go. Staff are unattentive and interested. Looks like they really hate their job and it showes through their faces and ugly attitude. I get pissed every time I go there. They don't bother to acknowledge you at all from the time you walk in the door, even when your clearly staring at them waiting for help. They just stood there acting busy when there's clearly no one there but me, I didn't even get a "one moment please and I'll be with you." I was ignored! Wasted 30min standing there staring at the copy print staff to stop staring at the screen and playing with her damn supplies! When other costumers came they had a hard time figuring out how to use the self service but was ignored. In the copy and print center, employees seem stressed out and in a bad mood (every time that I've been in). I wish i could give them a ZERO! I went in on friday afternoon the 16th. Looking for a laptop they had on sale. Intended as a xmas gift for 15 yr old first timer. It was only $229 and was pretty basic. I felt it appropriate. So first they say they have it and 2 other that were similar( more ram/ harddrive space + $40 more) cool! Nope, they actually have neither. Only the floor models, dnt want those. Cant sell them anyways. So im offered to order one online, "can have it here by Tues the 20th", and they say this with absolute confidence! ok cool. Had other shopping, it was getting late. So we left, disnt make it back before closing. Instead woke next morning Sat. Jumped online ordered laptop. ( my thinking, if i had ordered last night for tues delivery, then at the very least by ordering on sat i may have to wait until fri...ok fine...really want this laptop.) So couple hours later rep calls me to inform they cant complete the order, it's out of stock. Ok i knew this, so i informed him what the store rep's told me, dnt remember his name, i remember his teeth..... Puts me on hold, comes back few mins later....i wont be charged but can't give me an ETA, but order will be on hold until they get one, i will receive an email for pickup. If the store says this week then this week., brings me to Today 12/22...call cust service, tell her whats going on. Tells me my order was canceled by the system, bc they aren't in stock and have no timeframe as to when they will get one. Puts me on hold for 20 mins bc she is checking availability...! Needless to say i will NEVER shop at Staples again. BestBuy isn't all that much better either, they are the reason i ended up at Staples to begin with. They dont hesitate to spend 1 minute or hours, if need be, to make sure all your questions have been answered.
