There was an older African-American woman (possibly in her 80's) who was trying to return an ink cartridge (apparently she'd purchased the wrong one) the cashier wouldn't help her so she asked for a manager. When I I tell you that the manager Lydia treated this older woman like absolute trash in the street . Lydia was yelling, laughing , and totally embarrassing this poor old lady. The way Lydia treated this woman wanted me to step up and defend her but I was afraid that if I stepped in that the situation was going to get way out of hand. Apparently the older woman didn't have the same credit card with her that she had when she purchased the ink, so Lydia said that she couldn't help her. Now true, I don't know Staples policies inside and out but usually in a case like that the customer is offered store credit or cash; Lydia did neither. Again, it was just the way that Lydia spoke to the woman , it was absolutely disgusting . Had that old lady been my mother or grandmother and Lydia spoke to her that way, I swear I would've been arrested. So, after being yelled at for seemed to be 10-15 minutes the poor old lady left without being help in anyway at all. And to make the situation even worse, as she was leaving , Lydia yelled, "thank you, very much and have a nice day". I hope Lydia knows about Karma because the way unnecessarily cruel way she treated that poor woman was absolutely despicable. If these are the types of managers Staples is hiring it won't be long before they join the list of companies going out of business. read more

Went to CVS first and they told me to wait until line cleared but I knew that wasnt going to happen so I headed to Staples and it was easy breezy. I needed a photo for my passport and they took me right away. Great customer service, they were cheaper than CVS and I was in and out quickly. Thumbs up! read more

Came here to take my passport photo and make copies. The process was very quick! But their copy machines don't have an ID option to print both sides onto one page so I struggled a bit with trying to get that and paid a few times to try to get it right, but other than that, I would recommend Staples for a quick passport photo read more

Works for me, somewhat affordable and good service, they seem to close early though. I had to get a refund cuz some cards came out wrong, the file type made them blurry I guess. The Service here at the printing department is TERRIBLE. They always seem irritated when you ask them the easiest question. And it sucks because it's a Blk neighborhood. Staff response time is slow. They barely say hello. I came in for a return which should be quick. The lady at the desk had her back to me, didn't same hello was talking to, the manager I believe, Lanesha, Inesha, about some man she was missing. She never turned around. 5 minutes later, The manager says hello to me, staff interupts her asking for some boxes, manager points them out, staff is not sure where. I even turn around at this time to help find the boxes. Which were clearly right in front. You can tell from that interaction the staff is pretty lazy looks like the manager may not know how to manage young adults. There was a line of like 6 people looking frustrated and annoyed. I try to stay clear of places like this. Especially when it's something simple, because takes much longer than it needs too. The store is conveniently place by the Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw mall. The floor of this store is unbelievably filthy, my young daughter wore some white flip flops to the store and by the time we left they were black and covered in a tar-like substance. I've never seen an indoor carpeted space that is dirtier than the ground outside. We had to dispose of my daughter's flip flops after patronizing this unkept, understaffed store...avoid if you can!!! read more

I'm all about brick and mortar stores now they're slowly becoming extinct, but I have to say this. I arrived 5 minutes after they closed to pick up some very important prints. They refused to even acknowledge my presence while I was knocking, begging them to please let me have my prints. I could understand if it was an hour after closing, but 5 minutes? Never doing business with Staples ever again. This is why a lot of these corporations will not last against their online competitors. Very bad service, a young guy named Dylan was helping me, he was all over the place and very slow, despite the fact that they were customers waiting. I ordered 100 images on cardstock. I asked for a sample, he was unsuccessful for like 30 mins. Between that that he went to help other customers, without letting me know of his situation. No communication, just bad customer service. Finally he asked for help, a girl named Amy assisted him in the printing. I agreed to the image. Then he left to help customers, without providing any information of the order. I looked at him & asked that's it? He said yes, ready in 2 hrs. I asked him am I getting a receipt, I wish to pay for my order. That took another 20 mins. That evening I went to pick up order, it was no where to be found. The very kind girl, helped on retaking the order & getting it printed. The next day Amy called me stating that my order was placed after 2 & bc of that my order was not printed the same day. Very condescending, I explained that I was there way before 2. She stated that my order was placed at 2:19, when clearly my receipt states the contrary. These two individuals need extensive customer service training. Period. read more

Nice supplies here and affordable to some degree. Nice clean store. It looks well kept in this area. Great security here so that nobody is stealing supplies from the store. Very poor service at this location. There was an older gentleman in the store and did not have any computer knowledge about going over to the self-service printer, putting it on his email, then cropping the picture so that he could make a copy. This was an older man, and it wasn't busy in the store. They were three people in the UPS and in the coffee area that could've easily just made the damn copy for the gentleman. Instead, the gentleman had to interrupt me why I was making my copy at the self service copier. I am just getting sick and tired of these retailers that don't cater to seniors. They just push them aside like they're not important. NOT open until 10 p.m., despite the store hours on Staples' own website advertising as such. I went out of my way to drive here and arrived at 9:21 p.m. only to find the gate closed, although there were a number of employees and a security guard inside just milling around. After returning to my car, I saw three other people drive up and walk to the front door to find it locked, and no one inside even acknowledged them. There's nothing I hate more than businesses wasting my time, and driving here--prompted by Staples' posted hours online--was an utter waste. I opened up an ipostal1 at staples for my business. I paid and submitted all required notarized paperwork. It says that it will take 3 business days to finish completing my request. It's been 1 month !!!! I called and requested to speak to a manager or supervisor but no one is ever available or on duty and the workers have no idea how to help me. Had a package delivered to my box and the shipper is saying it's delivered but I have not received any notification from Staples or ipostal1 that they received it. You can imagine how frustrating this is for me as a new business owner. I will definitely be disconnecting my service. read more

Horrible serve!. Employees need to take a Customer Service course. The interaction is as if they are doing you a favor. And when you question them on the poor service, the immediately become hostile only escalating the situation. When you ask for a manager the person you are talking to at the time will always tell you they are a manager as if your only choice is the person you are speaking with. And nobody ever comes to the rescue. This guy tried to manage the copy area and the Amazon return area at the same time, the area became crowded in both areas and he never asked for help. There were two people working the register where there was only one Customer. Yet he tells me he sent his Employees off to take breaks because he could handle it. This was not the case. He had no idea how to maximize the use of the Employees they he had there and he could not understand why people were getting upset. I like to use stores in my area but sometimes I have to venture out because of the way this store treats those that come in. When I travel to the Wilshire or Westchester area I don't get the same energy as this store. read more

The most seemingly simple tasks, can be such a challenge for some -I'm not sure why! I ordered a rubber stamper to be made, in which I provided specific information to be on the stamper. The order form has individual squares, for one to indicate each individual letter, number, symbol and/or spacing. I filled out each square, for each line of the stamp I wished for them to create and the girl said she would email me with a confirmation of the stamp to be made before it's processed. I thought, "Great!" ...Take a silent vote in your head to either the people at this Staples location could get it right the first time... NOT. Sent me the confirmation and it was missing numbers that I included on my order form, so I sent an email back, indicating the correction of numbers that needed to be included on the third line of my stamper order. How could they miss all the numbers that I indicated on the form?!? My gut instinct told me to not trust the email, so I called the location clarifying the order and spoke with a gentleman clarifying my order. Do you think they got it right the second time?!? NOT. NOPE! -just couldn't get my order correct. When I went to go pick up my stamp, it ended up being just a blank/black stamper!!! OMG!!! Really?!? So I had to wait about 25 minutes (just FYI, I was on my lunch break) for them to make my stamper on the spot. I'd give NO stars or negative stars if I could. This store has been opened for quite some time, however it is a nice addition to have in the area. Customer Service is always excellent the staff are always willing to help and will find things for you. It is very clean and very well stocked, I hate rushing to a store and get there and they are out of some of the items I need. Not the case here, I have never had that happen to me at this location. They offer all the services that the other Staple stores offer. They accept all major credit cards, both credit and debit cards are welcome here. A double plus is the parking lot and at night time the parking lot is very well lit (which make you feel safe ladies especially if you are alone) I would recommed this store and I will continue to shop here. read more

If you are going to offer outside services, certainly offer them correctly and with nice customer service. I show up to use the UPS shipping desk. In the same department you have copy, fax, large print jobs and shipping. It's 7 people in line ahead of me and 3 people working the counter. I suppose I can't tell Staples employees how to do their jobs however, I've seen other places do things more efficient. If you have 1 person in line for UPS shipping 3 in line for self service copy and the other 3 for a large print job, I would think you would ask "anyone in line for UPS please step over here, print jobs on this side and paying for self service over there please. This way you breakup the line and the quick transactions such as paying for copies goes pretty quickly, and now you have an extra person to assist with the other 2 lines. Well of course that does not happen here. Just stand in line and wait your turn...for whatever service. So finally I get to the shipping desk and I have 2 packages. One with a prepaid UPS label, and another that I want weighed to compare with USPS rates. At most shipping places they can weigh it and punch in a zip code and tell you oh your prices range from this and that. Not here. The lady makes me use this computer to punch in all my information just to get a shipping price. I ask twice if I need to punch in my name, address, phone number, contents of package, and the recipients name, address, and phone number just for a quote. And she said yes. *sigh* So I do as directed. I happen to ask hey so what do you do about the elderly customers, I'm sure it takes them a long time to punch in all this information for a quote. She said yes it sure does, so I just do it for them. Oh wow, you give the elderly service but not me. Now don't get me wrong. Elderly or not, you do this all day, so chances are you are way more proficient at it than I am and you will be done a lot quicker than me too. So why not just do it for everyone or figure out how to weigh package for the quote. After all that work, the USPS rate was cheaper and I sent my package with the post office. I'm so glad I did because my second package took forever to get to the recipient. Otherwise the store always has what I need supplies wise. read more

Almost of the workers there are not interested in helping customers. You easily have to wait 20+ minutes just to ask a question. They told me I had to wait 1 hour to laminate 3 small cards and I was able to get in 2 minutes at a local mailbox store. It's insane how this store remains open!!! read more

Went into this Staples to use the store computer area. Found the credit card reader unplugged. Plugged it in myself, never came back to service. Moved to the next computer, it was not responding, found the keyboard unplugged. Was able to log on eventually. When it came time to print, the printer was jammed and flashing various codes. The employee claims people try to use the computers without paying first, and that's why the printer is out of order. This might be true, but the area needs to be better patrolled by the staff to ensure everyone is using the computer area properly. read more

I went in to return a canvas I had ordered online. A store associate named "Nearly" assisted me. She made it evident that this was her first time returning a canvas, which was okay. What I am unsatisfied with was her customer service. The first thing she does is question why I want to return the canvas and then tell me it is my fault that the quality of the canvas is poor.Even if that may be the case, I was still in my right to return what I didn't want.I had the receipt & item in its packaging. Instead of focusing her energy on completing the return, she interrogated me about my return with an attitude. She looked at me like I was crazy for trying to return the item, as if I was trying to return a used or tampered item. Nearly advised I would likely not be able to return this item. (Note: before driving to the store I called ahead and an associate from that store told me I would be able to return without a problem.) Nearly unnecessarily made my experience very uncomfortable. Finally, she got on the phone & inquired whether she was able to return this item. I waited until she came back to tell me I would be able to return. I gave one star because I was ultimately able to return the canvas. The other star was for the associates I spoke with on the phone and at the store entrance whom were pleasant and addressed my questions without issues. ----------------------------------------------- @Amber from Staples: After I left the store I was told I would receive a refund within the next few days. Since I did not receive a receipt in-store nor an email confirmation of this, I called customer service # to make sure I would get a refund. Honestly, this staples has problems. I don't know if it's the ghetto location or the fact that even the workers are ghetto and most importantly rude and not helpful. Only person who was smiling and willing to help me was this nice girl named Kayleen who went out of her way to even show me how to self print and gave me actual info. Other than that even the managers didn't care and were also unprofessional and didn't bother help me finding an item. He pointed me in the direction after telling him I already went down that isle, didn't bother to help me look just said we probably don't have it then. I had a HORRIBLE experience at Staples today when I went into the store to exchange my wife's Apple car charger. Staples has a 14-day return policy on electronics, but I did not know this. My wife bought the car charger on February 23 and today is March 28. I am 19 days past the cut off for returning it. Bryan Williams, the cashier, was very pleasant in explaining it and apologizing that the cord was not working. I went to talk to the manager, Kevin Riley, to see if an exception could be made. He said, "No. That's the store policy" in a very matter of fact fashion. What bothered me about Kevin Riley was that he was not kind like Ms. Williams or even trying to understand that my wife had just paid $14.00 for a little of nothing. I asked for his name and he then raised his voice and said, "Why do you need my name? I didn't do anything wrong! What did I do?" Kevin Riley was extremely rude, discourteous, and crass. I asked him for the corporate office number and Kevin Riley said, "She can give it to you" and he shooed away because I was bothering him. I thought that the customer was always right? Or at least, that the customer deserved to be respected. Kevin Riley is a poor example of what a manager at Staples should encompass. Our family will NOT be shopping there at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Staples anymore. I will also spread the word of how uninviting the store is in large part to Kevin Riley. read more

I own my error in accidentally leaving my ID (driver's lic.) on the copier, and I am grateful to whoever turned it into the staff. Speaking of, two hours after I left the store is when I realized I left it. I called and spoke to a young woman in the copy department who, after placing me on hold for a few minutes, said she did not see my ID nor had anyone turned it in. For three hours, I sat in my class worried and stressed out about my CDL. I came to the store after my class and met the lady who repeated that no ID was found. Then advised me to "Check with the manager because we have to turn in items like that, to them." Yet she had Never asked the manager? Who was a few feet, a phone call, an intercom away? Of course the manager had my CDL and again, I am grateful to the good Samaritan and manager, but the unnecessary stress I experienced due to a lack of common sense and/or laziness is inexcusable.
