This is a pretty nondescript Staples. The store is clean and well laid out, and the inventory was generally good, though perhaps a little skimpy in places. It feels like the quality of the office furniture is going down, particularly the desks. One thing that surprised me was the lack of employees walking around the store asking customers if they needed any assistance. This Staples is literally a mess. I can't describe the chaos at the service desk properly without inventing a few new adjectives. I'd blame it on staffing but I watched two employees literally doing nothing while the one open line backed up. I frequently need copies, and it is always a toss up between going to Staples or Office Max. However, the O.M. in Clifton Park closed so I gave this place a try. The self-service machines worked well (though the toner went out in the middle of my job and it took a couple of minutes to get it replaced and the machine warmed up again) and the auto-stapler didn't miss sheets. I go here a lot to acquire business stuff. Things like paper, pens (that always seem to walk away from my desk despite the fact that I am a single person outfit) and all the other trappings of the business world. I tend to find the employees of this particular staples to be helpful, but every time I go in to buy something, like a computer monitor for instance, they always seem to be out of stock and not willing to let display models go. My experience was unbelievable. Needed to have 30 copies black and white double sided fit to page. First person couldn't help me. It was beyond his realm of expertise. Got someone else to help me. He got someone to help him. It took both of them a half hour to shrink the page. They didn't even realize it was double sided. Could not line up the back side. I left a half hour later without any copies. Are you kidding. Did I mention one of the guys was eating his lunch while he was trying to make my copies. Sorry to bother you. Left Staples pretty pissed off today (3 times). I ordered same day business cards (yesterday). I look this morning, and they are still in process. I went to staples to inquire about the cards and the guy pointed to them sitting on the counter and said they just need to be cut. I said "okay, no problem, i'll be right back." I come back a half an hour later, and they're sitting there in the cutting machine. A woman behind the counter just blindly threw them in the box and handed them to me and said i'm all set. I thought it looked like I was missing a lot, so I went to my car and counted. I had less than half of what I ordered. I ordered 250, I only had 120. I went back inside and said i'm missing half of the order and she again, blindly, goes and throws more in the box and says "sorry about that." I said "are you sure this is all of them? Did you count them" and she looks back over at the cutter, and grabs another small stack and puts them in the box. They completely neglected to count these, and were willing to let me walk out of the store not twice, but THREE times with the incorrect amount. It's completely irresponsible to not count the cards, as well as not check the quality. Several of them had a white border around the black background that wasn't supposed to be there. Watch out! They advertise - and have a sign - for $10 off and free shipping on any printer cartridge that is out of stock. It is very hard to track the $10 they take off the sale. A little comes off every item. Silly really. read more

NEVER GET ANYTHING FIXED HERE!!!! Save yourself time and aggravation. I had them fix a cracked phone screen . . . long story/short, they couldn't turn it back on, then had it sent away for a week. I didn't have my cell phone for a week. They give me a (scratched up) new one without any of my data, phone numbers, or photos. The manager promised to give me $300 for store credit just to get me out of the store. Later, corporate hides behind their contract saying they can damage whatever they please without recompense. Had to return to the store several times and spend hours on the phone to get shifted aside by corporate. Don't use this store! read more

Customer service at this store is nonexistent! I tried to work with the store managers for several weeks to resolve a purchase issue & all I got was a run around. The manager I had to deal with will smile to your face & lie the whole time! Worse customer service I've ever received ANYWHERE EVER. I will never do business with Staples stores he manages. Store Manager was extremely rude and aggressive! I called in on behalf of a non-profit organization with questions regarding gift card donations. The store manager whose name I believe is Mary was very dismissive. She stated that there was no such program in place. I began to explain that the Staples webpage refers customers to their local store for further questions about the program. She began to laugh and said "why are you calling here asking questions if you have details from the webpage". I told her that I didn't find it funny being that my organization participates in giving back to those who are less fortunate. She only responded with "just send a letter to me then". I was confused because at first she said they didn't offer the program, then she said to send in a request letter. I'm completely disappointed in Staples.
