Amazon returns are the only reason I visit Staples. Every month, they change the dropoff location in the store, and this month it's one person working two registers. If you're making a purchase or dropping off an Amazon return, you'll have to get in that particular line. Dropping off a return today the associate didn't acknowledge or greet me instead she picked up her phone and carried on a conversation walked to the Party City register to attend to a customer who was already waiting. She then returned to the Amazon register, still not speaking and accepted my returns. Giving her credit she did say Thank you, however she didn't inform me that they no longer give receipts for returns and that I would receive an email within 24 hours from Amazon. Friendly customer service, but so may items out of stock or just simply lacking inventory. There's a bit of sales going on for electronics like printers, so potential to pick some items up for great values, but the store overall looks like it's not doing too well. Great place to drop off your Amazon returns. Never waited in line more than 10 minutes. The staff seem to be quick & efficient with their processing. read more

The store signs say they're open till 8 PM. I arrived at 7:55 PM and the doors were already closed and they wouldn't let me in. I had to come back today and the manager on duty told me they close at 7:56 7:57 PM! what? I said the sign says 8 pm and she turned around and walked away from me! This is not how to treat your customers and she shouldn't allow her employees to close early. It's obvious that the store manager does not know how to run a store simply because it was a full of trash; boxes and garbage everywhere, messy and unorganized. read more

Who ever the manager was on Memorial Day 2024 is a liar. I tried to return my Amazon package at their ups store and he said it couldn't be returned because the QR code didn't say staples on it. I called their headquarters and they told me it doesn't need to say staples on the QR code and they should return it. Guy had such a bad attitude and smug when I wanted to speak to his manager. Their printing service is a lot faster than Office Max/Depot. They printed it faster, and pickup was a lot smoother.

I know, I know. This is a office supply store. You walk in to the smell of copier paper, erasers, and new chairs. But I love it. Going school shopping was a favorite time of year for me. Not for clothes or a new Trapper Keeper or some kicks, but for notebooks and pencils and pens. These all represented new possibilities. What would I learn? What would I write or draw? I didn't know yet, but I had the blank canvas that made it possible. That being said, of all office supply stores, Staples is my favorite. I've even worked at Office Max at one point in my life, but I love options at Staples. There is everything you need and then some. Computer/Tech Support, chairs and desk, every writing apparatus under the sun, 100's of planners and even mini frigs and safes. Sure you could order this stuff online, but take a few minutes and shop for it in person. Maybe you too will remember the yesteryears, when school supplies were purchased in person. *Insider's Tip -Come in the morning or mid day. No one, and I do mean no one, will be there (except the Staples team of course). And the traffic will be less congested getting in and out of the parking lot. read more

So this review is long overdue. Copy center staff rocks. A couple of years ago I had an event looming in two days and realized I was out of business cards. Not low, OUT! I designed my cards online, two sided premium weight, and picked them up the next day. This is the third time I have ordered my cards from Staples, and I doubt I will ever use anyone else. I went in and there were three employees sitting in chairs, office chair display. Finally one guy asked if he could help me and I told him what I was looking for. He states that they didn't have any in stock and advised me to look online. I inquired as to similar items, that might be in stock and his response was something of the order of: "You can find similar items online too." Prior to a week ago, I would have rated Staples three stars. However, my Staples Rewards came into play. When I visit they ask me over and over do I have a Staples Reward card. I say "Yes," they scan it and I'm on my way. I always ask "Am I missing my rewards?" But I received an email recently with about $25 in rewards. Yaaayyyy! I did my happy dance and hopped into the car to get some office supplies. I used them right away because I just felt like letting then linger would eventually make them disappear. As you can see, I visit the store a lot. They always have what I'm looking for. The staff is ok. Most of the time, they have no idea what is going on. Especially, the copy center staff. So, I've found somewhere else to go for my copy needs. The store is organized. Great parking. It's clean. If you don't find what you're looking for in-store, you can find it online. You have the option of having items sent to your home or directly to the store. Both options are a plus. I'll keep visiting if they keep the rewards bucks coming! read more

Not that I HAVE a favorite Office Supply Store, but if I did, Staples would not be it. They are average. Average value, average supply, average stock... SOME interesting and unique products but this location tends to be messy and disorganized which makes me not want to stay in there long enough to really look at everything. It is very frustrating to go shopping at Staples take an item off the shelf that is one of their empty boxes and wait in line and then find out they're not in stock. So you go back and you find a different item on the shelf that has an empty box and you go and wait in line again just to find out it is also not in stock. Is there any reason staples can't remove products from the shelf if they're no longer in stock. They tell me they leave them on the shelf because they can be ordered online. If I wanted to order the product online I would not have come into the store. The whole purpose of walking into a store is so you can know what is in stock to purchase it immediately and walk out of the store. Otherwise they could have a phone booth with the catalog and fire all the help. Then we could walk up to the phone booth pick up the catalog pick up the phone call and order what we want online. Please please if it is not in stock at the store remove the empty boxes from the shelf so we don't waste our time. read more

Circumstances have forced my hand to utilize Staples copy center once again. Once again, I feel cheated and underwhelmed by the lazy, sluggish customer service and general lack of attention to detail, yet demanding demeanor these guys pull off on what is appearing to be a regular basis. Verily, for once upon a long time ago I was overcharged for an order that was not the correct quantity nor type of paper, but this time couldst still be different. All that is needed is an open mind, right? Well, my open mind has begrudgingly given them a single star for at least going through the motions and not entirely screwing up what I'm paying them for, just doing so with all the luster of a used brown paper bag crumpled on the side of a Staples parking lot. For those interested in a blow by blow, here is my journey, read on: Called Staples, asked how many glossy postcards could I get for $100. Received a quote somewhere around $75 and was assured that I could customize the quantity produced to fit my budget. Nifty. Asked if I could place the order via email, since the files were ready, was assured a healthy "yes sir." Groovy. Asked what the margin and bleed requirements are for postcards. Crickets. Ok, well, I'll guess a quarter inch then and hope for the best. Asked what the dimensions of the postcards would be so I could get the aspect ratio of the files correctly sized. Was told the postcards would be 5.5 by 7 inches "I think." Um, okay then. I guess I'll roll with that. The worst that could happen is that I have to resize the files, right? The worst happens and I have to resize the files to the correct aspect ratio of 5.47 by 4.21. Receive an email in reply to my email with my phone number, the specific instructions of $100 budget, glossy paper, and attached files formatted to the correct dimensions. It's in all caps, because apparently they feel the need to shout. "HELLO, WE CAN SET UP THE POSTCARD BUT YOU WILL NEED TO COME IN AND APPROVE IT BEFORE WE BEGIN PRINTING. THANKS" Wait, what? I work 8-5... I thought I could order by phone/ email... Well... I guess I could make a special trip to the store if they have a proof they can show me. I call and they say they'll have a proof ready. Fantastic. I'm looking forward to this proof! I drive the twenty minutes out there and the proof isn't ready. "Come back in fifteen minutes. We'll call you." They don't call me. I come back in 25 minutes...."may I help you, sir?" Really? When she hands me the "proof" it is single sided, on the wrong kind of paper, and 8.5 by 11. Uh... How is this a proof again? I tell her as long as it is on glossy paper and postcard size it will be fine. "It'll be ready this afternoon or tonight." I really hope she meant the order and not the proof. "We'll call you." Oh by the way it will cost me either $79 for 400 or $109 for 500 since customizing the quantity is not allowed. What? But you said.... Ok, fine, I'll go with 500 and bump up $9. I call them back around six and they said it wasn't ready but that it was in progress and that they will call me when it is done In a few minutes. I ask what time they close and was told "9:00." I call back at 8:52 to hear the recorded message that "our office is currently closed." It's now mid morning the next day and I call back to see if the order is ready. "Oh, yes sir, it is ready. It'll be $79." What? I ordered 500.... "We'll have your order ready by noon." At 11:52, I miss a call from Staples, but decide to go anyway. By this point, I'm figuring that something is amiss, but I'm morbidly curious so I drive out to pick up my 500 postcards. Only, there is 400 postcards ready with low gloss and an employee telling me that the "additional 50" copies I ordered this morning are offset and not usable. Sigh. "We've been trying to call you all morning." Um... That one time eight minutes until noon? Ok, yup got me there I guess. When I asked them if postcards was something they did a lot of, they cheerfully replied that they do them all the time. The bill came to $80.99 for 400 copies, one dollar more than they told me it would cost. My advice to Staples is to fire the manager, or whoever is responsible for training the employees. The employees I dealt with were generally nice but not at all professional and lied to me multiple times as outlined above. Still, it is not their fault that they appear to be suffering from little to no actual management or supervision at all, nor have been educated formally in graphic design and business as I have. There is no way I'll be back unless someone else foots the bill entirely. read more

I had a coupon for 25% off my in-store purchase and went to look for a desk. Almost the entire display of in store desks were broken display models. As I was leaving, a staff member asked if I needed any help. I told them what I was looking for but complain that they had nothing in stock worth looking at. Diana at the printing center helped me out and the service was perfect. I had a printing job that I originally took to Kinkos around the corner but couldn't complete (their email service wouldn't accept my attachment for whatever reason). They had all the supplies I needed and the print job was perfect. She didn't even charge me for one sheet that didn't come out right (an accident on my part). Do not go to their Easytech department for any repairs. A 4 hour MAXIMUM repair turned into over 24 hours. They have defective equipment and no proactive ways to ensure their product is quality. There was no communication on the matter either. I had to keep calling to ask for the status with no true explanation of the issues. Do not bother with this place. Go somewhere else. Went to Staples to purchase a two drawer file cabinet. After searching for someone to help me for a few minutes I finally find an employee, says he has a customer up front and keeps walking. I walked on over to the other side of the store and found one more employee. He was actuaaly nice to me. We go over to the cabinets and I showed him the one I wanted, the cheap one, it was still in the box and one was not available to see out of the box. I asked if I could look at it before I purchased it. He said he would have to ask the manager. Guess what, the manager was the first guy that was rude to me. He said we could take it out of the box. I Love Staples!!! Especially their Copy & Print section

I ordered something online. Part of it was delivered, part of it they tried to deliver to the wrong address. The part that was delivered was incomplete. I went to the store because I had already spent 25 minutes on the phone dealing with the fact that they were trying to deliver to some address downtown for unknown reasons. The people at the store were amazingly rude, and the woman they had me speak to on the phone basically accused me of lying about not having received $15 worth of cardboard boxes. After over 20 minutes on the phone, she eventually rescheduled the delivery. At no point did anyone apologize, and while I was standing there a man and his wife came up to say they had been waiting for 15 minutes after an employee said he would send someone over to answer their questions. The woman at the service desk just said, "I didn't know you were back there"- no apology, no effort to fix the situation. The man asked to speak to a manager and she just ignored him. It was crazy. I just wanted some stickers and boxes. read more

I went to the store at 10:30 on Sunday morning to purchase Turbo Tax. The lady at the cash register was very pleasant. I then saw a sign indicating that the store repairs computers. I had been having problems with my laptop. I went to the counter to ask about it. The lady there was very pleasant. She indicated that the technician came in later and she asked the manager what time the technician was coming in. The female manager responded very rudely and gruffly, "I'm busy now" and didn't respond to the question at that time. I certainly didn't like that interaction. A short time later, the manager said he would be in at 11. I left the store and retrieved my laptop. I was back in the store at about 11:05. The same nice woman greeted me at the counter and said she hadn't seen the technician yet. About five minutes later, he came in through the door carrying a bag or satchel. She told him that he had a customer waiting for him at the counter. He glanced over at me and meandered to the back of the store. I waited a few more minutes and he didn't return. I left the store with my laptop. The next day, I tried on three different occasions to call the store to talk with the manager about the bad experience. I was put on hold by the menu system. The first time, I held for 8 minutes before hanging up. The second time I held for about 11 minutes before hanging up. The third time, I held for about 6 minutes before hanging up. No one came on the phone. I sent an email to corporate and had not gotten a response after two weeks. Something stinks in the Staples corporation. I used to do a good bit of business with them, They have lost me as a customer for good now. read more
