These people had my computer for 18 days, and 13 of those days they forgot about it, and it was just sitting on a shelf. Then when they did a data transfer to a new SSD, they lost a significant amount of data, some of which I needed for work that nearly got me fired because I was waiting those 18 days to get my property back. I honestly thought they were trying to keep my computer for resale. Watch out for that. Make sure you get a receipt and read the front and back particularly the ABANDONMENT SECTION. It was just one excuse after another. A Lot of gaslighting as if I knew nothing about computers. A little honesty could have saved me a lot of trouble (especially when it comes to losing your job). "(We made a mistake, our bad)"is too easy. They did not even offer me a computer to use while they were secretly trying to unf**k my computer. They did give me a small discount for labor cost, but (18 DAYS). I mean this is your job, have some pride and work ethic! I was as impressed with this business's performance as I was with "Raygun's" performance at the 2024 Summer Olympic Breakdance Competition. That being said, holistically.... now that America has turned the page from what was, and in terms of rightfully having the right to have dreams and aspirations, for better than what has been customer service in the before time. They are over priced. They tried to sell me a hard drive for 100 and I found that same one at normal price for 59 at Best Buy and were on sale for 49. They say they sell service but if building computer is one of their services, I wouldn't do it because they are too expensive! My old pc quit on me. Took it in and they quickly did troubleshooting to find that I had a dead graphics card. They worked quick and effectively and were very open and informative about the problem and my options to fix it. I am building a couple of computers for my kids, I researched online the builds I wanted found the parts and got prices. I like to support local business's so I sent in my parts list, expecting them to be a little higher but I'm okay with that. They were more than double. They wanted to charge me $860.00 per computer, all parts with shipping where $394.00. They wanted to charge me $500.00 more, that is not a profit margin that is price gouging. I have currently been to this store twice. The first visit was for a pair of coax to ethernet adapters... Which they had in stock.. I was amazed.. These units have been working well now for some time. The second visit I just happened to be in the neighborhood and decided to check on a couple of things that they might have. When we first moved here to Augusta they had someone working on TV's in his store , went to get our large 52" flat screen and he claim the man that was working on it had quit and stole the tv. I moved to the Augusta area two years ago and asked everyone where I should purchase a computer. Most people with whom I spoke recommended Computer Exchange. I went to the store in March 2015 in search of a mid-range laptop computer. Kyle Dillard, Sales Manager, provided me with excellent details of the various computers and their features in my price range. I decided on a refurbished Toshiba laptop computer. It was in excellent condition; was priced well; and had all of the features I needed. Since I had only limited experience with a laptop I asked Mr. Dillard if training was available. He said there were group and in-home classes available called Savvy Senior Training. I chose the latter. Ms. Holmes came to my home yesterday and provided excellent training on my laptop. She was very patient and provided helpful information and tips at my level. She also assisted me with troubleshooting a printer issue and provided recommendations on new printers. This place has gone down hill. My stepfather has had all his computers built here in the past. Last one 10 years ago. This time was hell. It took 7 trips to get things right. Oh wait nope are old computer now doesn't have windows on it. We just needed a data transfer to a new drive and pop it back in to a upgraded unit. Well we thought that was done. What happened to the hard drive. They forgot to put the new one in. The guy with the short guy with big glasses behind the counter. Seams to not give one care about your problems. Tells you lies. Until I finally let them know that am no dummy. I've been putting computers together since highschool am now 42. And two years of unneeded college since I was telling the teachers how to do things a different easier way. There tone changed then. And the shock in there eyes was comical. They up charged us from the original quote over $50 and then argued about it when we asked why even though they did not do more work or used any other parts. We had the original quote with us. They broke the computer cord too. They said it was not working and tried to get us to buy one from them. Before we brought the computer in, the cord was working fine. read more
