Got in town to Tyler from Austin sat on my glasses and broke them- ran out of contacts, well dropped mine down the sink! Blind as a bat! I was staying at the Hampton Suites and these guys were across the way. Walked in and was greeted with a hey... I just talked to you on the phone- let's see what I can do about those glasses. Huntington fixed my catty-wambus frames, then Bre sat me up with free contacts! These guys saved my butt I can't say enough really cool nice things about how wonderful they were/ are. Went in 2 weeks ago and had my eyes checked and ended up buying a pair of glasses and a pair of sunglasses, with insurance cost was $435. They have a good selection of frames and was happy with what I picked out. Went back today to pick up my glasses, regular glasses no problems. My sunglasses however were not in the frame I ordered. It seems they didn't have the frame I ordered so they used the same frame as my regular glasses. I am not happy with the sunglasses at all and have to choose another frame. Mick apologized for the error and told me to pick another frame and I could keep the wrong pair as a back up. By the time I choose another frame Mick was too busy to come back over to help me. After waiting quite awhile another man comes over and said he would let Mick know which ones I wanted and I can use the wrong sunglasses until the new ones come in. Just a question because the only other time I purchased glasses was from a real optometrist office and when they came in they had me try them on and make any adjustments needed. Not here, hand you your glasses in a very cheap case and you are done. If there had not been a problem with the frames they would have handed me the glasses and gone on to help someone else. I don't have a lot of confidence that the new sunglasses are going to be right with the lack of communication but will update my review when they come in. read more

I apologetically state that I was here to pick up glasses and told to enter through the rear door. I' seated in one of the "Let's see if I can see with these" booths. Glasses are brought out and they are GOOD!! * Day's mileage: 29   Time invested:  1 hour, 20 minutes * 34 days, 76 miles travelled (store is 4.5 miles from home), 5 hours and 55 minutes of time    This is crazy and unacceptable and one star is way too much! read more

This is the worst service and client care I have ever received from any kind of service company.after a eye test performed by Skype with a doctor who system kept freezing causing the exam to take over a hour. Then the person to order doctors prescription blew the order and the glasses(which took two weeks for second try at correctiñg their mistake a second time again...that's a month of waiting..id gone in to get restitution or satisfaction with more empty promise....now nearing a third month these clerks and managers have promised to make it right and over two and a half months i STILL don't have glasses. Promises, ignoring my request, swearing they'd be over nighted (twice without result)when after three months i became angry I was transferred to corporate who accomplished nothing and refered me back to the bad service in Stanton optical in Tyler. Where they said they had glasses in store and would overnight....completely no glasses since mid-may. I got glasses at Stanton Optical, and I absolutely adore them! One of the optometrists helped me choose them, and I am in love! I haven't had frames that I have loved for far too long. If you're looking for professional staff, a very clean environment, and tons of options, Stanton is the place. Naturally I went back for contacts and they fit me with the best contacts I have had in years as well. I do not recommend this place to get glasses. I was drawn in by the buy on get one free gimmick and I had to go back 4 times to get my prescription fixed that their online optometrist gave me. It was so messed up that I was giving me nausea. They tried telling me I had astigmatism. Second round: I have prescription sunglasses that I love so I took them to Stanton to get the lenses replaced. The customer service is great IN STORE but once you leave it feels like they forgot about you. The lady told me it would be done within a few days and I hadn't heard back (same situation as the first time) so I called them and the lady who answered sounded like I didn't have anything on my file and had no idea about my glasses at all. I was on hold for 15 minutes and then someone else picked up the phone and said "well we have until the 8th to get them for you because of our 14 day policy, so probably the 8th" something like that. I'm so mad right now I want to cry. I need them for a trip I'm about to go on and something tells me they won't update me about my sunglasses (like the first time) and I will have to keep calling and calling and wonder what the deal is. The 8th will come and go I'm sure. If you like babysitting the company you hire to do things for you, maybe this is your company. If you're willing to save a buck by going through numerous hoops then this is the place for you. My loved ones are banning me from doing business here again. read more

I had a very poor experience at Stanton Optical. It started with what turned out to be a false advertisement (2 pairs of glasses for $59 and a free exam). The middle had a pushy call center employee who had no interest in answering my questions, only pushing me into an appointment. It ended with frustrated tears and me leaving with no glasses. The running ad should seriously be clarified. I was seriously misled and disappointed in the shady salesman and outright false advertising online. read more

I came all the way from Texarkana to the Tyler Stanton optical for an eye exam and glasses. My daughter lives in Tyler, she was treating me to a late Mother's Day (due to quarantine). So much better than any in Texarkana. They were curtious, helpful and professional. Not a bunch of kids fresh outta High School with no experience or customer service, like most eye places. They helped me pick my frames, asked my budget and because we went over budget, they gave us a discount to get us back on budget. Awesome place read more

Wow! Incredible place! I'm almost in disbelief! I came in with my two daughters needing two eye exams and two pairs of glasses each. We got were not only taken care of my the most friendly staff all the way around but by some miracle from heaven above got to leave with our new glasses in hand! Same day!! I reviewed 9 days ago. My glasses were ordered on July 21, 2022, and I still do not have them. Customer service was awful and condescending. The Tyler store has never called to tell me they are ready. I called the 800 number and they called the store and found out they are ready. My husband called the store and they said no and then he told them we were told they were. Amazingly then they were ready. Will not recommend this store and will let my friends and family know of their service. Hopefully I will receive my glasses eventually they said they would send them to me UPS because we live an hour away. read more

Horrid. Absolutely horrid. Multiple visits for two pairs of glasses. I understand we are in a pandemic here but as an essential worker myself, there is no need for ruddiness. When picking out the glasses one lady had an attitude. Now I understand the 'resting bitch face' as I am cursed with one as well. But the attitude and mood that was set was upsetting. I can understand if it was a rush hour and she was understaffed. But they had just opened the store. I was the first to get my eye exam. First one out. I have a thick skin when it come to retail having been in it myself. I know and understand the marketing they do to up sell customers. You can go from $50 at a register to almost $200. During the sale she attempted to up the price throwing in all the cool upgrades to the glasses WITHOUT my knowledge till I asked about the deal. When I told her I just needed regular glasses with noting added her entire mood went from 100 to 0. I was ready to just pay for just the exam and leave. Suddenly my total from almost $200 went down to the actual deal I'd gone in for to $59.95. Now the first time I went to check, they told me to come back Friday the 18th to pick them up. They were not ready. I got a call on SUNDAY the 19th they were ready, on a day they are not open. I received another call today, Monday the 20th, that my prescription was ready. Keep in mind I ordered TWO pairs of glasses with the SAME prescription. No monkey bullshit added making them fancy and what not. Just two pairs of normal glasses with plastic lenses. I only have ONE pair. Ready and picked up today. I was told by the damage control AKA. the Brand Manager, that they would be at the store the SAME DAY at 2:30. The last time I was told this, they were not ready/not there at all. To say the least very, very pissed off. Giving a one star is not enough. read more

I was called on the 1st of August to let me know there would be a delay in my order. On the 5th I checked my order status online and it said my glasses were ready. My husband and I drove the hour to the store to be told that the online site was wrong and my glasses were not ready. We did some errands around town and two hours later I received a text that my glasses were ready. We drove back to the store just to be told there was a mistake. We left upset with no glasses and the manager not taking responsibility, but instead talking down to us and blaming the system. I received another text several hours later saying my glasses are ready. I am unable to get a human when I call, so I don't know if they are really ready or not and I'm not going to drive another hour one way to find out. Its one of those bait and switch type operations, they have hundreds of frames to choose from but only 20 that actually count for the 2 pair for $59.99 price, including eye exam, as advertised. I was on a budget that's why I went there, so I ended up choosing the buy one get one free since the 20 pair were hideous. Also in the BOGO it also included a free eye exam. SO I found me a pair of frames for $29.00 each and the two pairs of glasses cost me $128.00. DOUBLE what I was hoping to pay for. To top it off I did NOT see a doctor in person he was only online on a screen and was difficult to understand and was flipping the eye machine too fast for me. Went to Stanton because they were close to the house. Got the eye exam because it was free. While the selection of frames aren't the best, I managed to find what I wanted. The eye exam was done via a remote Optometrist, but was thorough nevertheless. They went over the options regarding lens coatings and I chose what I wanted. With 2 pairs of glasses, one being half off, the price came in around $200 less than what I paid for my last set of glasses. The frustrating issue with them, hence the 3-stars, was it took 2.5 weeks for the glasses to show up. I've never had to wait that long for glasses. Ever. read more

This is not even a real eye exam! This is digital and digital only and the young man had no idea what he was doing. They did an air test that didn't even hit my eyeball. The whole time they are pushing to go pick out your frames. Not once did they wipe down the chin and head rest! Then to add insult to injury they lost my insurance card. I guess you get what you pay for. I like Stanton because of the prices, but hardly any Covid precautions were put in place. There was a sign that masks were required but when I walked in not even employees were wearing them. I am not even 100% sure they sanitized the machines and eye exam tools. I looked around for sanitizer, wipes, etc and saw nothing. However, there was a bottle of sanitizer by the check in desk. The lady helping me check out completely took of her mask to talk to me and was constantly yawning. Unprofessional, unclean and disappointing. Whether you personally believe in Covid or not (can't believe I have to type something like that) as a business that conducts eye exams, there should be way more sanitation practices being performed. read more

As soon as I was done they charged me $45.00 under the guise of book keeping,saying they will credit me on my purchase. $89.00 for each lens. $99.00 for my two frames."One pair free" Their grinding machine was broken so no glasses in a few hours.My appointment was on Feb 10th 2016. One pair came in on the 11th another not due in until the 29th I had to call them 8 days after my purchase $267.00 and plead for my first pair to be mailed to me. They totally dropped the ball. Not a good first impression. I made an appointment with Stanton based off their mail ad for 2pairs of glasses for $69 + free eye exam. When I arrived at the store, this promotion was only valid for about 10 frames, none of which were appealing in the slightest. I don't feel like their marketing is honest. I felt pressured to use their buy one get one free promotion once told that I could get sunglasses instead of two regular frames. Due to a series of events, I had to go back the next day to pick up the sunglasses. I just grabbed them and left because I was in a hurry. This was a mistake. The glasses are barely tinted and do not look like sunglass lenses at all. I am seriously regretting my purchase! I gave them two stars because the eye doctor was excellent! HIRED AND LAID OFF IN TWO WEEKS DON' T WORK HERE Manger in Training Tyler, Texas Company's integrity is non-existent. Poor direct and upper management. Unprofessional environment. Empty promises and expectations. No official hands on training, only online modules. Commission compensation is only 1-3%. Store budget is so low that they cannot keep toilet paper, printer paper and cleaning supplies stocked. Unstable environment. After several extensive interviews, a month long hiring process I was laid off in just two weeks at the Tyler, Texas location. I was told that the company converted to a new billing system and upper management got moved around, therefore my position was eliminated and I was to be laid off effective immediately. However, I was told to stay close to my phone cause just maybe I would get my job back. I quit an existing full-time job and turned down several offers of employment to work for Stanton Optical because a beautiful picture was created for me of a growing company and a guarantee of promotion opportunities. I was offered a Manager in Training position with a promise of new stores opening in the Dallas area of which I would manage one. It was unbelievable and I'm still in shock that a company that prides itself in integrity and consistency towards its customers and employees would do this to an individual. An individual that is now on unemployment and unemployed because of poor leadership and lies from Stantion Optical. I'm sure you have a corporate response as to why it's okay and justified that you would do this to someone but, in reality there is no justifying this one. The actions of your leaders are selfish, immoral, inconsiderate, non-compassionate and, frankly ungodly. So now, I have worry about how I'm going to pay my bills and find another job. My wife is having to take a loan out on her 401-K just to get us through. Of course, non of you care about that cause you still have your jobs. I have used them once and my glasses were not up to par so they remade them. Against my better judgment I attempted to use them again but with the eye doctor in store. I called and asked specifically for an appointment with the provider but when I showed up I was told the provider is not there on Monday only on Thursday. I was upset because I live out of town and I had called and made a special appointment and for what absolutely nothing. It seems as though they do not know what they are doing and everyone is lost. They are hands down the best!!!! I had an emergency (riped one contact only had the two I wore everyday) I called americas best cause ive been there a couple of times thinking they might could help me. Nope sure couldnt and was very rude when i called to ask if there was any way i could be seen and the lady got really smarty pants with me loke i was dumb for asking. Anyways Stanton was the next eye place on the list so i called hoping they could help. Stanton helped me more then i could have ever imagined. When i called and asked to be seen today. They simply said no problem didnt even need to know it was an emergency already made an appointment for 12:05pm and it was then almost 11am. I get there and the people working greeted me asking if i was Mrs.Fisher. umm yea thats me. They had my exam done quick, every body in there was super friendly and helpful. The person helping me was awesome helped me apply for care credit so i could get everything i needed to keep my eyes healthy. As we are trying to find me frames and i wasnt sure what to even start looking at cause i havent had glases since highschool. And another worker came to help and others working was giving there opinions as well. Ot was super awesome!!!! I just want to go on record saying that I have never purchased a pair of glasses anywhere but Wal-Mart's Vision Center until today. I had always valued the cost as well as convenience of having an optometrist on site for the eye exam. This is what sold me, not their customer service by any means. I have worn glasses now for over 30 years and I had become use to mundane service without expecting more. The best thing that ever happened to me today short of waking up, was walking through the front door of Stanton Optical. I was one of those people you hate to see coming, grumpy and unhappy about having another expense this month. Even though my glasses were so badly scratched that I could barely see out of them. The nicer the people were to me the grumpier I became. I had just about talked myself out of staying long enough to see what the manager could do with the price of not just one pair of glasses but two. I had already convinced myself it would be impossible for me to be able to afford them, but low and behold I had not one but three of the best employees that I had experienced anywhere. I'm sure the other employees were giving the same or similar help because I didn't hear a single complaint the entire time I was there. But this trio made my visit exceptional. I want to thank LaToya, Carly, and Melissa from the bottom of my heart as grumpy as it may be more so than not for all their help. They listened to all my ramblings and stories I had to share. I do this when I get nervous but they all three took their turn with no complaints or eye rolling, they seemed genuinely interested. They made this old woman feel good not just about herself but the cost of the two pair of glasses I had chosen. I actually had to tell them to quit being so nice to me or they were going to make me cry. You know it is 10:40 pm almost four and a half hours since I left your store Mr. Stanton and I still feel good about my experience with those three lovely ladies. Again thank you so much for all of your help and warmth. Mr. Stanton, you now have a very happy and content customer that couldn't imagine going anywhere else in the future for her glasses and will encourage everyone I know to come to your store for their glasses. I hope you know the excellence and value of these three ladies as well as their compassion. Sometimes that's all a person needs to walk away from an encounter feeling blessed and that's how I feel even now. I had wrong prescription and I did get a new one but I am just disappointed with the whole experience no one checked my glasses for fit and I had to ask for card to check bifocals And like I said some lens insertion direction would have been amazing! I wanted to have a good experience with my first set but it was anything but.... went back to get glasses after seeing the other dr who did do a better job and 8 people walking around and no one offered to help for a full 5 min No one even explained or talked to me about bifocal height new glasses start way to far up but I think frame is a little narrow for good range. Horrible. Made 2 appointments for eye infection, they called and cancelled my appointment both times, telling me to just put a warm compress on it. They did not even want me to come in to examine my eye problems. Found another "real" optometrist who shad to treat my eye infection with antibotic, ointment and a procedure to get them to drain. My "new" optometrist said he gets a lot of unhappy patients from Stanton. I too am now a "Stanton Optical Refugee." If I could give Stanton zero stars I would. read more

I scheduled an appointment online which was awesome to be able to do. I hadn't been to the eye doctor in 5 years. Everyone was really friendly as soon as I arrived. Check in process was easy and fast. I did have a little bit of wait time which I had read from other reviews. The Doctor was virtual which was different but not bad. Lots of help trying to find glasses I liked and even got a great deal on a second pair. I waited about 20 minutes for my first set of glasses and go back tomorrow to pick up my sunglasses. They'll match any eye glass price you can find, and if that is all that's important to you, this is the place to go. If you care about your time, the service, or the experience...then not so much. We had an appointment and waited FOREVER. Each time we went in we waited ridiculous amounts of time and the staff was always just 'hanging out' when it came time to check out they charged almost triple what they said it would be when I scheduled the appointments and then when we requested just the prescription they hounded is until we ordered through them. They did match the price but because of the hounding, the wait and the ridiculous fee additions to the exam we won't be returning. read more

I live in Palestine, but the trip for eye glasses was worth it. In Palestine offices and Walmart when you walk in seems that you are not welcome, very bad customer service. I ordered a pair of sunglasses and regular glasses on 8/11/17. About 10 days later the sunglasses came in but the regular glasses did not. On 9/2/17 I went back to check to see if the glasses came in (because I never got a phone call the glasses were in). The glasses were in but when I put them on I could not see anything it was all blurry. They sent the glasses back and the last week of September I check back to see if the glasses were in and was told they were shipped 9/13/17. Today is 10/3/17 and I still have not received a call that the glasses are in. At this point I just want my money back because I will not ever do business with them again. I wish I would have read the posts before I choose to do business with Stanton Optical. read more

So it took longer to get glasses than predicted by the folks at the store. In their defense, I learned the glasses had to be shipped out to be built, and there was unexpected delays with that process. (These kind of delays shouldn't happen anymore as the store has all the equipment they need now.) After a week in the new glasses I can say they are excellent. Depth perception issues of previous glasses now resolved. (First time in over 5 years). I had them checked out by my optimitrist and they had been built perfect to specs of prescription. Patience doesn't come easy for me at times. read more

I was a walk in at this location today along with my daughter. We both needed to update our prescriptions. There was no doctor who will see you personally. They use a video chat feature. It was a terrible experience. As the person was talking to me, I kept explaining that the prescription they were trying to use for my right eye was not working because I could not even see the letters with the lenses they proposed. At the end of the process i told them I was not ever able to see properly out of my right eye. They still tried to convince me that i was done. They agreed to do some more work and later agreed that the settings were wrong. They also kept asking me if I wanted a prescription for contacts and I kept saying no. In working with one of the staff, they took my old prescription and added a little to get me where I needed to be. They also increased my bifocal setting which was giving me my biggest problem. Three and a half hours later they give me a prescription for glasses and contacts (even though I said I did not want contacts) that is essentially my old prescription without any changes. I questioned the matter since I knew my bifocal setting needed to be changed. They assured me that this was what the "doctor" who supposedly signed off on my chart without seeing me said my prescription should be. I was not comfortable with this because I did not feel that it was right. They messed it up too many times. Also, the customer service was terrible. We ultimately were waited on by the manager. I wanted to see what her reaction would be to this "botched" situation. If you expected her to waive the charge for this exam, then you would be wrong. She only offered to redo the exam the next week. Stay away from this place. I would give it zero stars if I could. read more

I have been waiting for over 30 days for my glasses. I was told my glasses would be 2 weeks. No one can find out anything about my order. I actually fell a couple days ago because I can't see. My little toe is so bruised and swollen I can't hardly walk. I have been on hold till I have to hang up, and have talked to and been promised to be called back more than 1/2 dozen times and it never happened. I don't know why someone can not find out where my glasses are. Will never go here again. Never had to wait this long in 30 years wearing glasses. Unbelievable. I finally got my glasses at 35 days.
