The only good thing about this company are the commercials. First they ordered the wrong frames, when they came and I wore them I could not see properly. I had to have another exam with a different doctor (who wasn't happy about having to redo someone else's bad exam). I asked them to wait to order the second while I wore the glasses for awhile to make certain that the prescription was correct this time. I apparently waited too long to get the other pair ordered so they are refusing to honor the 2nd pair free. I had stopped in several times but was told that my salesperson was not in and that I would have to come back to order the second pair. Probably made 6 or 7 trips and ended up with only one pair of glasses. Don't expect help from corporate, you will not get it. This was the worst retail experience of my life. I just took advantage of the special Stanton Optical is running to update my look and to get a long overdo eye exam. The showroom is clean and modern and located just in front of the Mall near Panera so it couldn't be more convenient. They have a ton of frames to choose from although I found there are many duplicates. I also noticed most of the brands are 2nd tier. You won't find any of the most popular designer names so I'm assuming they don't carry any of the Luxoticca frames. They have Timbaland, Ebony, CK, Skechers and a bunch of brands I've never heard of. I took advantage of the $69 special which is advertised to imply you get an eye exam and two pairs for that price. Be prepared to spend much more because the deal actually is a little deceptive. This is how the most most basic package works: For $69 you get an in-house eye exam which was quick but thorough. You also get 2 pairs of frames priced at $69 or less. There are a few frames in this price point so if you select something different, you pay that price for the package. Now you have to pay an additional $139 for the lenses. When this all done they quickly go over the checklist and mark everything as included but in reality they add $25 for UV protection and $25 for the Hardcoat/Warranty. For bottom price ends up being $257. This is a far cry from $69. The whole thing is done so smoothly I couldn't help but think it was a little like watching a short change artist at work. Like many things, most people will just go along with the program because you've had the exam and are already there. After seeing the two pair for $69 deal I figured I would give it a try. Two pair ended up costing me just under $400 and one of them snapped within a week of having them. They have a year warranty but apparently these frames couldn't be fixed. I was told that part of their warranty covered a replacement for the frames and it did, with an additional $55. After picking up my new glasses, which were crooked, the girl at the register bent my glasses and POPPED THE LENSE INTO PLACE to make them sit correctly on my face. The one star was for the pleasant eye exam. Eye exam went smoothly and optometrist Chad Mahaffey was professional. Receptionist was also pleasant and friendly, but then I had to go to the front of the store for the glasses. As far as the" special prices" and "free" eye exam, I paid up-front $45 for the eye exam which was then deducted from the price of the two pair of glasses. I was not happy with the selection of frames but settled on a second pair to get the "deal". Total cost for two pair was $547. That is a far cry from the prices advertised. Glasses were ordered on April 4th and I was told they would arrive April 18th. Well, they didn't arrive until April 30th. Thinking I may have missed their call, I called three times and even stopped-in once when I was nearby. Four weeks to get glasses is inexcusable. I've been buying glasses since childhood and have never waited that long. The excuse was they were "digital" glasses and needed to be examined. To me, it was a ridiculous explanation! When I finally got my glasses, the person fitting them to my face told me to "Bend your face over" and "...if they fall off, I'll tighten them." Really?? What would happen if they hit the floor and broke or scratched? I have never been fitted in such an unprofessional way! I will never go back and would advise others to stay away, especially if you have limited funds and want an inexpensive pair. This is not the place to get a bargain. I was impressed by the large selection of frames to choose from. I already had a prescription and I tend to know what I want so I was glad that the staff was friendly and not pushy at all. They allowed me to browse for as long as I needed and didn't try to upsell me or try to talk me into their buy 2 offer like another eyeglass chain in town did last year. I was impressed that I purchased on Sunday and the ordered was promised to be ready by Tuesday at 6 pm. I did not get a call as promised to let me know that my sunglasses were ready to be picked up. When I called, I liked that there was an automated system to check the order status. They were ready, nobody never called. When I went to pick up, I was handed the sunglasses and told: "you're all set". At every other eyeglass store I've ever been to I am used to trying on the frames, they check and adjust/tighten and then clean the lenses before handing them to me. Not here! I thought, no big deal but then when I went outside to wear the new sunglasses they were so smudged and dirty I couldn't drive with them! Those are minor things so as of right now, I would go back again but ultimately it will depend on how well the frames hold up over the next year. read more

My visit started off well with the eye exam, then it was all down hill from there. Ordered a regular pair of glasses and a pair safety glasses. After a few days the saftey glasses came in first, they were missing the side guards ( the staff apparently were not aware that the side guards are supposed come with them, much discussion insued) Sent them back, after a 3 more days the regular glasses and the new safety glasses come in. Regular glasses- screw is missing, they have to install new screw. Safety glasses- not even the correct pair, not even close. Wrong type of prescription and not even safety rated. Again much discussion insued. This time I'm told that I didn't order safety glasses. Well I sent those back. I'm unable to wear my new glasses because of this (2 different scripts old vs new pairs) So now 2 weeks later I go back because my safety glasses have come in. And again no side guards. I asked how hard is this? I just need the side guards, please just order those so I can wear my new glasses. Was promised that they would, well here it is 8 months later, nothing. I had an appointment for a 11:30. I did have to wait a little while but not too long. The lady at the desk in the doctors office was friendly and professional. The Doctor was ok. It was when I went in the glasses showroom that things went downhill. I had picked out a pair of glasses and was ready to purchase them and a years worth of contacts. I had insurance but was told I needed to get some sort of vision club plan and buy 2 pairs of glasses and not use my insurance. I told the lady I didn't want to do this I just wanted to purchase 1 pair of glasses. She told me that did not make sense because it was a better deal to get 2 pairs. I really don't like poor reviews , but the repeditive blatant disregard to my order is relentless. I traveled to Jensen beach from Sebastian 2ce to take advantage of the great value commercialized. The first visit was pleasant. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the optician was a enjoyable kind doctor. I was assured at that time my order would be shipped to me . 1 month went by and I received the annoying automated recording that 1 of my glasses were ready for pick up. I searched google from my phone ( more than once for this number) and kept receiving the appointment for eye exam line who cannot connect you to the front desk. Finally, retrieving the correct number, called and after the employee searched, finally found my order and promised they would be mailed. It arrived 3 weeks later.... The second visit was much to similar to the first. I had my prescription this time in hand, and after choosing my styles, the manager ADAM assured me there would be no further experience as my first. 1 month goes by, replay. But this time worse than the first. Robin told me they were sitting there in store and she is putting them in a box right now. A week goes by and when I call, they find one of my glasses sitting at the store. I waited on hold for 15 minutes to speak with Adam began " looking me up" and discovered one of my glasses were still at the store and the second pair couldn't be located. Then miraculously, they appeared and I insisted on holding while he supplied me with the UPS tracking #. Everyone is always nice; I wished they didn't fool you with the Free Eye Exam gimmick - you pay for the exam they just give you credit if you buy glasses from them. I use Care Credit to pay for my glasses and the clinic doesn't take Care Credit either so I have to take the $45 dollars out of my pocket because they don't take the vision plan I have either. It sucks because I will make sure everyone I know doesn't go to them. Sad, really sad! read more

My wife and I have been steady customers for years now and have noticed a significant DECLINE in the service extended to us. Recently my wife brought her glasses in for an adjustment and in 'repairing' them, the tech actually broke them! He apologized but stated that since her glasses were beyond the warranty period, the best he could do was offer a credit (not a full credit mind you) to her next pair of glasses! I was there yesterday for an adjustment by a staff member - Ira -whose customer service skills need work. He repaired my glasses (as I stood by nervously, hoping he didn't do as the previous tech had done with my wife's glasses). While this Ira was repairing my glasses, the woman named Tara, who I assume is the supervisor, asked Ira if he would help out in the front.....Ira went into a tirade about being overworked, how management should hire more experienced staff etc. all very audible - I was standing outside of Ira's work area and heard everything - not a good look to have staff arguing amongst themselves within earshot of the customers. As for my wife's glasses, she was told by Tara that they would repair the cracked lenses BUT she would have to leave them and wait for two weeks(?) which sounds ludicrous - at best. I'm hoping that someone will look into this matter and find my wife's prescription for her lenses that were broken by a Stanton staff member and order a new set of classes. read more

I called and they were accepting clients, that was April 17th and almost 2 months later I am still waiting on a pair of glasses. For some reason Stanton Optical loves lying to its consumers saying the eye exam is free and that you'll get 2 pairs of eyeglasses for $69 dollars. That's suck a freaking a lie!!!!! I have never written a review before, but this is by far the worst place to got for contacts. Started the process 8/2017 going in every single week till 11/2017 for a TRIAL pair of contacts because they wanted to make sure they fit.. Placed order for 1 year supply for another 3 months they kept losing my order. I order a 3 month supply get them in 4 days, wow shocker... I have had EXTREME problems. I can only wear 1 at a time, and when I tell you I am blind without them, that's an understatement. I have to wear 1 so my other eye can relax, because if I wear both 8 hours, my eyes become so red they burn. Its been hard to work... I go in to see what is wrong, and I sit there while they help everyone else. VERY RUDE in the back for contacts. I'm thinking about hiring a lawyer. My husband and I have tried NUMEROUS times to get an issue resolved that we've had with Stanton Eye since FEBRUARY 2019! On June 25th, 2018, my husband signed up for Club Membership for $396.90. These services went unused until February 11th, 2019, when he paid $24.66 to have a pair of broken glasses replaced. Weeks and WEEKS went by with him having to call the Tyler TX Office at 8988 S Broadway Ave #116, Tyler, TX 75703, (903) 765-6838 for an ETA on when they would be ready, and they kept saying multiple times that the order was either accidentally not processed, delayed, or the frames were no longer available, and any other excuse they decided to give him. This happened for so long, that my husband was forced to order another pair of glasses from a different company. We called about this to the corporate office in July 2019, NO RETURN CALL BACK. My husband's mother was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 as well, so we got preoccupied and were unable to continue following up with Stanton Eye. We shouldn't have to keep following up with your company. We called your offices on January 6th 2020 to try and get this resolved AGAIN, spoke with a man named Jay who promised he would call us back within the next 48 hours, and still today as of March 3rd, 2020, have heard NOTHING back. I just tried again to leave a message under the "Insurance" mailbox at the corporate line (561)275-2020 in Florida and was unable to do that because the mailbox is full! This is getting BEYOND RIDICULOUS. We are very upset with the lack of customer service and support your company offers and demand the following refunds. The staton optical sell is a scam, the eye exam is not free. You have to pay upfront $45 for the exam and then you're directed to the display room in order to select your frames. Supposely $45 will be deducted from your purchased of the so called $69 buy one get one free special offer. What they don't tell you is that there are only a hand full of unattractive cheap grandma frames under this special offer. They then knowingly allow you to search for hours until you find your selected frames, once found, they inform you that the frames you selected are not part the special offer and each frame cost over $150. You are then directed to a small display of about 10 glasses of horrendous frames from uglyland. It is a total rip off. read more

The staff members here are the most unprofessional and rude I have ever encountered. When we first walked in, we were not welcomed and were asked in a rude tone why we were there. I said I was there for an appointment and they told me to sit in the waiting room. Figuring out insurance was a disaster - the staff were very rude. The manager was on the phone at the front desk on the phone with customers or his own supervisors and was very rude and loud. Listening to his discussion/argument was not professional. After the exam (which was rushed but fine) they took my payment and told me to go have fun shopping. No one helped me look at frames, asked if I needed help, or explained any process after the exam. They knew it was my first pair and that I needed guidance but provided none. I walked around all of the cases and they all seemed very expensive and very cheap feeling. Again, no one helped or asked if we were ok. Also, one employee knocked on the bathroom door and said "hey are you taking a shit in there?" very loudly. When I couldn't find anything I liked I walked over to the group of 3 employees who were leaned over a table taking to themselves. I was clearly interrupting their social convo and they seemed irritated and did not acknowledge me until I said excuse me, I have a question. I asked to get my script bc I couldn't find anything I liked. He said "If that's what you gotta do" and walked away. Handed me the print out script and didn't say a word. I went over to Cohens in the mall (where I should've gone first...) and they helped me pick awesome frames that look great on me! I will NEVER give Stanton another dime. Had a 6 pm appointment. I arrived 10 minutes late because of the holiday traffic. I pull into the lot and notice no cars in the parking lot so I thought my tardiness wouldn't be a big deal. I was wrong. The guy at the counter greeted me with "I doubt we can't fit you in now that you are 10 minutes late, but I will ask the doctor." The went in the back and came back about 30 seconds later and said he couldn't get us on now. And would we like to reschedule? Are you kidding? Hell no! When I purchased my glasses in April, one pair was just not correct. The manager bent them several times after which I tried to see with them each time, to no avail. Finally, after being told that they were perfect even though I could not see clearly with them, I tossed them to the person, told them to use them and walked out. The frames on the "good" pair lasted until December 1, when they broke. I went to the Jensen store and was told "these are not our frames", therefore no warranty. Dog ate my glasses. So after calling around it was very challenging to find a place that would get me in within 7 days. I scheduled an appointment at Stanton Optical in Jansen Beach that evening. Picked out glasses and they were ready in 2 days. Total cost for 2 glasses + eye exam (which was $107 at another place) was $257, and I called my insurance company (VSP) and they said they will reimburse me some of the money as well. While the eye exam and doctor are very nice and professional, the "sales" area is not. 1. No chairs to sit, while waiting for your turn; 2. Assistant Manager had no information about available stock/inventory, other than "what you see is what we have". 3.. Was on very limited budget - the "come-on of Free Exam and 2 pair of glasses" went up to as much as $600+! Apparently my Rx is very extreme, can't be done at that price. Understanding that, wanted best price for Basic, serviceable glasses, at lowest cost. 4. First day in, the rep got it down to $149, with cheapest frame, and very thick plastic lens, not polycarbonate. 5. Went back next day, Assistant Manager was completely Unhelpful, lounged around when there was no other customers, eventually found a second pair of frames to my liking - from behind the sales desk. 6. Was going to place order and then the Manager said that it was Not the price, it was $249, and too bad that I was told $149 - take it or leave it. Decided not to "take it", and while leaving, heard the Assistant Manager and Manager laughing as I headed for the door. 7. Had eye exam and told I would get a call when my glasses were ready. They use an automated call system that called me yesterday at 11am. I go to pick up 1 of my 3 pairs that were ready I picked that pair up. I get another automated call at 5:30 that afternoon so I go back to get what I thought was another pair to pick up. I go am a clueless associate couldn't find it. First I gave her my name which is easy enough. She called me several wrong names til I said left me spell it on paper for you. Today my wife was nearby Stanton and was told they are not ready. I called at 11am and told I next pair to be processed and should be ready by 1 pm. I called T 5:40. Put on hold and then disconnected. Called and again out on hold for seriously 5 minutes and hung up. Called again and told they won't be ready until Monday The pair I was able to get the nose pad fell off in less than one day. My pair of prescription sunglasses they made too dark so I had to return them to lessen the tint. read more

The glasses fog up all the time, in my opinion cheap lenses, I was told I would be paying $ 136 by Guisella and ended up being $181, I called them they did not refund me that money, I do not recommend them. specially taking to Guisella, she even hang up the phone while I was trying to get $45.00 back, it does not seem much, but when you are low income is a lot of money, puts food on my plate. On the whole I was met with professional courtesy and had my initial visit by the receptionist and the Manager, Thomas. I had to return to be refitted for one of the glasses today and Adam and I were the only people on the floor, so there shouldn't have been such a rush. He fitted my glasses while we were still standing, didn't even bother to turn the mirror around so I could check out how they looked, but still asked if they were okay. It seemed that I could clearly see what I was reading and asked him if they (the glasses) were straight and he said yes, so I said ok and left and no I didn't look in the mirror, mea culpa. When I got home I went and put the new glasses on and looked in the mirror, shades of the Elephant Man, how in heaven's name could he have had the nerve to say that the glasses were straight!!!! This was my first time using Stanton and I am so sorry that I had to have an experience like this one today. read more
