I recently learned that the previous store manager named Owen was fired. This comes as a shock to me because not only was he exceptionally kind, but provided the greatest service I have ever received at any business. Since his absence, there has been a notable and rapid decline in the quality and care of my eyeglass service. It is more than likely I will be finding an alternative provider. read more

Excellent service at Stanton Optical. I will return soon for another pair of glasses and I am considering contact lenses too.

Today I had an eye exam and selected glasses, working with Fatima. Not only was she very professional, she answered questions and was helpful making suggestions. She took much pride in her position and it definitely showed. Thank you Fatima for helping me see better!! read more

Went to Stanton for a simple single vision pair of glasses and an exam. The exam was quick and my glasses came in early the next week. As soon as I put them on I realized they were completely wrong. I could not see out of them hardly at all. The girl started asking me questions as if I had done something to sabotage my prescription which I just kinda blew off. So I scheduled another exam. The following week I get a message and several emails saying my glasses are ready so I drive the 20 miles or so to get them and to my surprise they are not even there. I am given some story about how their system has been screwing up and that they would call me when they were ready. So 2 more weeks go by and I get several more emails saying my glasses are done but we call this time to verify and again they are not there and the system is blamed. When my glasses did finally come in again I drove the 20 miles to pick them up. I put them on and notice immediately my old glasses are way clearer then the new ones so once again they got the prescription wrong. At that point I just asked for a refund in which there was no argument (throughout this ordeal I actually witnessed 2 other people requesting refunds in the store). Unfortunately I paid in cash so I have to wait who knows how long b4 I get my money back and now I have to start all over somewhere else. I will never recommend this place nor will I ever return. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

Glasses were purchased and I I could bot see out of the lenses. They told me i probably had a cataract. I waited over the 30 days trying to decide what to do. Returned asking for my money and it was to late. Very poor customer service. they did however have my original order and returned them to me I do not understand why I couldnt see out of the new pair when I can still see out of my old pair read more

Great place to buy eye glasses..... I was shocked at the service. Service was a TEN. Answered all questions and made me feel very comfortable. read more

I made an appointment weeks ago. Took time off work to make this appointment at 4:25. Today I was notified the appointment had been "updated to 4:05. I called to let them know I was already leaving work to make the appt. They said they could rescheduled it or I had a 10 minute grace period. I could've tried to speed and make it there, but I wasn't going to . I'll just let the entire Peoria area know how this company works. I've been in the medical field for over 45 years. This is not good customer service. If this was an issue about the TIME of the appointment then why didn't someone cancel or reschedule long before 2 hours ??? As I scheduled it as a NEW patient. ( checked that box) I hope your corporate office reads these reviews. TERRIBLE SERVICE FOR A NEW PATIENT read more

I needed a pair of single vision glasses. I hated the progressives that I have, the frames are were expensive crap. I made an appt. at Stanton. I walked in for a quick eye exam. After about 1 hour 15 minutes, I had my new glasses. I am very satisfied. These are nice frames, and my vision is great. read more

Bought my glasses from here broke within 2 months and then when I went to use the warranty had to pay 20% of what the frame cost--no biggie. I then asked for my prescription and the guy bald headed gave them to me and so I took them to costco to get contacts and an extra pair of glasses and no signature. Called trying to get a script faxed and the company says it takes 48 hours to get a script faxed to Costco or I could go back to the store and get one . I told them that I was just there and he apologized. I told him it was ridiculous and I will never go back to Stanton optical. The store is dirty and they don't keep their word Very disappointed with them read more

I was in the need for new glasses, and they took me straight in,, and had my exam in less then 20 minutes I was walking out the door good jobs guys. read more

I had my first visit today and was not impressed. Their customer service is lacking, and very similar to that of the DMV. I didn't mind the virtual Dr exam, however the tech performing with the Dr barely spoke or gave any instruction, often leaving me to ask "do I need to ____?". The person fitting me after the exam was dressed very professionally, however his approach and demeanor gave the impression he had not been trained, or just did not care. I did not order frames or contacts because of my experience and I will buy them elsewhere. (Side note: The restroom was as dirty as a gas station restroom) read more

This place is horrible. I walked in for my exam and the guy who works there was rude and did not seem to want to help (I think his name was Matt, older gentleman with a suit on). The eye exam they provide is also terrible. They have a foreign doctor who looks at your eyes over the computer and most of the time I could not understand what he was saying so my eye exam was not correct. It's not worth the $45. read more

I bought the $59 special. It wasn't worth $59. When I picked it up they just handed me the glasses. No trying them on to check the fit. With in a few weeks the first pair started fall apart. Because of coronavirus I started wearing my second pair. With in a week it fell about. Now I have to wear my old pair! I've shopped at Stanton in California. I never had this problem. Worst eyeglasses ever. They responded and asked me to email them. So I did. Their "help" was for a small discount they would make me another pair of glasses. Why would I want to pay for another pair of bad glasses? I recommend that you avoid Peoria's Stanton optical, if you don't want to waste your money. I say Peoria's, because I had a good experience at the Sacramento Stanton optical. Only difference was that since I was just visiting I couldn't get the $59 deal. I had to get a deal for glasses made in the store, for quicker pick up. read more

Do NOT go to this company!!! They lie straight to you and say your glasses are covered no matter what for 2 years. Now that I need a pair replaced they say its only for 1 year and I have to pay for them. You're better off going to walmart at this point! SCAMMERS! read more

My husband went to Stanton Optical for his eye exam and glasses. After less than 4 months the anti glare coating is coming off the lenses. I feel that the product is defective and should be replaced by Stanton with no cost to us. After spending over $600 for 2 pairs of glasses, you would expect a higher quality product. Not something that is ruined in less than 4 months. Definitely poor customer service. read more

If I could give this store a negative rating I would, this place is a joke. They made my follow up appointment in a different state, because it was done online by the store. (They auto generated my appointment to be in Indiana, well I clearly live in Peoria). So of course I missed that appointment because I was not informed of it and I wasn't driving to Indiana either. They messed up 2 pairs of my glasses and took over 2 months before giving me my finished product, which was originally supposed to be less then $100.00, ended up being over $400.00. The staff including the management were so rude and unprofessional. I don't recommend this store to anyone. read more

I come here every year to get new contact lenses and always have great service. I am able to request appointments in advance and have little to no wait time once I get here. Highly recommend coming here for eye care! read more

My wife and I bought 4 pair of glasses here last week. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful A+. Selection of glasses was also very good. The problem I have is that you buy a $160 dollar pair of designer frames and after lenses walk out spending $300+ and you don't get the designer case or even a cleaning/polishing cloth? Thought that was kind of crazy. To their credit they do provide a stanton ugly orange case. But unfortuanetly it is too small to fit both pair of glasses i bought. Pretty dissapointing to end a very good overall buying/exam experience. After doing some research other eyeglass companies do give you the accessories that I would expect when buying expensive eyeware. But if you don't care about the accessories this is a very nice store and great staff. read more

Wosrt place to ever deal with. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Been waiting for weeks to get a refund check. Been in contact with the Peoria office and every customer service number I could find online. Even messaged them on Facebook. No one can give us any answers. Not even an update of where our refund is. They are no help and will not return calls. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR ANYTHING. Horrible customer service. Give you the run around every time we are in contact with them. Tell us we are unprofessional by calling to find out answers and hang up on us. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. Been wearing glasses for 50 years and these were the crappiest pair I've ever had. Service was pretty good though. Coating on lenses started flicking off after 3 months. Had to use the insurance to replace the lenses which cost $66. I won't be back. New lenses have coating flaking off as well and one of the lenses keeps falling out. The frames are cheaply made and poorly designed. read more

Do not go here. They sold me glasses and my daughter doesn't even need glasses. I had to have her eyes examined somewhere else as a recheck due to headaches Dr. Said she has 20/20 vision without glasses . Now they won't give me my $150 back. They said they would replace 5he lenses. Ummm what part of 20/20 dont you get.Shame on you stanton optical. This is one of many reviews coming Facebook and Twitter next read more

I think people should give Stanton Optical a chance. My daughter and I were I need of appointments and called there due to its location. We were given an appointment that day within an hour of our call. The receptionist was very friendly on the phone. This location does use telemedicine, which I was not aware of until we signed consent for services, but it was fine and I felt like we received the same level of care that we would have received with an in-person appointment. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The appointment took longer than I expected, but it was for two people, so that might have been why. We were told it would take two weeks to get our glasses and it did. The eyeglass pickup was fine! read more

I went to stand to get my glasses because it had two pairs for $69 I tried to call to check up on them when they see if they come when they came in they said it would take 3 weeks and they're very rude I didn't know it would take that long I called and kept calling and then April 8 I call I went to in person and found out there been there since March 28th nobody called me and told me and let me know that they were even there worst place to get glasses if you want to wait don't want customer service then go there read more

AVOID THIS JOKE OF A PLACE! You get what you pay for on their specials they run. Every person i have dealt with is an airhead. Confusion on ordering contacts and getting a phone call that they were in is one instance. After numerous phone calls for over a month, my trials had been there the entire time. Everyone has a different story everytime something goes wrong. I asked for my prescription, they said that I hadn't completed my exam yet! Whatever, this place is a joke!!! Avoid putting up with idiots, go somewhere else! read more

The worst Service I've ever had. They'll gladly take your money but won't fix an issue. The glasses don't fit, the prescription is wrong, but that will be another $50 copay to get them right read more

Stanton Optical - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Peoria, Illinois

I made an appointment online and when I arrived for my appointment, I was not told that there was no doctor on site. They never have a doctor on site. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time. My appointment was for contact lenses. The customer service portion of the visit was nice and friendly. The exam was done remotely by webcam and the lenses being changed automatically by the person on the webcam. I was not sure if that was a doctor or not. The part that I did not enjoy about the visit was that after the exam, I was never asked about which contact lenses I prefer or if I wanted to change my lenses. I had to ask for the trial lenses to ensure fit, comfort, and that the prescription was good because it did change from my last prescription. I was originally told that since I was not purchasing contacts from them that I would not receive a trial lenses. I have never been to an eye doctor and not been given a one pair trial. The customer service person said he will see what he can do and he did give me a trial pair but a different brand because they did not have my prescription in the brand I was looking for which was B and L Ultras. The prescription they gave me did not have a doctor's name on it or even their offical letterhead. It looks very unofficial. Overall, the people were nice but not a place I would go back to. read more

Please do not go there. Two months 4 pairs of glasses. They just couldn't do it. Did refund my money but what a waste of time.

Do not go to Stanton Optical they told me my daughter needed glasses so we ordered glasses for her. A few months later I had to take her to another Doctor because she was having issues. He did her eye exam w/out her glasses and told me she has 20/20 vision and does not need glasses. Now I contacted Stanton Optical and told them I wanted a refund and they denied the refund. They lied said they did what I asked them because I brought in an outside prescription which is a lie because the first exam was done by them. They are trying to put all the blame on us but instead the blame is on them. I want my $150 back as rightly it should be returned. Since they don't have a place for reviews on here I will just leave my 0 stars right here. H.J read more

Had my first visit today. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Very good selection of frames. No joke I spent like 2 hours looking for just the right pair and the staff was very helpful towards me without neglecting the other customers. Ended up getting 2 pairs buy one get one free. I went to Stanton and was hesitant due to the feedback I was hearing. I was up front with them regarding my doubts but gave them a chance. I am so happy to report that I have had a WONDERFUL experience!. The selection of glasses with the deal of buy one get one free......was excellent. Gwendolyn was the best part of the story. She took her time with me and gave me her professional opinion as needed. She answered all of my questions. If you weren't pleased with them before, I would recommend you give them another chance. Stanton has a new repeat customer in me. p.s. Ask for Gwendolyn read more

This store has screwed up 3 pairs of glasses for my husband so far. It's comical at this point. We are patient and forgiving people but we've wasted multiple trips back and forth trying to get this right. We won't be going back. Save your time, go to Walmart. Same prices roughly but they've never once messed up the Rx or given us a pair of glasses that has a loose and rattling lens in it. read more

If I could give them a zero, I would. I have been on hold for 43 minutes waiting for the manager who said he would take care of the problem 2 weeks ago. I have been waiting for a solution for 6 weeks. Don't buy any lens warranty because they are not honoring it, even though it was in the time frame. I sent in my 2 pairs of glasses so that the lenses could be replaced. They lost my frames. Manager said he would find other frames to replace them and ship them to me right away. This is what I have been waiting for. Terrible customer service. They lie about status and every time I call it's a different excuse. I needed glasses and was on a tight budget so I decided to give Stanton a try since they were having the BOGO sell. I got a pair of sunglasses and a pair of prescription glasses. The lenses in both were great but unfortunately the frames are so cheap that they only last about a month... the handle on my sunglasses came off and the frames on my other glasses were so poorly made that they didn't hold their shape. After multiple adjustments I was tired of having to continuously go to the store for readjustment ... nobody has time for that and each adjustment only made them worst to the point that the glasses were digging into the back of my ears. The sells staff seemed to have NO knowledge of how to use the computer system and took over an hr to input my information and figure things out. ... This place is an overall waste of time and money. I ended up wasting my insurance benefits here and having to come out of pocket to replace the unless frames from Stanton with quality frames and service at wal-mart. read more

My favorite glasses store! They have such good deals that I ended up getting four pairs, ask for Manny! I was able to get my prescription and order my glasses in the same day. I usually have a hard time finding glasses I like but here I couldn't pick just one. With the bogo frames deal I ended up getting 3 pairs of regular glasses and a pair of sunglasses. They were all done in two weeks with no problems, I have never had a better buying experience. read more

No customer service waited 2 hours before checking out, no one to tell us where the "special" glasses were.
