Went to Stanton for a simple single vision pair of glasses and an exam. The exam was quick and my glasses came in early the next week. As soon as I put them on I realized they were completely wrong. I could not see out of them hardly at all. The girl started asking me questions as if I had done something to sabotage my prescription which I just kinda blew off. So I scheduled another exam. The following week I get a message and several emails saying my glasses are ready so I drive the 20 miles or so to get them and to my surprise they are not even there. I am given some story about how their system has been screwing up and that they would call me when they were ready. So 2 more weeks go by and I get several more emails saying my glasses are done but we call this time to verify and again they are not there and the system is blamed. When my glasses did finally come in again I drove the 20 miles to pick them up. I put them on and notice immediately my old glasses are way clearer then the new ones so once again they got the prescription wrong. At that point I just asked for a refund in which there was no argument (throughout this ordeal I actually witnessed 2 other people requesting refunds in the store). Unfortunately I paid in cash so I have to wait who knows how long b4 I get my money back and now I have to start all over somewhere else. I will never recommend this place nor will I ever return. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

Glasses were purchased and I I could bot see out of the lenses. They told me i probably had a cataract. I waited over the 30 days trying to decide what to do. Returned asking for my money and it was to late. I needed a pair of single vision glasses. I hated the progressives that I have, the frames are were expensive crap. I made an appt. at Stanton. I walked in for a quick eye exam. I made an appointment weeks ago. Took time off work to make this appointment at 4:25. Today I was notified the appointment had been "updated to 4:05. I called to let them know I was already leaving work to make the appt. They said they could rescheduled it or I had a 10 minute grace period. I could've tried to speed and make it there, but I wasn't going to . I'll just let the entire Peoria area know how this company works. I've been in the medical field for over 45 years. This is not good customer service. If this was an issue about the TIME of the appointment then why didn't someone cancel or reschedule long before 2 hours ??? As I scheduled it as a NEW patient. I had my first visit today and was not impressed. Their customer service is lacking, and very similar to that of the DMV. I didn't mind the virtual Dr exam, however the tech performing with the Dr barely spoke or gave any instruction, often leaving me to ask "do I need to ____?". The person fitting me after the exam was dressed very professionally, however his approach and demeanor gave the impression he had not been trained, or just did not care. Bought my glasses from here broke within 2 months and then when I went to use the warranty had to pay 20% of what the frame cost--no biggie. I then asked for my prescription and the guy bald headed gave them to me and so I took them to costco to get contacts and an extra pair of glasses and no signature. Called trying to get a script faxed and the company says it takes 48 hours to get a script faxed to Costco or I could go back to the store and get one . I told them that I was just there and he apologized. I told him it was ridiculous and I will never go back to Stanton optical. This place is horrible. I walked in for my exam and the guy who works there was rude and did not seem to want to help (I think his name was Matt, older gentleman with a suit on). The eye exam they provide is also terrible. They have a foreign doctor who looks at your eyes over the computer and most of the time I could not understand what he was saying so my eye exam was not correct. It's not worth the $45. read more

I bought the $59 special. It wasn't worth $59. When I picked it up they just handed me the glasses. No trying them on to check the fit. With in a few weeks the first pair started fall apart. Because of coronavirus I started wearing my second pair. With in a week it fell about. Now I have to wear my old pair! I've shopped at Stanton in California. I never had this problem. Worst eyeglasses ever. They responded and asked me to email them. So I did. Their "help" was for a small discount they would make me another pair of glasses. Why would I want to pay for another pair of bad glasses? I recommend that you avoid Peoria's Stanton optical, if you don't want to waste your money. I say Peoria's, because I had a good experience at the Sacramento Stanton optical. Only difference was that since I was just visiting I couldn't get the $59 deal. My husband went to Stanton Optical for his eye exam and glasses. After less than 4 months the anti glare coating is coming off the lenses. I feel that the product is defective and should be replaced by Stanton with no cost to us. After spending over $600 for 2 pairs of glasses, you would expect a higher quality product. If I could give this store a negative rating I would, this place is a joke. They made my follow up appointment in a different state, because it was done online by the store. (They auto generated my appointment to be in Indiana, well I clearly live in Peoria). So of course I missed that appointment because I was not informed of it and I wasn't driving to Indiana either. They messed up 2 pairs of my glasses and took over 2 months before giving me my finished product, which was originally supposed to be less then $100.00, ended up being over $400.00. Been in contact with the Peoria office and every customer service number I could find online. Even messaged them on Facebook. No one can give us any answers. My wife and I bought 4 pair of glasses here last week. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful A+. Selection of glasses was also very good. The problem I have is that you buy a $160 dollar pair of designer frames and after lenses walk out spending $300+ and you don't get the designer case or even a cleaning/polishing cloth? Thought that was kind of crazy. To their credit they do provide a stanton ugly orange case. But unfortuanetly it is too small to fit both pair of glasses i bought. Pretty dissapointing to end a very good overall buying/exam experience. After doing some research other eyeglass companies do give you the accessories that I would expect when buying expensive eyeware. But if you don't care about the accessories this is a very nice store and great staff. read more

Been wearing glasses for 50 years and these were the crappiest pair I've ever had. Service was pretty good though. Coating on lenses started flicking off after 3 months. Had to use the insurance to replace the lenses which cost $66. I won't be back. New lenses have coating flaking off as well and one of the lenses keeps falling out. I had to have her eyes examined somewhere else as a recheck due to headaches Dr. Said she has 20/20 vision without glasses . Now they won't give me my $150 back. I think people should give Stanton Optical a chance. My daughter and I were I need of appointments and called there due to its location. We were given an appointment that day within an hour of our call. The receptionist was very friendly on the phone. This location does use telemedicine, which I was not aware of until we signed consent for services, but it was fine and I felt like we received the same level of care that we would have received with an in-person appointment. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The appointment took longer than I expected, but it was for two people, so that might have been why. We were told it would take two weeks to get our glasses and it did. The eyeglass pickup was fine! read more

I made an appointment online and when I arrived for my appointment, I was not told that there was no doctor on site. They never have a doctor on site. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time. My appointment was for contact lenses. The customer service portion of the visit was nice and friendly. The exam was done remotely by webcam and the lenses being changed automatically by the person on the webcam. I was not sure if that was a doctor or not. The part that I did not enjoy about the visit was that after the exam, I was never asked about which contact lenses I prefer or if I wanted to change my lenses. I had to ask for the trial lenses to ensure fit, comfort, and that the prescription was good because it did change from my last prescription. I was originally told that since I was not purchasing contacts from them that I would not receive a trial lenses. I have never been to an eye doctor and not been given a one pair trial. The customer service person said he will see what he can do and he did give me a trial pair but a different brand because they did not have my prescription in the brand I was looking for which was B and L Ultras. The prescription they gave me did not have a doctor's name on it or even their offical letterhead. It looks very unofficial. Do not go to Stanton Optical they told me my daughter needed glasses so we ordered glasses for her. A few months later I had to take her to another Doctor because she was having issues. He did her eye exam w/out her glasses and told me she has 20/20 vision and does not need glasses. Now I contacted Stanton Optical and told them I wanted a refund and they denied the refund. They lied said they did what I asked them because I brought in an outside prescription which is a lie because the first exam was done by them. They are trying to put all the blame on us but instead the blame is on them. I want my $150 back as rightly it should be returned. If I could give them a zero, I would. I have been on hold for 43 minutes waiting for the manager who said he would take care of the problem 2 weeks ago. I have been waiting for a solution for 6 weeks. Don't buy any lens warranty because they are not honoring it, even though it was in the time frame. I sent in my 2 pairs of glasses so that the lenses could be replaced. They lost my frames. Manager said he would find other frames to replace them and ship them to me right away. My favorite glasses store! They have such good deals that I ended up getting four pairs, ask for Manny! I was able to get my prescription and order my glasses in the same day. I usually have a hard time finding glasses I like but here I couldn't pick just one. With the bogo frames deal I ended up getting 3 pairs of regular glasses and a pair of sunglasses. They were all done in two weeks with no problems, I have never had a better buying experience. read more

I needed glasses and was on a tight budget so I decided to give Stanton a try since they were having the BOGO sell. I got a pair of sunglasses and a pair of prescription glasses. The lenses in both were great but unfortunately the frames are so cheap that they only last about a month... the handle on my sunglasses came off and the frames on my other glasses were so poorly made that they didn't hold their shape. After multiple adjustments I was tired of having to continuously go to the store for readjustment ... nobody has time for that and each adjustment only made them worst to the point that the glasses were digging into the back of my ears. The sells staff seemed to have NO knowledge of how to use the computer system and took over an hr to input my information and figure things out. ... This place is an overall waste of time and money. I ended up wasting my insurance benefits here and having to come out of pocket to replace the unless frames from Stanton with quality frames and service at wal-mart. read more

Here is my experience at Stanton Optical in Peoria. My Oxygen glasses that cost $350+ broke because it slipped off the table. I bought this type of glasses because the salesperson said it is durable and fireproof. (What an awesome feature!) On the other hand, the $100 pair of glasses that I had from Thailand lasts more than 2 years. This one, not even 3 months. The first time I went back with this issue. The girl told me they didn't have the exact frame and couldn't get the exact same one any where. I would have to pick a new frame and pay 20% of the price. I didn't have time and didn't want to deal with it. So, I went home. The second time I went back, I was told the same thing. I told them I need a new frame but would like to keep my lenses because I do not want to pay anymore money. The girl literally took the lenses off my broken frame with her dirty hands. she took some frames and tried to fit the lenses in right in front of me. And, I was standing right there... wondering if this is how they do things around here? Finally, she found one that could fit. She showed me and I said that fine. She then again standing there and tried to fit the lenses in the frame herself. She struggled. So, she told me to wait. 5 minutes later, she came back and told me to try it on. I told her I had my contact lenses in and assuming that it's the same lenses. I didn't think I need to try it on. I paid $35 and went home. I tried the glasses on at home and my vision was way off. I looked through the lenses backward and the vision is clearer. I looked through the lenses up side down and the vision is clearer. On top of that, the lenses didn't fit the frame right. It could easier pop off the frame. The third time I went back, we talked to the manager. We explained the situation. I am not going to write down everything she said except she was defensive and unwilling to help. She said the reason why the vision is off is because the lenses don't fit the frame correctly. (Me: Is that my problem? Make them fit then!) So, the focus point is off. She offered a solution that she could make new lenses for us and it would cost only $36 more. I demanded that I'm not going to spend any more money at this place. She simply said "Then, there is nothing I can do for you." I asked for my old frame back and she said she sent it back to the corporate. I asked if she can make my old lenses fit the new frame, she said no. She said "You should have taken your contact lenses off and tried the glasses on before you bought the the new frame. The old lenses were tailored made and they will never fit perfectly to the new frame which could cause blurry vision." (Me: Would have been nice to know that before!) OK. I was not informed and was not aware that this could mess up my vision. Why didn't your employee educate me about this? They were just happy to take my money, got ride of me in 15 minutes and not caring about my blurry vision? The manager kept saying that I needed new lenses and There is nothing she can do about it. I asked if I can at least return the new frame and get my money back. Because, clearly I cannot wear them. She then again said no. I took my glasses back and told her, we and everyone we know will never come back here again. She said, OK. Suggestion to this store. Educate your staff, please! And maybe look for another manager with customer focus and who is aware that we live in the world of internet now and customer can write review. It is not just 1 or 2 sales that you lost here. If I had been kindly communicated to, paying extra $60 is not an issue. But the experience has been horrible and the fact that I have to waste my time so many times going to that store is frustrating. I just cannot understand why can't they find me the exact frame that I had before and How could the staff let me walk out the store knowing that there could be an issue with the new frame and my old lenses? read more
