I've had classic aviators for many years. The fit is great, and nothing beats the brown lenses for UV protection, clarity, and sheer eye relief. The first time I broke an armpiece (yes, do store them in their case!), I decided to drive a hundred miles to Peoria for the repair rather than rely on mail service, and I was so wowed by the staff and surroundings that I bought a smaller, "backup" pair. Most excellent customer service! Maui Jim sets the bar about as high as it gets. I somewhat reluctantly shipped my beloved polarized glasses back for repair after one of the lens was shattered, an unfortunate causality of an overly enthusiastic hug with a dear friend at a music festival. I received a confirmation within just a few days that my glasses had been received and that they'd be repaired and returned to me as quickly as possible. Unbelievably later that same day, another message came through saying they were done and on their way back home to me. Sweet! I received the package yesterday, so thrilled to get my glasses back in just about a week. Sent in my beloved 5+ years old Pohaku sunglasses which I busted the lens in January of this year skiing and now I broke the temple biking this December. Not even sure if they had the temple because of the age. And I thought it would take a few weeks because of the holidays but once received by MJ they turned it around in a couple of days. Sent 12/11 via USPS (5 days) and had my glasses back 12/21 via Fedex. They even returned the unbroken temple, a new triangular folding case and with a piece of candy for the holidays! Customer Service at Maui Jim is exceptional! I sat on another pair of Maui Jim and broke the Temple. I called to send glasses in for repair with $10 check. Wa la, about a week later I got back my rebuilt sunglasses just like new. Looks like my original lenses but everything else was new. To boot, I received a new low profile case, new colorful glass pouch which doubles as cleaning cloth. I have repaired Ray Ban, Persol and Oakleys. Maui Jim still has the best customer service. Love my Maui Jim sunglasses, warranty service is a disaster. After 7 months, the finish on my MJ's began to delaminate. My retailer said that Maui Jim (MJ) would replace them, but that the retailer would need to send them in to be checked for warranty, replaced and returned. This would take 7-10 business days, plus shipping time. This is the only pair of prescription sunglasses I have, so I asked if they could get the replacement frames, swap out the lenses, and return the defective frames after to minimize my down-time..., "No, that's not how we do it". I said I'd give a deposit that could be returned if covered by the warranty (it was obvious the finish was failing)? "No, that's now how we do it". I wrote to customer service, "No, that's not how we do it, Mahalo!" Great glasses + lousy warranty policy = average product. Done with Maui Jim, A hui hou (Bye Bye)!!! read more

Wow just Wow! The customer service at Maui Jim is so simple and straight forward it makes the Sun Glasses worth every Penny you pay! I lost one of my Nose Pads, after stopping at the dealer and searching all over Amazon, I finally went to Maui Jim's website, since we were already in their systems for a previous repair, they sent me a new set of nose pads for free, no charge! I have owned several pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses; they are the only brand I wear. My favorite pair are around 13 -15 years old...yes they truly are that old and the style is timeless; this is one of several reasons I love their products, timeless, classic, and excellent quality and workmanship. I recently dropped these sunglasses and cracked the left lens. I sent them in to Maui Jimto be repaired, from the day I shipped them to the day they arrived at my door was less than a week!! They replaced both lenses, replaced the nose pads, tightened them up and did an overall cleaning. I thoroughly clean my glasses from time to time, but they did an amazing job cleaning them too, they look brand new!!! They also sent me a new case for free that collapses flat when your not using it. Love this new case, it will take up less room in my purse. I highly recommend Maui Jim products and would tell anyone needing to repair their glasses to not hesitate to send your repairs directly to them, you will not be disappointed!! read more

Could not be nicer or more genuine people! I have been a lifelong Maui Jim customer and probably need to be on a 12 Step Program for the amount of MJ glasses I own. That being said, I had no idea they had a campus in Peoria, IL! It is not only a gorgeous place, the people are so kind as well. I had walked into Maui Jim Heaven! The owner's dogs know they own the place and are chilling waiting for you...and for you to rub their bellies. They really have taken on the laid-back mentality of Hawaii, and I love everything about it! I needed some assistance with 2 pairs of my sunglasses. They 100% took care of me on the spot. I am fairly OCD about my glasses, and they were able to clean the one better than I have ever in the history of owning of glasses! The other pair they exchanged for me. These guys are tops in my book. I have enjoyed my pair of Maui Jim sunglasses for many years (as in 7 or 8). They're well made, durable and look great whether for sports, casual, or formal situations. But over time, the bronz coating on the metallic frame had worn off in a few places and I wanted a new frame. This is possible through their website, which promises to replace the frame for $40-$80 depending on the frame, plus $10 for handling (includes return postage). I mailed the sunglasses to the repair center in Peoria, IL and even though they don't make this model anymore they dug a new one out and replaced the frame for about $85 including tax and handling, a lot cheaper than buying new ones retail. It only took about a week for them to send the new frame back and they even included a new hard case. Be aware that if you replaced the lenses with non-Maui Jim prescription lenses, that will void the warranty and they will not sell you new frames. I had occasion to call their repair center and their reps were courteous and knowledgeable and jumped through some significant hoops to make sure I got my replacement. This whole experience makes me a lifelong Maui Jim customer. Their sunglasses aren't cheap but they're worth it, especially if you have to deal with a repair. Too bad for the company that their products are so good I don't have to buy them too often! read more

Recently had repairs done with my lens that I had to buy for $75. To be honest, these glasses are the best Ive ever had. Very relaxing to my eyes and fit great. These glasses were knocked off a 2 ft table on to tile and shattered. I thought Maui Jim would take care of this under warranty. I bought them late Oct. 2017. Have proof of purchase also. I was wrong, no warranty. Fine I get it, drop them from 2 ft. My bad. Repaired glasses and arrived at a decent time. Good job! Only problem I have now is the brand new replacement lens are DIRTY! Fingerprints and some other smegma on them. If your gonna deny the warranty and I have to pay for new lens, CLEAN THEM!!! Can't even read the tech name and number on repair card. First and Last pair i'll buy. Too bad, they are nice. :( read more

I have purchased only Maui Jim sunglasses for the last 10+ years for a few reasons but one of the primary is there service policy and customer service. I recently put a pair of sports in my pocket instead of pushing back on my balding dome and snapped one of the ear piece stems off. In addition the lenses were cracked near the nose piece. I also had and older pair where the nose guards came off. I went online, filled out my work order and mailed them in. I get a friendly call back to let me know that they are going to repair the 1 year old pair for FREE and just charge me for the new lenses on the older pair. So basically, for all intent and purposes, I got two new pair of glasses for $60 plus $10 service free. They both came in their own case with polish rag. I had them back within the week. With many of the optical companies, (Ray Ban, Sunglass Hut and Oakley) being purchased by Italian conglomerate Luxottica, its nice to know you can still get first class customer service in America. read more

My wife has a nice pair of Maui Jim sunglasses, and they're expensive. One of the arms broke so she took it to a local Sunglasses Hut and asked about repairs. They referred us to Maui Jim's location in Peoria. We sent it One Aloha Lane, Peoria 61615, 888-628-4546. I assume this must be the same location - they couldn't have two repair places in the same town. Per the web instructions, we mailed the sunglasses with a $10 fee, and expected to be contacted for an estimate of the total cost. Instead, about 5 days later, the sunglasses showed up in the mail, fixed and like new, in a new case to boot. Our technician Nicole did a great job (she included her card). I have rarely experienced such incredibly great customer service as I did after breaking a pair of my prescription Maui Jims. I stupidly sat against them and broke the lens and was heartbroken. I knew Maui Jim has a wonderful guarantee but it clearly spells out that they'll replace/repair in cases of manufacturing defect, and I clearly broke these because of inattention, this was my fault entirely. The sunglasses in prescription form cost about $450 so I expected to pay at least $200 to replace the one lens, and I knew the wait would be tortuous...after all, I did this in the summertime! Well, I got them back much earlier than expected and the charged me $5.45...the shipping and handling, ONLY! I was blown away! When you're considering what sunglasses to buy, not only is the optical quality of these glasses superior to anyone else's (in my opinion!) but they are worth every penny. It's so nice to not have to worry or deal with any hassle or pressure to upgrade, etc. Simple process - lenses cracked. I went on line, printed the form, filled it out, shipped them off to Maui Jim with required fees for replacement and bam! Received a nice new pair in a spiffy SMALLER case, which I love, and didn't get the run around or a reply with an excuse as to why they couldn't replace my glasses. This process would have been even simpler if I had remembered to bring my broken glasses with me when I went to Maui recently. I've had a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses for six or seven years. Finally one of the arms broke at the hinge. I googled Maui Jim repair, found some good reviews and filled out the online repair form. I sent the glasses in giving permission for expenses to repair the arm and change out the other arm so they would look the same. I received the glasses back within two weeks with both arms replaced, lenses and frame cleaned, all for the $10.00 shipping fee. How could you ask for anything else. So impressed. Maui Jim is the best. I've had my sunglasses (my babies) for over 8 years and they're fantastic, I love them. I lost a screw out of one of the temples and I wasn't able to find a matching screw to get it back together. Sent the glasses to the Peoria, IL repair place ($13 handling fee plus shipping) and thought they'd just put a screw in and send them back. Which would have been fine. I love this company! Warranty second to none. I dropped my glasses after 2 years of owning them. One of the lenses cracked. After contacting the company, I sent them away with 10.00 processing fee. They promptly called and asked for 75.00 to repair what I assumed would be just one lense. When I received my precious cargo 10 days later, imagine my surprise when I opened a brand new pair of glasses along with a new case and adorable tropical bag/cloth. I bought my Maui Jim sunglasses in 2002. The nose pads had fallen off and I sent them in to have new ones put on. I received the glasses back today and they provided completely new frames and re-glossed the lenses. This was the 2nd time in 16 years that I had sent them in for nose pads and the 2nd time they were returned as brand new sunglasses. I LOVE Maui Jim sunglasses. Everyone who 'borrows' mine or tries them always falls in love with the clarity they provide, even in bright sun. I have been offered money for mine many times. I recommend them whenever given the chance. I like them so much I have them repaired (I think five or six times on the five different pair I own). I still wear Maui Jim sunglasses for the optics, but they are not a durable brand. If you treat them gingerly and don't do anything too active they will serve you well. Very lightweight and comfortable, I never get a headache from wearing these glasses. The repair process is relatively painless and customer service works with the customer pretty well when they do break. Most people I know that have owned them will tell you that they do eventually break and have to be fixed. I think over all they're worth the price especially if you can find them on sale. For optics and durability I would still recommend Smith over Maui Jim. read more
