Horrible service. 10 am appointment now 11 am just getting in. Their 15 minute thing is a crock. If you get the 2 for 69 it takes 2 weeks for them to come back not 15 minutes. The doctor that seen me did not speak two words to me. I paid extra to get them in 15 minutes after I pay I get one of our edgers are down it will take up to a week I'll call you. I have broken glasses which is why I chose them. I have been wearing glasses for over 30 years and this by far is the absolute worst experience I have ever had. Will never use them again. Wow! What a s***Show this place is! I've been wearing glasses for almost my entire life and have NEVER experienced anything like this. Vacationing with the family in Port Aransas this weekend and out in the gulf on a tube, a big wave flipped me over and my glasses disappeared. It's late Sunday afternoon and I have a minor emergency. Started searching for a one hour optometrist/glasses store to replace my one and only pair. Called Stanton first thing Monday morning and made an appointment for 11 am, because the place was the closest i could find to where we were staying and as stated, could possibly get me glasses in an hour. That didn't happen..... Showed up a few minutes early for the exam by "Dr. Okundaye". Got in for the Pre-exam, no problems. Was directed to go next door and pick out frames and wait to get called back for the exam. A little after noon I got called back. The "Dr" was kinda strange, looked angry and was not very talkative. He asked me a few questions, including how old I was. When I said I was 47, he immediately told me i would need bifocals, and this was BEFORE he even examined my eyes. That should've been a giant red flag but I was in desperate need of glasses. After the "exam" was complete I was sent back next door to have the glasses prepared. I mentioned to the sales girl how the "Dr" insisted i have bifocals and she said, no, you don't have to get bifocals. Weird. So I opted for the single vision that I usually get and was made to pay up front ($423 after "Discount" which was removing the cost of the "Free Eye Exam" that actually costs $45) before the glasses even went back to the lab. Whatever. The sales girl told me it would take about 15 minutes for the regular glasses to be ready. I chose to have a second pair made into polarized sunglasses, which would not be ready until noon the next day. Fine, at least I will be able to see and get back to the beach for the last day of our little vacation. Being after 12:30 at this point, my wife and i decided to get lunch. Not familiar with Corpus, we drove around for about 15 minutes looking for lunch but decided just to go get the glasses and leave. We got back after the alotted 15 minutes to find the glasses werent ready, so we waited another 30 minutes til they were done. Thats when I made the mistake of reading the Yelp reviews, and immediately regretting not having done so before we came in. When I tried them on I nearly fell over because one lens was so out of whack I couldn't even see. Rose Mary, who is the person who deals with the lab looks at the prescription and discovers the "Dr" made a "typo" and screwed the prescription up. I was told to hurry back next door for another exam, because they were about to leave for lunch. The "Dr" was even less pleasant the second go round and again insisted I get bifocals. Whatever, just give me the prescription so I can get out of there. Again, sales girl said bifocals were NOT necessary. After another hour and a half we finally get to leave with one pair of glasses that were okay. The sales person said the sunglasses would be ready around noon the next day. We got to the store at 1:20 and were told they were not ready, but would be ready in 30 minutes, so again, we venture out to find lunch. (found an awesome gyro place a couple miles away) and got back to Stanton around 2:20. Guess What? THE GLASSES STILL WERE NOT READY! At this point, I'm getting pretty heated. They brought them out around 2:40 and surprise surprise, when I put them on, they were wrong. Rosemary checked them and discovered that there was "prism" which means there was an issue with the field of vision for both lenses not being aligned properly. Mind you, we have to drive 4 hours to get back home and here we are waiting for the correction to be corrected. Finally, they brought out the glasses and had to take them back to the lab because the technician hadn't secured the lens to the frame. Once that was done, we were able to go (although the paint on the frames has already started chipping off, but I didn't have the patience to even address this issue). So they can turn 15 minutes into a 7 hour ordeal spread out over two days. And we were definitely not the only ones with problems. Several people came in complaining that their glasses were wrong, had broken or were wondering how much longer it would take for their orders to arrive (one guy had been waiting a month!) and several others who had screwed up prescriptions. One guy put his new glasses on that immediately took them off because he said he could see better without them. This is absolutely the most piss poor excuse for an eye care place and I will caution everyone to avoid doing business with this place. Not to mention there's not a location in Austin. This was my first visit to Stanton optical. I had such an excellent experience that I felt I should post a review today to thank them for helping me with my selection. When I showed up for my eye exam appointment they got me in quickly and the doctor was very thorough with my examination. After my examination I was assisted by one fo Stanton Optical sales associate - she was very helpful and patient with me. We looked a several options with her helping me find the right set of glasses. I explained to them what my financial budget was and that I wanted to stay within my budget. They worked very hard to find the glasses I needed that were within my budget. Once the selection was made and we agreed on the right price to fit my budget I made my purchase and later that afternoon my glasses were ready and I picked them up from the store. The Stanton Optical sales associate and her Management team made the entire selection process and purchase easy. I found them to be very professional and friendly -- overall it was an excellent experience. I am very happy with my choice to go to Stanton optical - I will be a repeat customer and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for glasses. read more

Things were kind of so-so for me at Stanton. Dr. Matthews was great when he did my eye exam, and Nate was really nice when it came to picking out glasses and all that stuff. I was a little disappointed about a couple of things though. #1 When I called to see if my glasses were ready, the girl who answered the phone said she would call me back to let me know and she never did. #2 I just picked up my second pair of glasses today and the screw to the earpiece is loose. Seriously?!? I'm paying enough money to not have to deal with a loose earpiece on the same day that I pick my glasses up. A little more attention to detail would be appropriate!!! read more

I moved here about a year ago and when and got my eye exam I got their "membership plan" which is suppose to give discounts and what not well my first two times ordering contacts they did and now they are nothing but rude and are over charging... the price they are trying to sell me my contacts are almost 50 dollars more expensive than if I order with any other company. I will never go back to Stanton optical. The first pair of glasses was not even made correctly and the sunglasses were even worse. I don't know how these people are in business. I ended up paying almost $150 after using my insurance for one pair of glasses and I'm not even going to use them now because they are horrible!! They will not make it good for you or refund your money, you have to get a pair of glasses and walk out of there unsatisfied.The people working there or not so nice and not all that helpful. I picked up my glasses on Oct 17 and they said to give them 2 weeks for my eyes to adjust. After 1 week I had more headaches and vision issues. I went back and they said they wanted me to have my eyes re examined. i set up the time and returned to have it done and an employee adjusted the glasses and wanted me to try it but wouldn't let me go back to recheck my eyes. Most of the staff there is awesome except the one guy who seemed to be a manager and a girl who kept hassling me and kept saying I didn't even need glasses (this is after I got into a car wreck from not being able to see correctly). I went in and bought two pairs of glasses. I received a call saying that one pair was ready and upon arrival they had misplaced them and I had to wait over half an hour to receive new ones. They also didn't have the original frames so I had to choose another pair even though my prescription was "ready". Then I waited about 3 weeks to get my other pair. I couldn't get anyone on the phone to ask about the second pair of glasses so when I showed up one morning I once again had to wait about half an hour to receive my second pair when no one else was even in the building. They told me they didn't even have my second pair on file and that apparently I had already received them. I received my glasses and then left because I was in a rush for work. When I went to put my glasses on the prescription was totally wrong. At this point I didn't even want to see anyone there again considering everything I had to deal with. A total waste of time and money. I would NEVER go back there. read more

One and done! Never again. I waited over an 1 1/2 hours for my exam. When I inquired regarding the wait I was told "there's always a wait at this time, the Dr's take lunch" I replied, "why then do you schedule appts at lunch time?" The very curt response was that the online appt schedule was completely out of their control. I informed the gal that I had made the appt in person the previous day at their store. "Well there's nothing we can do about it". I was told several times "why don't you go out and look at frames". When I did select glasses, I just wanted the basic no frills lenses because I wear contacts. When we finished with the order, she took my card and came back with the receipt. I told her she had overcharged me, she acted confused and looked at the order. After checking, she replied that she had "mistakenly" added the upgraded lens and gave me a new price. Still incorrect, I told her what it should be, she checked again, this time she said she "mistakenly" charged me for something else. We had discussed all of these options and I had declined them. I wonder how many people don't notice these "mistakes" until too late? It took them two tries and nearly three weeks to get the right contact lenses ordered. After I picked them up, I continued to get robot calls to pick them up evenings, and even weekends. The bow fell off my glasses, I brought them in and it took them 15 minutes to put a screw in and they said they were having problems. For some reason , same bow broke completely off at the hinge withIn a couple of weeks (?) I returned to the store to purchase just the frame, it was a designer frame and priced at $199. I explained the situation and as I hadn't even had them for a year, I asked if they could give me a better price. The response from the manager per the salesclerk "unfortunately, that's the price:" my response was, "unfortunately, I will spend my money elsewhere, even if I have to purchase a new pair." The store is completely driven by profit, customer service is secondary. The store is in serious need of some fresh paint, and new carpet as well. read more

Not impressed at all. I called before I went over there, because I was going to be using a Groupon. i was ignored for a good 10 minutes before someone helped me. I chose some frames and then was told that even with the Groupon my total would be over $200 out of pocket. Absolutely ridiculous. The girl couldn't even figure out how to put my prescription in the computer because I have to have prism in my glasses. I decided not to get them, but did have a contact script that I needed to get filled. When I had called, the gentleman assured me that the store carries contacts in store....LIE!!!! In store I was told it would be 7-10 days before I would get them. Totally unacceptable. It's already been 9 days and I still don't have my contacts. I wish I would have read the reviews before I ever went there. Thankfully Groupon was nice enough to refund me the money I paid for the Groupon. I am appalled at the level of customer service this store has. I wouldn't go back here even if I was paid to. Went in 3-30-19 to purchase lens for my 3 frames. I was happy with the price and they said it would be one week for two pairs to be completed. I live outside of Corpus Christi and it is an 80 mile round trip to pick-up my glasses. I showed up at their appointed time and only one pair was ready and the other would take a couple of more days. I asked who was going to reimburse me for my time and mileage since it is such a long drive. If they only would have let me know it would have taken more time that would have been fine and I would have waited to pick both of them up at the same time. The manager said we will mail them to you when they come in and you should have them by the end of the week. That was almost 3 weeks ago and still no glasses. I called the number listed and they gave me the local number and called to see if my glasses were in and if they had indeed mailed them as they said they would. It took 30 minutes and 3 phone calls just to let me know they were in the store. They could not find me in the system. I know I am because they definitely took my money so I know I am in there. Another 15 minutes later they finally found my name and said we can mail them tomorrow. I asked why were they giving me a hard time and then delay the mailing and I was told the manager would be in tomorrow. Save yourself the time and headache and do business elsewhere, I know this is the only time I am using Stanton Optical. Poor Service. read more

If yelp allowed a negative star rating for how bad a business is, Stanton Optical would receive a -5 from me. I had previously set up an appointment for an exam on (2/18/2016) at noon. I arrived just before 11:40 am, and waited patiently up front for over 5 minutes before receiving a greeting of any kind. As a matter of fact, the first greeting I received was an overwhelming smell of a dirty litter box that I had to wallow in while waiting to acknowledged. Stanton Optical was the only place I found that accepted my insurance so I tried to remain calm and be patient. When I was finally noticed, a man around the corner at a kiosk shouted and asked if I was there for an appointment and didn't make any attempt whatsoever to try and help. He just rudely motioned and notified me that I needed to go around the corner. At this point I was ready to leave and say forget it, but being the person I am I tried to remain positive. Nearly an hour after my initial arrival, I finally get called just to be told that I was scheduled for the day before, when I was clearly told on the phone during the initial appointment scheduling that the date was confirmed for (2/18/2016.) Confused, I calmly reassured the staff of young ladies that my appointment was confirmed for this date and time per Stanton Optical. Explaining to them that I needed to be seen today, they stepped around the corner for a moment and upon returning told me that I could be seen as a "walk-in", but the wait would be 45 minutes to an hour. Frustrated and nearly having a migraine from the piercing and horrific smell, I asked for my paperwork so I could throw it away, just as Stanton Optical did with my aspirations of this being a reputable business. I'm not one to complain or even become frustrated but Stanton Optical truly pushed me to my limits. This is my first review and I didn't even want to write this, but I felt as if it was necessary, especially after seeing all the other terrible reviews. The exam itself is a joke, despite having to make an appointment you will be waiting a few hours to be called and if you're a walk-in even longer. The only positive was a manager on the glasses side named PRISCILLA she was excellent!! Not pushy at all and completely understood and was willing to help with my budget. This place is a scam. The eye exam is not free and the doctor just refers you to another doctor anyways. Shame on me for not looking up this place before I gave them my business. I thought I would take advantage of the buy one get one frame sale but it really took advantage of me. Bring it my first time wearing glasses I decided to go with sunglasses for the "free" second pair. I SPECIFICALLY asked (because they were pretty pricy "free" glasses), "What if I change my mind?" To which the sales person said, "You have 30 days to decide." Fine. I went ahead and got them. When I decided they weren't for me and not what I was expecting when I paid A LOT extra for "polarized lenses" went to return them. I got "Nope" we don't do returns here. When I asked to talk to someone else to resolve this problem Nate the manager said he was the guy to talk to and he wouldn't do it. He then handed me his card with customer service phone number on it. Ok. I called and they said "sorry our policy is online" to which I replied "I did not buy these online!! I went to the store where the associate told me I have 30 days." So here's the kicker... I got put on hold by customer service so they could call Nate, the store manager. When he got back on the line with me he said, "Nate said he already told you no!" After going round and round with the guy on the phone he hung up on me. I can't understand why this place got such bad reviews. This was the best experience I've EVER had buying glasses. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and patient. I looked at stores all over town and the selections at other places were limited and overpriced. This store truly has a buy one get one free (no small print). ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!! I have scheduled appointments with them 4 separate times and even call ahead of time to make sure I still have my appointment only to show up and find out they are 2+ hours behind! I got the same excuse every time saying that the online schedule double booked however I called THIS Exact office and talked to THEM and was told I would be seen at the scheduled time. Today I walk in 10 mins before my appointment and the waiting room is full because they had 7 people that had yet to be seen! I had the worst experience with this place, I have never done a review for anything but i also have not had to go through something like this before. The first day I went in they broke the first set of glasses and could not call me to inform me. They waited for me to come back and pick them up to let me know. Had to choose a new set of glasses because those were discontinued, the 2nd set of glasses I chose were broken when I picked them up so I called to inform them that I would be back to the store to get them fixed. The manager himself said he would order the glasses so they would be in and ready for me to pick up. When I went back the same manager told me they had not received them yet, so I called a few days later and that same manager once again told me there was no order ever placed for the glasses. I went in to get a refund and they refused. I called corporate and they told me my 30 days had been up which was a lie so he than tried to say they do not do refunds but the brochure they staple to the receipt says they will give u a refund if they do not meet ur satisfaction which they did not after 3 times. November 2015, I went to the Stanton Optical a lens prescription from my eye doctor. I've worn glasses and contacts for more than 30 years and have recently started to need readers and thought I'd try using bifocals. I had my own pair of Ralph Lauren lenses that I love for them to use, which the clerk stated was okay, as long as I understood: there would be no warranty for the frames. The clerk that helped me was courteous, but not what I would call extremely professional in his skills. He measured for placement of the lenses while I was standing up in the middle of the store... He then actually used a black sharpie marker to measure where the bifocal lenses would be placed (approximately 13mm-14mm in size). When I went to pick up my glasses, the bifocal was ridiculously tiny at 10mm in size. The only way I could see through that part of the lenses was if I lifted them up and held them there. The clerk agreed that they were not done correctly. I asked if he could adjust the glasses, so that they didn't sit so low on my face and he bent the earpieces at almost a ninety degree angle, which had them literally plastered to my face with my eyelashes rubbing on the lenses. He then said to take the glasses to use while they reordered new lenses with the correct bifocal size. After I bent the earpieces back a little, wore them some, and determined that the left lens did not seem "right", with distorted vision in that eye. I took the glasses to my eye doctor's office to see if the prescription was incorrect and the assistant said that while the prescription was correct, I should still come back and see the doctor to make sure there weren't any changes in my prescription. I had to wait to schedule another appointment due to having multiple wisdom teeth removed. I did not ever receive a call from Stanton to tell me the new lenses had arrived. I finally get in to see my eye doctor in January and my left eye prescription changed some in my left eye. I took the glasses back to the same man I had been dealing with at Stanton. I took a second set of my own frames and asked if he could just make one pair of single vision lenses without the bifocal and make me a set of readers with the second frame. He said that was no problem, took both sets of lenses, charged me the additional cost for the reader lenses and a percentage cost of the lenses that they had already done. There was never an 'eye' measurements taken at this visit (with or without a sharpie, haha). When I went to pick up my glasses today, looking through the lenses of my distance glasses was almost nauseating because they distorted my vision so badly. If I held the glasses up off my nose a bit, the distortion went away. Anyone who has worn glasses long enough knows that this is due to the measurement for the position of the eyes is "off". The woman that I picked up the glasses from stated (after I told her something was wrong with the lenses) that the previous clerk should have remeasured my eye placement and did not. She did not offer any options to correct the problem. In fact, when I asked if she could adjust the frames to help raise the glasses, she stated that she couldn't do anything because the frames didn't have nose pads to adjust. I ended up leaving with a pair of glasses that are useless. I called this afternoon, told the assistant manager my lengthy story and asked that she simply refund only for my distance lenses, because my eyes were not measured for proper lens placement. I just wanted to get my money back so that I could go somewhere else to get my distance lenses done by an optical that used better equipment to measure my eyes properly. She refused to give me a partial reimbursement because "they were not off by their delivery promise or price", although she agreed that the clerk should have measured for proper placement. She stated that if I came back in, they would properly measure my eyes. I told her I didn't want to do that; I'd rather go to an optical that would measure correctly in the first place. No refund! DO NOT GO HERE!! UPDATE TO REVIEW: Less than one day after posting this review, the Stanton Opitical Customer Service Supervisor, Lisa contacted me and issued a full credit. I am extremely pleased! Lisa assured me that changes are happening to improve training at Stanton Optical locations related to the growth of the company. She efficiently and happily resolved the issue. If you have problems with customer service at our local location, please don't give up. Call the Customer Service Center listed on their website. read more

Nice building and landscaping. Plenty of parking. The personnel at this location definitely need more training. They also need to be informed about possible eta's for orders. When I ordered my glasses on December 26, 2015. I was informed by the sales person that my glasses would be ready on January 2nd or 3rd of 2016. I never received a call that they were ready, so on January 9, 2016 I called to see if they were ready. They informed me that their cutting machine was down. But, said that they sent my order to be done in Florida, and should be ready in a few days. On January 24, 2016 I decided to see if they were ready, or get my money back. According to the first person I spoke to 1 pair of glasses was ready, they just got them in that day! But then, another (veteran sales associate) informed me that a second of three was ready. The first sales lady (must have been in training) told me that the third pair would be ready in 2 weeks. 2 hours later I receive a call that the lenses are ready. When I call them to make sure the message was correct, they inform me the machine that cuts the lenses is broken. So, I went back to the store with my frames, early Sunday, January 31, 2016. Three sales people standing around and only one customer in the store. I ask if the machine that cuts the lenses is working. They said, an unbelievable YES. so I ask if they could please get my glasses ready for me. I figured that over a month wait for the glasses would have prompted a yes response. The answer was NO!!! They said I would have to come back. I questioned their response, "Why? There is only one customer in the store, and I have been waiting since December 26th 2015 for these glasses to be ready" But, still the answer was, "You can pick them up Monday" When I used to purchase my glasses at another eyeglass place in town, on McArdle St., across from the mall. I always got same day service. I would never recommend this place to anyone! I will never do business with these people ever again! If I could have given them zero stars, I would have! read more

Terrible service and VERY DIRTY! I had been going to Stanton for the past 7 years but after today I am taking my business elsewhere. I had a 12:30 appt., wasn't even called for pre-exam until after 1:30. I was taken to the room where the initial part of the exam begins and was left there for 10 minutes. That was when I decided that I had wasted enough of my time and with the dirty, stained carpet throughout and thick layers of dust on everything, including exam equipment, and carpet that looked like it had not been vacuumed in a month I decided to leave before I got some kind of eye infection. All the employees are so rude and unprofessional especially 2 girls up at the front. The actual Dr. MAthews very unfriendly like themmm. My daughter was in to get contacts he said she can no longer wear contacts becuase she had a infection to her eyes even thow nothing seemed to be wrong he gave  my daughter a rx for eye drops and glasses she lost them at work 2days later so I ask for a other rx for 5 days everyday they told me I will call it in. THE FIRST TIME THEY CALLED TO TELL ME THEY WILL CALL IT IN, BUT NOTHING. I even had the pharmacy fax a request 2 times each time they said they never got it. I finally went up there just very fusterated  to pick up the rx  WHEN I GOT THERE they said he wanted to talk to me I was like ok why so I waited and,  Dr. MATTHEWS came out with headphones around his head and sneakers he was angry that I had been calling for the rx it was like he wanted to burst in angery words this is the Dr he was like who wants to talk to me who are you. I didn't want to talk to him I was just there for a copy of rx he went off about me being upset about not getting a copy of the rx and telling them they where unprofessional, and making excuses for the rx never beening called it was like I can't believe your the Dr. Acting like that, he's  like "That's Right I'm The Dr" raising his hands to my face and , I said if you feel some type of way I can and he interrupted me and said if you dont like it get it from your family Dr becuase I m not giving you another, I was going to say that and he was like BYE seeee yahh. Good luck Stanton WE PAID TO BE SEEN MIND BLOWING HIS TEMPER THE SEEN HE MADE IN PUBLIC TO HIS PATIENTS AND CUSTOMERS I had conversations with the office all week he could of just told me this over the phone, but no he waited till I went in so he could confront me in my face waist of time. I  guess he is allowed to represent Stanton in that way must be okay with them if they let it happen I knowww that's not the first time he acted like that you can tell he was comfortable acting like that SMH. Went for an eye exam the first of week of July and had an 11:00 appt. Got there early and saw a waiting room full of people. There was a note on the desk saying only one doctor was in today. I opted to wait thinking it couldn't be too bad. Finally got into to see Dr. Okundaye around 12:30 and was so not impressed. He could barely speak English. I've had an issue with my left eye since I was in high school and I'm 50 now. He starts explaining to me what's wrong with my eye. DUH! I know what's wrong I've lived with it my whole life. He's more concerned with that and that I'm pre-diabetic. He starts talking about how I need to have $450.00 worth of eye tests done at his office and proceeds to give me a card with an appt on it. I point blank told him I don't have the money I cant come. He said, well get the money together or you can cancel the appointment. He finally does my exam which was about 10 minutes, makes some notes on legal pad and tells the assistant how to look up and spell a few words for my chart. I had to ask them point blank are you giving my a trail pair of contacts or not? They finally did. I was then sent out to the main area to order my contacts and get the usual up sell. This was around 1:00pm. No one is in sight to help me. I had to chase people down to ask for help and then was told I'll get someone.My husband called me during this time to find out where the hell I was and I loudly explained my ordeal hoping someone would hear me and take pity on me. It was close to 1:30 and I had been there since 11:00! I was cranky and hungry to be honest. Finally got someone to help me. She was nice and actually saved me some money ordering my contacts and then told me it would be 4-6 weeks for them come in and that I would be called. So fast forward to August 14- still no call it's been 6 weeks. I call them and they say the contacts are in. So I go in and being a smart ass- I asked I'm off today just checking if my contacts have arrived- she very rudely checks if they are there and she finally finds them. I asked do yall not call people when they are in, how long have they been here? She rudely replies- everything is automated I have no idea. Needless to say I probably won't be back this is the most unprofessional, horrible customer service place in town. read more

Terrible experience. The frames for the "two for $69" promotion are cheap, flimsy junk, you would not want them, so you choosed from a large selection of pricey frames. The exam seemed professionally done but was a joke. The prescription for me was completely wrong. I told the examiner that I got along fine with 1.25 diopter off the shelf reading glasses but wanted a prescription for slight astigmatism in one eye, for clearer vision and night driving. The glasses I got were bifocals with a 2.0 correction for both eyes, far too strong, and 2.5 diopter reading lenses, far too strong. My price for two pair of bifocals came to over $500. The reading lenses were like a magnifying glass, an object was readable only when about 12 inches away, and everything was a total blur if closer or further away. I complained and was told I could get another exam free. As wrong as they were the first time, demonstrating neglect and/or incompetence, I declined and demanded a refund. After too much argument with the manager, the refund was granted, but he refused to refund the $45 exam fee. After too much more argument, he finally gave me the refund, saying it was coming from hos own pocket. If so, I'm sure he reimbursed himself. Another customer was waiting to make his own similar complaints. My impression is that Stanton is a scam, with a phony come on promotion for "two for $69 with free exam", and then overcharging for decent frames and lenses made wrong, through indifference, incompetence and fraud. I should have researched Stanton before going to them. I hope this helps others avoid my mistake. read more

I bought a Groupon for Stanton Optical. I thought I would give them a try. The doctor that did my exam appeared to be very eccentric. He talked to himself (even argued with himself) during the entire exam. He seemed to be arguing with himself as to what my prescription needed to be. I took the prescription that he gave me to the eye glass portion of the store. It took 2 weeks but I got the sunglasses I had ordered. They are not even close to the prescription I need. I was told the reading portion of the lens is half what my current glasses are and the distance is twice my current prescription. When I took them back in they told me that I needed to talk to the doctor about the prescription. I told them that I don't have any confidence that the doctor would give me the right prescription. I just wanted my money back. The guy that waited on me said that they wouldn't give me a refund. I was dumbfounded. He said that since it was what the doctor ordered that they wouldn't but they could change it out to the prescription in my current glasses. I will never go back to Stanton and I will make sure that everyone I know hears of the experience I had there. They don't stand behind their product nor the doctors that have an office in their store. They are not concerned about customer service or apparently their reputation because I told the young man that I would let the world know of my experience. read more

Stanton Optical in Corpus Christi is HORRIBLE! My husband and I both scheduled appointments as I had previously had a good experience with a Doctor who I found was no longer there. The Optometrist who saw both of us was terrible. I went back twice to check my script. I was getting headaches and was told it was the contact lenses they gave me. Went to TSO and had my eyes checked and found that it was indeed the PRESCRIPTION NOT THE CONTACT BRAND. I went back to Stanton and demanded a refund which I was given after a little hassle. My husband was not so fortunate. He had the same experience with headaches, his glasses were so cheap they broke within a month, and his prescription sunglasses constantly gave him a headache. Went to TSO to find the prescription was off. Went back to Stanton for refund on exam and was denied. No refund on cheap glasses because they were broken. BUYER BEWARE! Although Stanton may be cheaper... so is the quality of EXAM AND MERCHANDISE! YOU DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR WITH STANTON!!!! WIll never go back and will let all who we know to not go there as well.
