***DO NOT GO TO STANTON OPTICAL*** Went to Stanton Optical in Beavercreek Ohio for a eye exam. My eyes had suddenly been getting worse so I made an appointment at Stanton's. I had never been there and was a little shocked that the receptionist gave me part of my eye exam. Then sat me in a room with a tv monitor and said the doctor will be with you soon! Yep! Sure enough the doctor comes on the tv screen, has me read some letters and that was it. I go out into the store pick out my glasses, get transition lens, anti glare, anti scratch. She said it will be less than 2 weeks and that will be 322.00 after insurance. Roughly 4 weeks later I picked up my glasses. One week later the lens fell out and I took them back to be fixed. I told the girl I was having a hard time seeing and she said that I just needed to get adjusted to them. My eyes are getting worse with bad headaches so I end up getting another eye appointment at another doctor ( a real live doctor). It took her less than 20 minutes to tell me I have large cataracts in both eyes. I had them test my glasses from Stanton and she said there was barely a prescription in them, that they weren't much more than readers! Now I'm looking at having to have surgery that I could have possibly had 3 months ago! I'm waiting to hear back from Corporate to see about a reimbursement. Fingers crossed! read more

You don't see a real doctor in person. Its a telemedicine appointment. You are left alone in a room with a tv screen. The equipment moves on its own. They offer glasses for $79 which are children's discounted glasses. Very disappointed. read more

The place in Beavercreek is not good. I should have known since when I went for my exam I heard 2 customers come in and complain their prescriptions were wrong. Stupidly I went ahead and ordered glasses anyway. In 2 weeks they came in as promised. However, when I went to pick them up, the lenses were not even in the frames, and the lady who helped me said there was a small defect in one of the frames and she didn't feel comfortable giving them to me that way, so she was going to send them back And then I would be notified when they came back in fast-forward a month later, and I still don't have the glasses. I go into the location and was told it's gonna be a while because there's only two of them on staff. I waited patiently and a gentleman helped me but he could not find my glasses either he said he was going to check into them and then give me a call back later that day I never heard back so I called the store and spoke with someone and they cannot find my glasses. Now I'm waiting on a call back as to what happened to them, but I'm concerned that I'm never going to get the glasses that I paid for which cost $170 and I use my insurance benefits which I only get every two years and I may be out of luck. I will never you Stanton optical nor will I refer them to anybody as a matter of fact, I tell people never to go there. The eye exam was even terrible that you're talking to someone that's on a TV screen doing your eye exam the waiting area the day I was there smelled like a bar, stale beer and cigarettes. The place is actually pretty dirty. The carpet doesn't look like it gets cleaned very often. It's just not a good business. I'm sorry that I ordered my glasses from there and what really stinks is. I went in to get a contact lens exam I've been here before I always get the same contacts. This time they insisted I couldn't use the lenses I've always got bc I have an astigmatism well I've always had one and always used the same lenses I expressed I did not want to change but they still made my $125 prescription useless unless I buy the overpriced torid lenses I FLAT OUT DO NOT WANT!!!! Booked an appointment online and arrived five minutes early for the appointment and ended up sitting for over 52 minutes without any attention tried to cancel the appointment through the number and the so call Cust rep direct me to the local store which nobody was at counter, walked into one of the rooms to tell them to cancel the appointment. I created a Yelp account just so that I could leave this review. Stanton optical at Fairfield Mall in Dayton Ohio is by far the worst business I have ever had the displeasure of working with. On March 18, 2023 I had an appointment for an eye exam and purchased a pair of my glasses and contact lenses. The eye glasses arrived within a couple of weeks and I have had no problem with them. However the contact lenses had a problem with my prescription. I returned to Stanton optical on March 20, 2023 for a follow up contact lens exam. This was an in person exam with the doctor, not remote. A disappointment, the doctor discovered that the lenses had not been formulated for my astigmatism, so he corrected the prescription and submitted the order for new contacts. A couple weeks later, when I had still not received any notification that my new contacts were ready for pick up I stopped by the store. They are, I was told that the prescription order had not been submitted at the time of my appointment. I was assured that they would submit the order for me and I should receive my contacts soon. April comes and goes and I did not receive any notification that my contacts are ready. I called customer service again the first week of May and was told that the order was a process but should be completed within a couple of days. And that I would receive a notification when it was ready for pick up. Again, this never actually happened. So I called again today May 25, 2023 and was told to order was still in process. This time I was given an estimated date of June 3 when the order would be ready. I have no reason to believe this is actually going to happen. Stanton optical, get your act together! Is this how you treat all of your customers? At this point, I am ready to wash my hands of you but I want what I paid for. Rest assured, I would not recommend your company to anybody. Two pair of glasses was around $250 one year ago. Now over $700. Was told glasses would arrive 1-2 weeks. Received one pair and they've lost my order for second pair and it's been 3 weeks now. Very unprofessional admin staff. When trying to track down 2nd pair, the telephone conversation yielded absolutely nothing other than "another week or more". I hated the remote eye exam with a Dr. who could barely speak English. She didn't seem to understand that I could not understand her. Finally went to pick up my glasses. And of course, they were wrong. The clerk tried to tell me the frames were correct. Not only that, the prescription was not what I had ordered. Like another reviewer mentioned I wear a real bifocal. when the clerk went to mark the glasses for the bifocal she made the exact same comment which led me to believe she remembered me. Well she did not. she said she could not remember me as she sees a million people. To this I responded that yes I could tell how many people she sees as there was absolutely no other person in the shop. (much like it was the day I went in for my exam). So as advertised you can get a free eye exam. I scheduled an eye exam because I start school again next week and heard this place was pretty good. But was very disappointed to see that the eye exam was not free due to my insurance, which I can understand. But was not informed about at all and had to took off work early. But I was greeted by a very rude lady at the front desk talking with colleagues (I'm assuming). Just very unprofessional setting with very unprofessional rude people. Where do I start? My frames broke after about 15 months of very light use. So I called the Stanton phone number, which goes to a call center of reps that sound like English is their 2nd language. They had a hard time understanding my issue. Then, every time they tried to transfer me to my local store (in Beavercreek OH) the call would roll to voicemail. After two days of this, and two days of them telling me they've requested someone from the store call me, I was able to get the to give me the store's direct number. I called the store directly around 20 times in two days and was never ever to get someone to pick up. Here's where it really gets good. I finally give up and drive to the store (about 30 miles) just to see if they still carry my frame and how long the warranty lasts. They carry the frame, but the warranty is only for 12 months. After stating my disappointment I'm their service the manager did honor my warranty. That is the ONLY reason I didn't give one star. So, after finding out they had the frames I then had to come back the next day to get my lenses put in the new frames and the glasses fitted to my face. A nice woman started the fitting, then passed my off to a rude man. I would start explaining how I the fit was off, then he'd cut me off and say "yeah, I see what they need... just give them to me". Then he handed me off to a 3rd person. This older man made several comments about how I had a "crooked face" as he made adjustments. To top things off, I check out the phone problem I called their direct line while I was standing near one. The ringers on all of the phones were OFF. A light blinks, then it eventually rolls to the call center. Their voicemail light was also lit with who know how many messages. All in all, I recommend you avoid this place like the plague. Their rating is low for a reason. I called 4 days prior to my appointment to confirm my insurance was accepted and in network. I was even placed on hold so the representative could verify with his supervisor. I was told I was good to go. I drive 25 minutes. I get to my appointment. I once again show my insurance cards to the staff. Staff says they are accepted etc. I sit down. 5 minutes later a staff member comes over to say they do not accept my insurance but I would get a discount? Her explanation for why my time was waisted and why everyone said it was accepted was because "sometimes they just see a name and think we take all of the plans " ? Wow! At this point I have zero confidence in the abilities Stanton Optical. It took 3 ppl and a lot of waisted time to accomplish one simple thing. read more

I got two pairs of glasses from Stanton Optical in Beavercreek OH. Due to an issue (separate from my transaction with Stanton) I needed to get my glasses prescription changed. I thought I would be paying out of pocket for the new lenses, since my insurance had already paid for the original glasses prescription. However, because the changed prescription was within 30 days of the original purchase, the glasses are being corrected with no charge to me. Stanton Optical lenses get dirty easier and are harder to clean than any lenses I've purchased since I started wearing glasses 15 years ago. The technicians were friendly and experienced but having the Optometrist diagnose remotely is awkward and not a great business model. read more

When I went this was actually a telehealth appointment conducted by someone reading a script in very heavily accented English over a software platform that froze briefly at least twice. Ok whatever telehealth is the wave of the future but they should at least inform people of what they're signing up for so there are no unpleasant surprises. Otherwise it feels like a bait and switch and you get a packed waiting room full of pissy people. I then waited 45 minutes for a different remote doctor to write my damn prescription. I've never had to wait that long for a prescription to be typed and signed. They don't include your PD on the scrip either but by the time I got mine I wasn't going to fight to get it. I only selected this optical office because my daughter was in a pinch and needed glasses ASAP. Website stated that most glasses could be ready same day as long as they weren't bifocals. I totally should have read the reviews before visiting because I would have definitely stayed away. So impersonal with the virtual exam. I also question its accuracy. People were packed in one right after another with only two employees working. The deals they offer are total scams. They claim 2 pair for $79. I could only find one pair in the whole store that qualified for this deal. The frames offered are cheaply made and way overpriced. Even with the other deal of "buy one get one free", you still end up paying $500 plus. We ended up just choosing one pair for over $300 and then were told after paying that my daughter's lenses weren't in stock and we should expect to have them in 2 weeks. I could have taken her to our normal optical office and gotten a pair of Ralph Lauren or Michael Kors for the same price in less time. After three attempts to get the prescription right, I gave up and have been yak g the same wrong prescription for the last year. It all boiled down to... The doctor gave me a rushed 15 second eye exam and didn't do any measuring for the bi focal portion. The first time I went back they tried to tell me the lens was made wrong because they "assumed" I was going with line less bi focals. Not once did I tell them this was my choice. I said, more than once, I wanted lined. In spite of my telling them many times the prescription was wrong they refused to give me a better exam. Two more tries by them to fix it were wrong because of their refusal to give me another exam. I sent a message to corporate and they referred me back to the store with no resolution to the problem. I have to wait another year for my insurance to cover a new pair so my headaches continue and my glasses don't do a thing. Don't go here, even in an emergency. These guys are awful. So first of all, my rx for one eye changed by .25 and I was trying to see about a trial pair. I was told that they would check with the optometrist and the optometrist said no. Thereafter I called the prescriber who let me know that if indeed they could dispense my original prescription as a trial lens and then order me my initial lens all they had to do was contact the provider but of course in this day and age everyone's lazy as fuck and of course didn't wanna do any kind of legwork. I am a healthcare provider and I am well aware of restrictions with prescription in regards to dosages and indications etc. etc. so for you to tell me that you can't do it is pure bullshit because first of all you weren't even sure about what the legislation or laws were and you had to ask your optometrist second you just come back and say no you can't do that no one of you could've call the prescriber to have that dispensed for a one time emergency but of course yeah like I said lazy business and not a customer service oriented do not recommend this place. Do not sit there and tell me you can't do anything about it because the thing of the fact of the matter is a provider can call another provider just like a pharmacist would call a doctor and OK or you know fax over a one time prescription that legitimizes the transaction but of course these lazy people didn't wanna do that in a disheveled store and you don't want any business OK that makes a lot of sense of read more

Pretty decent optometry, though not the best I have been too. Its decorated in modern decor and they have the largest selection of eyeglasses I have ever seen, especially for women. The doctor was nice, but it was in and out. She didn't really tell me any concerns or issues with my eyes, and I know there are plenty, so that kind of disturbed me. The salesgirls/assistants were really nice though, but in the end they are salespeople. The deals are not too bad, buy one get one free. But of course you have to pay extra for non-glare lenses and all that good stuff. The glasses came in within 2 days after I ordered them, which is faster than most places. The prescription sunglasses I ordered had to be reordered because when she cleaned them the tint came off. Weird? Also, they give you your glasses in a really ugly case that says Stanton Optical on it, and they don't supply you with a cleaning cloth or cleaning solution. Most places do. I would suggest maybe JCPenney Optical, although they don't have as much of a selection when it comes to frames. read more

This is a pretty complex review to write. We came in on a weekend which I highly do NOT recommend. They are busy as all get out and they just don't have enough staff to help all of the customers. Just about every time I have been there I have seen people walk out because there was just not enough help. On the positive side? The price can NOT be beat nor can the selection. They have the largest selection of glasses under one roof. They have everything from affordable to brand name frames. The best part? Buy one get one free. No gimmicks...that is just how they roll. Staff is a toss up. It depends who you get. The doctor who gives exams is amazing. He took the time to help me find the perfect glasses for my face and this was not even his job. I am so glad he did this because the girl in the ceil blue scrubs did not. She helped me to pick out frames that were just too huge for me. So much so they had to be returned. The girls were all very friendly however not all of them were perfect at their job. I still can't figure out why they wear scrubs. All in all I will be back. I made an appointment and got in right away. The opthalmologist was friendly and he took his time with me. I never felt rushed or pressured. He made a diagnosis which was accurate as I have been having blurry vision. The sales people were awesome. Not pushy gave me space to shop and then when I was ready went over all my options My salesperson inquired what features I wanted so I could make an informed decision of what I wanted. Immediately when walking in an employee told me that they can't do eye exams today for walk ins. Two customers who walked in after me were both helped before me.
