Again, no maintenance available. I am 73, have COPD, and really struggled with having to use the stairs. I reported these incidents to Comfort Inn, and they sent me an apology. That's it.

So it would take several minutes to fill up a tall glass of water. Same situation with the bathtub - just a trickle of cold water mixed with a somewhat stronger stream of hot water. So filling the tub 1/3rd full took a long time. Worst of all they fooled me on the room price: I booked online for a Sunday night stay, Oct. 4 for $61.01 including tax. I stayed two more nights in the same room (#302) and was charged $61.01 for the second night, Monday, Oct. 5 and a shocking $122.04 for the third night, Tuesday, Oct. 6 Staff did not notify the price for Tuesday night would double !! But staff had my credit card on file so went ahead a charged it. There were no special events in town and $122 is above the Tuesday night price of much fancier nearby motels such as the Comfort Inn. I feel ripped off by Super 8 / Wyndham.

We stayed in a suite - 2 queen beds as well as a sofa bed. It was such a large room; perfect for our family! The sink was separate from the bathroom, and there was a second sink in the kitchen area. The kitchen area had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. There were plenty of places for everyone's phone/watch chargers. Everything was clean. A/C was cold. We did have to ask for a few more washcloths and towels, since we were 5 people, but the front desk took care of it. The hotel seemed quite full (we saw at least two high school teams there), yet we did not hear lots of noise, and had no problems getting a good night's sleep. Breakfast is included in your stay. Even with the two large groups staying at the same time as us, the breakfast was refilled often, so we were still able to enjoy all the choices available. There was bacon, omelets, toast, muffins, bagels, scones, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, waffles, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, and water. The breakfast attendant did a great job. This was a great stay after a full day of driving! I would highly recommend staying here.

I think I paid around $150 or so, and the main reason I booked was because of the high rating here on Yelp. My biggest problem with the room was the bed. It was really firm mattress, no padded top of any kind, and the pillows and sheets were really low thread count stuff. The pillows were small and had those billowy, rough, pillow covers on them. Not very comfortable, at all. The pillows were also very soft, like envelop your head completely soft. The sheet and the blanket/cover was the same. I rarely use anything but the sheet in hotels nowadays, but it was rough as well. Thankfully I was just there for the night, but I would have hated to have a multi night stay here with the bed accommodations. I can kind of understand the possible reason for this. The parking lot had to be 75% full of company work trucks, so that has to be the predominate clientele in this town. Maybe they don't want to invest a lot in something that might have to be changed a lot, I dunno. My fridge was kinda noisy till I dealt with it, (don't ask how) but other than that and the bed, everything was pretty good. Could've used some curtains that blocked out the sun better, but whatever. I also was a little miffed at while going through the TV channels, I saw something I wanted to watch but when I chose it I got a message that said "to watch this channel, call and upgrade to higher video service". You gotta be kidding me, what a racket. I honestly wouldn't stay here again voluntarily. I would either find another hotel, which I didn't see a big choice here, or keep driving until something better is available.

While the town of Big Spring isn't much to look at, this hotel has been resurrected from the dead and made to shine brighter than ever. Despite the age, the elevators weren't worrying at all, and the woman at the front desk recommended a high floor to us for the view. I'm glad she did because it really was beautiful to watch the sun set across the vast flatness of Texas from the 11th floor. Before I get to the room, I have to shoutout how beautiful the lobby is. Grand staircase, beautiful decor, an antique car, informative history on the walls, AND an amazing bar and a great restaurant on site too. It's awesome, and my friend and I were both impressed by the drinks we got with dinner. We were all very satisfied with our dinners and the portions were generous. Customer service was also top notch in every aspect, and that's definitely not just because they gave us a delicious homemade chocolate chip cookie (omg so good). Now to get to the hotel room... first of all, it was HUGE! Probably the biggest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Two big beds with a generous amount of space around them, a full coffee bar at the entrance to the room, a big walk-in closet space, a vanity, and a huge bathroom that had a soaking tub AND a spacious shower stall. Honestly, we were stunned by the size of the room and that was only capped off by the comfort of the beds. After road tripping across Texas all day, these were absolutely magical. This place is the only 'chain' to stay in while visiting Lamesa (all the other places are no-name,…read moreshady type establishments). That said, their prices are ridiculous since they can charge whatever they want and the fact that since Midland's oil boom, they have an overflow people staying there while working. In the first room we had, the air would not get lower than 80 something and the mini-refrigerator didn't work and had water standing in the bottom of it. Second room (thank God!) had a good A/C and working fridge. When I asked the front desk about speaking to the manager (concerning the first room), I was told that he was in India and that the maintenance person did not live in Lamesa. Really? The person that provides maintenance for when something is broken doesn't even live here!??! Both vending machines on the 2nd and 3rd floor were inoperable and when I went out one morning around 7:00 and tried to come back in, the sliding door wouldn't open, even when I used my key card. The lady at the front desk couldn't even get the door to open!!!! The only reason that I finally got back in was due to me summoning some youngsters through the glass to pull the glass doors apart!
