My experience was great from start to finish. Getting an estimate They made it so simple. I was told to just stop by when they are open. When I got there, Ellie looked at the car and gave me an estimate right away. Pricing I though their pricing is more than reasonable and transparent. As it turned out, nothing was broken (as Ellie had suspected). They had to remove the bumper and re-attach it to make it straight. They did it for a flat fee of $125 plus tax. That was the estimate, and that's exactly what I paid. Scheduling They had an opening the following week. So, I dropped off my car in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon. Best auto body shop around town! Had to get a considerable amount of work done and was worried about taking it to the right place and definitely glad I took it to Stan's! Not only could they get my truck in much faster compared to other shops they were communicative and honest during the whole process. Insurance companies are always a pain and they helped ease that hassle. From getting my truck (that couldn't drive) to the shop to making sure every last detail was perfect and to my liking, Stan's put in the greatest effort. Even in the challenges of supply chain and getting a hold of parts, Ellie was putting in the work to get every piece and bolt needed for my truck! This store must only be doing insuranace claims as they want to replace EVERYTHING and still charge 14 hours of labor and $800.00 for a new door when the other 3 places I took the car too all said "Why replace the door?" 3 other quotes were all LESS THAN HALF and I was shown there work on similar damage. I have one of those cars with a low front-end that gets caught on parking stoppers. You know, those cement things you pull up to and gently tap your tire against when you park. Well....my car gently glided in place but when I backed out, it ripped my bumper off. Stan's Auto Body to the rescue. Stan's was not who my insurance company recommended, but based on reviews it's who I chose. First off, if your insurance company is trying to sell you on how their preferred shop is the only one to guarantee the work, they're fibbing to you. Stan's guarantee's their work for as long as you own the car. My experience at Stan's was everything you could hope for and more. Professional, honest, ethical, customer focused and communicative. I bought my car gently used car with a clean Carfax report but when Stan's pulled the bumper off, someone had already tried repairing the same issue with less professionalism. Ellie called and explained everything with many pictures to support the findings, both before and after. She also negotiated with the insurance company to pick-up some extra expenses not in the original quote to make sure the car would be safe to drive, and would protect passengers (as intended by the manufacturer) in the event of an accident. The prior "backyard repair" caused some challenges to bring the car back to "ideal" and I'll admit it isn't perfect, but there was no hiding by Stan's and everything was documented and communicated. The repair is as perfect as you could get given the circumstances and I'm happy with the result. Solid work at a good price. Had someone try to take off the right side mirror on our car on a Friday. Was able to call Stan's and make an appointment for Saturday as they needed to order in the part. Car went in early and was done mid afternoon. Price was 1/3 the cost of the dealer and 30% better than the two other shops I called that told me it would be 2-3 days to get the part. I walked outside after a recent windstorm to find a large branch resting on my driver's side power mirror, now hanging by a wire. I was at a loss as to how to even temporarily re-attach in order to get it to a shop. I called Stan's and talked to Jeff who told me to bring it in asap. I left the car at Stan's and in a couple hours they glued the mirror back on for $40. I've priced these mirrors from wrecking yards and they're usually $80-100, and good luck finding the right color. My car was broken into a while back and I took it to Stan's to get fixed. I mentioned off hand that a sliver of glass jabbed my finger as I talking to a gal there while I was getting out of my car. She took it upon herself to have my entire car detailed in addition to replacing the window and dented panels so that I wouldn't run into any more glass shards. I had Jeff replace a damaged mirror.They charged a very reasonable fee, 1/4 price of Grand Centrals quote. And even rewired a pigtail section that wasn't the correct length on the new mirror at no cost. Normally, I would do this all myself but it was an insurance job, with that said, I still feel like the price was more than fair. The experience and staff were excellent! read more

Jeff at Stan's auto body is a straight shooter. I took my Mazda in to get the mirror replaced. We talked about using aftermarket mirror because i was going to sell it. When they put the mirror on it looked great, however when I was driving to Idaho, I noticed the blind spot monitors were not working. I called Jeff. He recommended taking it to a place in Idaho (because I wasn't' going back to Bellingham soon). Turned out the after-market mirror did not have a blind spot monitor. Jeff stood by their work and offered to pay half of the new factory mirror. It cost me about the same as if I ordered a factory mirror in the first place. You learn a lot about a business when there's a problem. Stan's stood by their work and helped come up with a 'solid' solution. Thank, Jeff. I would highly recommend Stan's to anybody. read more

There is no question that I made the right decision in taking my car to Stan's. I did my research and got several estimates. Stan's was in the ballpark, but what sets them apart is the people. Went to Stan's after my Subie got "gently" rear-ended. From the minor damage sustained (big scratches with only small dents) I didn't think the repairs would be too big a deal, but the bumper ended up needing to be replaced. Took my car to Stan's for an estimate; they squeezed me in the same day and Ellie was super kind, efficient and got my estimate back to me before the day was over. Initially I was shocked at the price to fix it but after asking around, turns out it was a great rate. Insurance of the person who hit me covered everything, and Jeff explained to me over the phone how everything would work, down to the T which I LOVED. (My next-to-nothing knowledge about cars combined with my Virgo-y need for step-by-step detail made me very appreciative of how clearly he explained the process!) I had my car in after being rear ended. PEMCO recommended Stan's and I am glad they did. The service was amazing, the quality of the work was outstanding, and the price very competitive. I was concerned about some of the reviews here on Yelp. The business was recently purchased by a very friendly and responsive young man named Erik so some of the older reviews can be ignored. I asked about the circumstances behind the more recent critical review and after hearing the story I can assure others that the review can be disregarded. So great. Melissa at the front was extremely nice. My car was finished earlier than they had anticipated and Stan's and my insurance talked with each other so I didn't have to do anything. I ended up paying wayyyyy less than was quoted AND they fixed more than they said they could. I don't know very much about cars or car crashes (I mean jerks hitting my car in a parking lot and then peacing out), or fixing the damage, but I am certain my car looks awesome and the process of fixing it was nearly painless. read more

I'm a return customer. I had a dent in a passenger door which was there at the time I bought my car. A few years back I asked for an estimate for repairs at another body shop. The cost was so high I elected to ignore dent since this would be an out of pocket expense. When I had the previous body work done on my car recently I asked for an estimate to repair the door dent. Their estimate was much lower than the other shop's. I got my car back yesterday. The quality of the work was excellent. It would be very difficult, if not impossible, to detect any previous damage. Stan's also replaced the pin-striping on my car at a minimal cost. My car is a 1998 Toyota. It looks like new again thanks to Stan's. Jeff, the owner, and Melissa, the manager, were great during this whole process. If you believe in supporting local businesses I would encourage you to consider Stan's. A friend recommended Jeff at Stan's Auto Body, and when I checked out the reviews and rating I decided to check them out for repairs to my front bumper, grill and possible frame damage. They were GREAT! I stopped in for an estimate and Jeff came right out to look things over. I felt he was thorough, honest and listened to what I was hoping for and suggested options. We agreed on a course of action and he found the parts at very reasonable prices. Then we set up a time for the work that was most convenient. I allotted a week, and was very pleasantly surprised that it was done in one day. The work was excellent and transparent with what was needed, what was done, and options that could be considered (not necessary). And they were even a little under estimate price too! SHADY BUSINESS, Terrible work! My car had minor damage on one fender, just needed to be replaced and repainted, simple job and insurance was handling it. Decided to give my business to a small local shop, Stan's Auto Body, and I have never regretted doing business with a company so much. First off they did a terrible job and took a very long time. Orange-peel was horrendous, paint did not even match, and the overspray was very apparent on other panels. Not happy about the work, then I found out they actually CAUSED DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. Destroyed an electronic cable, then very cheaply and hazardously repaired it by splicing into unsafe cables. I confronted the owner about this and he aggressively denied all of it, even though I have clear evidence proving they caused the damage. Over $1,000 worth of damage by trying to help out the community. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! Reporting to BBB, terrible company, terrible work, terrible experience!!!! read more
