Stanley Steemer was scheduled twice in the last to clean the rugs in my 98 year old mothers apartment but both times they did not show up. The most recent time they said that they can't service her location. This excuse was never discussed with us earlier. If you want to get your carpet cleaned I would suggest someone else. read more

Actually booked twice for carpet cleaning and was given a window of time in which they would arrive. Moved furniture both times to make the job easier, got help in to be with my 98 year old mother when they arrived and both times they were a no show. I called them about duct cleaning. They quoted me $40.00 for each heating duct and $150.00 to clean the furnace. The furnace is new so they eliminated the furnace cleaning charge. The morning of the service they called and informed me that thier first appointment was cancelled and they would be at the property in 30 min. They also added back the furnace cleaning charge and said it was the base price for the service call. I live one hour drive from the project site. I received a call from them, when I was 10min from the house to inform me that they couldnt clean the ducts because of the location of the furnace, which is easily accessible in the middle of the basement. They wasted two hours of my day plus the cost of gas. Why do they quote and set appointments for service over the phone when they actually need to see the HVAC system to quote the job? read more

This is our first experience with Stanley Steemer. The person who arrived and cleaned our floors was very punctual arriving earlier than expected. He was very nice, friendly, and did a very good job. We have a few high traffic areas where we live and he explained that the dark marks from the high traffic probably are going to come out. My overall experience with Stanley Steemer was a very good experience and they are even cheaper to use over Sears. read more

The techs did a nice job cleaning our carpets and furniture. However, I would NEVER recommend this company because they have the worst customer service I have experienced with any company EVER. The price was for $99 but sales guy said they could do it for cheaper if I had more work done.... Just wanted a simple answer, how much, how long.... I cannot recommend this business to anyone. I contracted with them to clean two room carpets, an area rug and a chair. They charged me an additional $25.00 for a hallway. I live in a modular home and do not have a hallway. I called on three different occasions and was told a manger would call me back. I was asked to send pictures of the layout of my home and area in question, which I did, and still no one returned my call. Beware of the charges on your bill if you contract with them. read more

I had a great experience with them many years ago, but their service took a nosedive. First, the number you call appears to be a local number but connects you to a phone bank. The young girl I talked to did not seem to be paying attention to anything I said. Was she concentrating on the script of questions to ask, or texting? She said they would call before arrival. I told them I don't live at the home being cleaned. They never called. When they arrived at the home and no one was home, neither they nor the business manager called to ask what was going on. I found this out when I called the phone bank towards the end of the 4-hour waiting period to say I never heard from them and did not want to wait any further and definitely did not want to reschedule. Operator's only response was, "They DO call before arriving." Thanks but no thanks. read more

they came to clean living room furniture. ok job. they hooked up water through our washer room. after, our washing machine did not work. we contemplated buying new washer then decided to call a repair service. it cost 100.00 to walk in the door. the minute the young man came in he noticed the cold water was not turned on. he adjusted that and said stanly steamer unhooked it and did not turn it back on. we r in our 80's had no clue! we have called headquarters and here in Rochester to reimburse us at least some of that cost. no one has called back or offered a partial payback on their mistake. now, won't answer phone calls at all. the main headquarters said he emailed the Rochester, NY and told him to handle this. not one call has come from them! Showed up on time called 30 min. Prior to arrival. Quote I received online was what I was charged. I asked if they would possibly have time to do an extra rug, and they did it quickly and efficiently. Dog had gotten sick all over my rugs and carpets. We had cleaned it ourselves but the barf smell lingered. The house smells great now as I wait for them to dry. Would use again and recommend. read more

called the National number for Stanley Steemer and made a appointment for office carpet cleaning. About a hour after the scheduled appointment the cleaners never showed up.I called the national number and apparently the call was forwarded to the local franchisees personal cell phone. I politely asked if they were coming or not to clean my carpets. The man started screaming at me how did I get his number and why was I calling him..After explaining that I was waiting for his crew he proceeded to swear at me and challenged me to meet him at his sons soccer game in Webster so he could break my face in his words..I disconnected the call and the next day called Stanley headquarters to complain. I was brushed off and never received a call from Stanley Steemer corporate to discuss my problem I had. Now here is the twist, maybe a week later someone else in my office called Stanley Steemer to schedule a cleaning not knowing about my previous problem of being threatened by the local Stanley Steemer guy. And the crew did come on a Saturday to clean the carpets at the office as scheduled. They were two respectful young men and they took their time and did a excellent job and removed many hard stains. I was very pleased and even gave them a tip to get lunch. So happy ending right? nope..So the office calls Stanley Steemer again to set up a cleaning. but the rep at the national number gets back on the phone and says sorry we cant clean for our company apparently there was a problem at the last cleaning. I proceeded to explain the situation of me being threatened and yelled at but assumed maybe another cleaner under Stanly was sent and we had no problems at all with our last cleaning. The franchisee lied and said we were a problem and that is not true. I explained to corporate what happened and asked to speak to someone about what happened and with the franchisee being untruthful saying we were the problem when the last cleaning was problem free. Corporate never called back and apparently they allow their franchised cleaners to verbally threaten customers with violence..Good carpet cleaning but scary people to deal with read more

Not a very professional, service-oriented business. Yesterday on my street two Stanley Steemer service trucks were in my neighborhood when the first vehicle's driver became so irate in traffic congestion that he started shouting profanities out his window so loud that it caught our attention while sitting in the backyard. My girlfriend and I thought a fit was breaking out only to witness, upon investigation, the Stanley Steemer driving "flipping off" several people! Just a few comments on your service, * First they arrived on time. However had a broken water supply connection, which if I wasn't a handy professional person to repair the hose connection not sure what would have happen. * Second they did not do the job I requested. I accidently spilled a glass of Dr. Pepper cherry cola on a new tan carpet and wanted them to concentrate on that area, which they did not. So the stain is still there. * Third they sent a 1 month experience employee when I expected highly experience employees. * Forth I asked them to leave me a extra bottle of the supposedly was a special mixture that only is formulated by Stanley Steemer. And they did not have any more than that one bottle on the truck. * Fifth I called the retailer / installer and Mfg. and had a complete make-up sheet of my carpet and showed them of the type of carpet it was made of and they seemed to not even care. The Mfg. told me each carpet cleaning process is different for different made carpets. Based off of my experience of Stanly Steemer it will not be my choice in the future. I am highly disappointed in there service. I also had a extremely hard time getting a receipt emailed for the service and spent almost an hour over the phone trying to get them to email me a receipt. I finally had them fax it to me. And above all that had my time to repair there equipment plus the phone that was a total waste to me. After all this I called them back and they did send an experienced employee but even with a special cleaning solution he said he makes up at the shop did not work. Currently the manager of a large delivery service, set up an appointment with a very courteous woman for a cleaning. Took all the proper information and they arrived for the cleaning. During the cleaning they refused to move a bed to clean underneath and that is understandable for liability reasons however no call or follow up regarding incomplete service due to preexisting conditions, I do however have a customer who is irrate that we now need to take care of and set up a second appointment. Call several times and they can't seem to find a record of the service. Then we need to be transferred to that branch that services that area and have to leave a message which goes unanswered, we call back two more times and same song and dance. Get through to the branch today and the associate wants to argue the fact that he doesn't believe we have been calling because he's in the office all of the time but if we tried calling during a 4 hour span one day it's not their fault they didn't have service it's mine and I should just keep calling like we have been. We are a huge account for them and if service like this continues we will take our business elsewhere and the rest of my company will be informed of the second rate service this local owner provides. Two guys showed up to clean my parents carpets. We did not follow them around while they steam cleaned the carpets. They left everything soaking wet. My carpets bubbled and now have to be re stretched. These carpets were just brand new installed about 3 years ago. They were there the Christmas Eve 2015. They left and my mother realized that a ring was missing along with my fathers watch. They filed a police report and between two police departments. Both guys started handing over things that were stolen from multiple homes. My mother contacted the office and corporate Stanley Steamer and received no response after several calls and was told that they would get a call back and never did. Refund of not only the carpet cleaning as now I have to hire someone to re-stretch the carpets because apparently they were more interested in soaking the carpets while stealing things from homeowners, but a refund for the water and ring which I have the receipts to. read more
