This is the first time I have ever gotten my carpets cleaned. I am very pleased with the service. I had tried to get them done by another company in the area and the people who showed up were not really someone you would want to let in; the van was unmarked, they didn't have uniforrms, etc. I was really pleased when John Stead showed up. The van was very obviously from the company. His appearence was neat and clean and he was so friendly. He described in good detail the work to be done and made me feel comfortable with the services I was getting for the price. The best surprise was yet to come. I can not believe how great the carpets turned out. I have not cleaned them in a year and I have two dogs that run through. It was disgusting and now they look brand new. If I could rate them less than one star, I would. to make a long story short, they came to our office to strip and wax our floors and after three times, three weekends, the floors still look terrible. They didn't clean the floor, each time they did it, they cleaned the floor a little better, but after three times, there is still hair stuck in the wax, corners are dirty, and shoe tread marks are in all the rooms. Wax is uneven and thin. It looks so bad. Don't ever hire them for this service, they have no idea what they are doing. read more

The two Stanley Steemer workers did a great job on our carpets, tiles and furniture (including leather furniture). They removed stains made by some delivery people that we were unable to remove by using the usual products at home and they moved most furniture (within reason). They showed up within the time frame promised and worked very hard for about 5 hours until they were finished. read more

We had our light carpets cleaned on Saturday and were very Happy with the outcome. Another competitor had cleaned them previously and left dirt spots. Stanley Steamer (SS) got all of the old spots out and the carpet look new.Very punctual AM appointment and arrived on time. Technician was very Professional and explained their process in detail so we knew what to expect. We were able to pay on our charge card and the "check out" was simple, plus we received a printed out paid in full receipt. We will definitely use them again and highly recommend them. read more

We used the upholstery cleaning service along with the deodorizer to clean our sofa. I was very pleased with the job he did and his punctuality. He actually arrived 20 minutes BEFORE the window they gave, which I feel is unheard of these days. What I wasn't happy with was the fact that he charged us about $100 more because it was a sectional instead of a straight sofa. This price difference was not made known to us until he arrived. I live downtown on Harbour Island. I have white carpet, two large dogs and a messy teenager. My carpet gets filthy, and the guys from stanley steemer always make it look new again! I specifically ask for the same crew each time. The very first crew I got didn't do a good job- when I called in to complain, the manager quickly apologized and offered to send out a senior crew. That made all the difference. I had just bought my home- it was a foreclosure and I was told that the carpet would probably need to be replaced. Cleaning it was a last ditch effort to try to salvage it. The second crew that came out spent several hours working on it, and when they left, it literally looked brand new. I couldn't believe it. Now, I have them come out every 3-6 months, it takes them about an hour to get it clean and it is dry by the next day. read more

Stanley Steemer Water Retrieval Division did an outstanding job. My home was flooded upstairs and downstairs. Carpet padding had to be pulled out, the water was vaccumed out which was an all day process and then fans/dehumidifiers put in. Every nook and cranny were checked. The final step is Stanley bringing in new padding and tacking all my carpets back down. The staff was incredibly helpful, personable and efficient. They worked right through their lunch. They were instrumental in keeping me calm in the mist of a disaster. I would never use anyone else to care for my home. read more

I contracted with Stanley Steemer in Riverview to clean my carpets and clean grout throughout my house. Along with additional deodorant they quoted me $674.00. As I am also a business owner they offered me a 10% discount bringing the total to to $594.00 which was just over 10%. I agreed and they were scheduled to come today. They showed up and walked my house. The technician suggested adding 4 Additional rooms of deodorant for $80.00 more and nook area tile grout cleaning for another $80.00. That would bring total to $754.00; however tech now said it would be $854.00. I said that was not possible. Tech called home office and said they never quoted me the $594.00. I asked to speak with Manager and I was put on phone with General Manager. We went over everything and GM said there was no record of the call and they would not honor the quoted price. Needless to say I would not let them start the job. The GM even said the same thing. Tell the techs to leave. Horrible that I have a written down quote, stay home from work to have the job done and then they bait and switch me. read more

Very deceptive. Do not bother. We asked for quote on cleaning stairs (14) and hallway (15 feet) plus 9 by 12 area rug (wool rug). Told us $79 for stairs and hallway. Said they couldn't give estimate on area rug until the tech saw iit. Wanted $250 to clean area rug and technician said the charge by foot. So no need to see it. Found a local rug cleaner who will do total job for $ 170. I assume half of people agree to their overpricing and lack of transparency. read more

I have newer light cream carpets. Last two times the other "Chemical" clean company came out and didn't get out the dirt and spots very well and left the carpet soaked. I had SS come this time and they did a fantastic job! The carpet looks so clean, got out the spots and it dried so much faster that the other company. Scammed me.... They came set up machines, worked them over three bedrooms with white carpet. The carpet did not look any different and scuffed up the hardwood with the hoses. I refused to pay unless they get the stains out, they said to pay $92 instead of $139 and send another crew the next day, guy came out next day and said can't get stain out and would have manager call. Within two days, 6 days later no call and I call 800 number and manager blows me off saying there is no guarantee. I am successful business owner in Clearwater beach that would never charge my clients for a product that does not work.. Stanley steemer Is only good at taking your money.... I had my tile floor in the kitchen cleaned and the grout sealed with a colored sealant. The floor looks very nice, although there are a few spots that they seemed to have missed. The bigger problem, however, is that the guys nicked a piece of fine furniture with their equipment and I didn't notice it until they had already pulled away. I've always been a fan until the last visit at my home. I was told a price for my carpets of around $300 and was told I would get a quote for my area rugs at a price of $2.00/sf. before the work was done. I was told that patio cushions would be $8.00/ea. My daughter called me and told me they gave her a total price of $2,700.00. I talked to the tech and told him not to do the work and was told it was already done. Everything looks nice, but I never would've have done it if given the pricing up front as promised. HUGELY disappointed! Once they arrived they quickly asked to demonstrate an additional colored grout service beyond what we wanted without even cleaning the grout first. We declined the grout color service. The minute we declined the additional service they told us they couldn't clean the grout as quoted. They packed their equipment and left. They were at my home for a total of 10 minutes. I have been using Stanley Steemer for years...have always been pleased with the quality and professionalism. I have had carpets cleaned, tile grout cleaned and upholstery cleaned. I have always been happy with the job they have done....Up until last week when they came and cleaned 2 room carpets and a heavy walk area in a bedroom....this area was not cleaned to my satisfaction, in fact, its a week later and it looks like it was never cleaned. I am disappointed, first time I felt like I got a sloppy job. I paid the price of having a hallway cleaned to have this heavy traffic area done and it simply is not clean. We couldn't be more pleased! We had tried Sears Carpet Cleaning several years ago and the crew of one, young man didn't care about his work and the results were unsatisfactory, so we were reluctant to hire anyone again. We bought a carpet steam shampooer and did the work ourselves. But eventually it broke, and our backs our older and achier, so we decided to try Stanley Steemer. The crew of two (Mike Jones and Robert Loadholtes) did an excellent job! They were meticulous and truly cared about their work. They did so well with the carpets, we gave them the laminate floors to clean, too. Laminate floors can be easily ruined, but Mike and Robert were very careful and thorough. So, we invited them back to also clean a large tiled floor and add a colored grout sealer that got rid of old stains. When we inspected their work at the end, they found tiny spots to improve upon that we hadn't noticed -- that's how meticulous they are! Also, they were courteous, friendly, helpful, and offered great advice -- true pros that I'd gladly bring back in again. read more

In January 2015 had my carpets cleaned, was very pleased with the service and the very professional young man who did the job. I've been wanting to have my tile floors and the grout cleaned for sometime now and just couldn't afford it. Recently Stanley Steamer had a coupon for $25.00 off - I took advantage of it and scheduled my floors to be cleaned. The technicians noticed the grout was in bad shape and recommended two options, I chose the acid wash with sealant which less expensive. I am so pleased, the floors look new. I had never used Stanley Steemer to clean tile floors, and was not sure how well that type of surface would be done. Now I know. They came today to clean our kitchen, hall, and bathroom tile floors. They are cleaner, and do look better than before -- for the most part. I thought I was pretty much satisfied ... until I went into the little bathroom that was in another part of the house. I didn't get there until quite a while after they left because I was avoiding treading on the floors in the other areas of the house. We had had the clear sealant put on the grout and they had warned us to avoid stepping on it. At first glance, the floor looks great -- then I looked more closely around and behind the toilet and in front of the vanity. NONE of that area had been done--the tile and grout had not been cleaned nor had the grout been sealed. I also noticed later that the area behind the door against the shower area had not been touched. There was also a film of, what I presume is, sealant on my Pergo floor that abuts the bathroom...we are NOT happy about that. When they set up, there were NO precautions taken to protect our carpets or furniture in the path of their equipment as they wove through the house. Then I came out and looked more closely at the other areas that were 'done', and the edges were not really carefully done. We're not surprised, however, because a third to half his time was spent trying to up-sell us on sealant/grout/colored grout. They (There was another man who said very little and, I believe, sprayed the pre-treatment and sealant on the grout.) spent less than an hour at the house from arrival to pack-up. Minus the chat time, little was left to labor time. Overall, it was an okay job...cleaner, but not complete, in my opinion. I'm hoping we have a different experience if we use Stanley Steemer again. read more
