Believe that annoying jingle ... Stanley Steemer DOES get carpets cleaner! We had become increasingly grossed out by the state of our carpet. Even though we are renting, we're not going to ask our landlord to send a carpet cleaner on account of our mess. (Side note: upon looking back at pictures from the time we've been in the apartment, the carpet only started getting dirty when our daughter started to walk, so about a year ago. Go figure.) The online reservation was SO EASY. I am the type of person who can't be bothered to make a call, wait on hold, etc. Here, you just log on to their website, plug in your address, and then choose from a variety of open dates/times on a calendar. You receive a confirmation email shortly thereafter, and a call when the guys are on their way to your house. The technicians were extremely professional and explained everything in such a way that I understood what my options were (for upgrading to more rooms, adding a protective layer, etc.). I decided to just go for broke and add a couple of rooms since they were there already, and there's a discount with each additional room. The entire process couldn't have taken more than an hour, and when they were done I could not believe the state of the carpet. There were a couple of spots that they couldn't get out -- baby formula, I think? But overall, it looked great. I got the protective layer too, because lord knows we spill stuff every day. It's been three weeks or so since the treatment, and the carpets still look amazing. read more

I was told they would move the furniture. Only 1 tech arrived and he wasnt happy to see the furniture. I am 76 and pulled all dining room chairs out and placed several pieces of furniture in the hallway. He didnt have shoe protectors. I asked where they were and he said there were non in the van. He did a pre-spray only on exposed carpet, he didnt move any furniture to spray beneath. He walked all over the clean carpet with street shoes after going to van 3 times for a second spray and to get those papers for some of the chair legs. No protectors for dining room table leg nor nothing left for TV stand. My carpet is dirtier now than before cleaning as I do not wear shoes on my carpet...I have a good email address to send this to the company all correspondence has come back undeliverable. I dont know what the second spray was for and that again was only sprayed to 40 % of carpet I do not recommend Stanly Steemer read more

On Tuesday July 22 I had furnace and ductwork cleaning in my home with Keith and Maika. They were both very friendly and professional. We were also offered air cleaning device to be installed in/at the furnace. We ultimately accepted. After installation it was found that there was no electric receptacle on furnace to plug into so as we had to improvise. My electric panel is also at capacity after adding this device which I wish I had known before installing. However, they were great at completing the task of cleaning, before and after photos were included. I do recommend Stanley Steemer for those that may need services. read more

*UPDATE* Management called me after my initial review, to further the lies they told. 3 year old hvac motors rarely go out unless theyve been damaged. This business is trash. I wouldn't trust stanley steemer for anything. I had them come out to clean duct work in August 2025. They wound up blowing stuff into my hvac sytem. The system started vibrating, louder and louder over a week or so. Called my hvac people who confirmed debris was blown into the hvac system. Then, due to the stress of all the vibration, the blower motor went out 10 days later. Of course stanley steemer denied they were at fault. Yes - I'm sure blower motors just go out all the time on 3 year old hvac units and it has nothing to do with all the crap your crew blew in there. What a joke. The blatant spin and lying by the csr and management were the worst part. They expect you to just sit there and be lied to like a child. At any rate - there are so many great small business owners in CLE who WILL stand by their work and work with you to make it right. This is a great town - find one of them. read more

Yesterday, Stanley Steemer sent James out to clean our carpets and grout in our bathrooms. He arrived during the window of time and looked over the house to assess the necessary cleaning. He did suggest cleaning our kitchen floors in addition to the job I had requested. He worked hard to clean our tile and carpeted floors and bathroom showers, and everything looked so much better when he was finished. My experience with cleaning services is minimal, but I am very pleased with the outcome! Great job James! read more

have them come to our house today. This was the second time that they were going to clean our couches and rug. Last time we were quoted $350 by the person which we didn't think was too bad but then today the service person named Eddie comes over tries to charge us almost $200 more for the couches and that the rug would be extra. Cleaner had a complete attitude when he came to the house we sent them away, saying that that was unreasonable went to talk to corporate and corporate is just as unprofessional as their cleaners. I wish I could give them a zero star review I have never written a review but this is the worst costumer service I have ever experienced . I am 9 months pregnant with my first baby and requested an air duct cleaning. Upon completion of the air duct cleaning the technician came up to my husband and said they had touched the wall in the newly built nursery with oily hands and tried to clean it but had made a bigger mess. Once they left i noticed that they had touched more parts of the house with the oily hands including my white couch, every corner of my house was damaged with red marks from the tubes they had used and there was an oil stain on my drive way from their truck. on top of all this damage they sent over the pictures of the duct cleaning and the before and after looked no different, mind you this is a service I paid 800$ for. After talking to the manager Grant he informed me that all he could do is give me a 300$ gift card and come reclean the air ducts, which is not suitable because first because I am about to give birth and second I do not want these people in my house destroying more things, so I asked for a full refund of the service, which is the least they can do for all the damages done to the house. Grant said I would have to talk to someone above him bc he is not able to give refunds but Mabye the person above him could. This is where I spoke to the rudest person I have ever encounter in costumer service.. her name is KAITLYN . She was instantly rude from the first phone call she kept interrupting and not hearing what I had to say, mind you was not sympathetic she was talking to a pregnant woman that is giving birth in a week. She kept saying I denied the service for them to come back and reclean the vent.. which yea I'm gonna deny the service when last time they came and destroyed my house and she would not give us a refund. They did sent Grant who was the manger out to come clean the wall stains but we have flat paint so the walls still look stained and need a coat of painting which he agreed about it with my husband and also agreed that the service was not done correctly and the walls definitely needed painting. 2 days after Grant left KAITLYN called back with her attitude from the start and I asked her to just call my husbands phone because again I'm 9 months pregnant and should not be dealing with this stress...she didn't care that I told her this, she continued to tell me there is nothing she can do bc I denied their re-service for the ducts and she can give me 150$ gift card to clean the couches...what a joke...I don't know how a person like this can work in costumer service where she is putting people in distress. again I told her multiple times that I was pregnant and shouldn't be dealing with this and she seemed to enjoy continuing to make me more mad. I called on Saturday and was able to get an appointment on Monday morning. Before arriving, I received a call that they were on their way. They were friendly and professional. Stanley Steemer came to our apartment this past week. I was somewhat disappointed after the fact when I realize that other carpet cleaning businesses were much cheaper. On the other side of it, the technicians who performed the job were friendly. I felt that the job done was good once the technicians got their equipment working, which took a few hours, but a job that should have taken an hour or two took almost 3.5 hours. I scheduled an appointment with Stanley Steamer despite previous experience with other locations. They came over and I explained that we had a spill of water on the carpet and it had a mildew smell (hence why we wanted to have them come out to clean out carpet). The guys literally walked in, heard my story, and said, "That's not mildew, that's mold." ... So without actually taking a look at the area, they literally just made some outlandish comment and walked out. They said they wouldn't clean the carpets until I get the mold taken care of. The spill was literally a glass of water. There wasn't a flood. The water did not evaporate quick enough and soaked into the carpet. I had the carpet installer come over (he's a family friend) and smell. He didn't smell any kind of mold in our house (he said there was a lot of moisture in the air and recommended a dehumidifier which worked like a charm). Basically, your guys didn't want to THEIR JOBS and freaked out a mom of a 1 year old to get out of working. What a waste of time and I'm glad we didn't take their advice and pulled the carpet. Originally, when I had my carpet cleaned by Stanley Steemer in August 2015, I thought they did an ok job. I had just moved into my new house and there were various stains on the carpet that the old owners left. The technicians said that they couldn't remove the stains. They didn't really give me a reason and told me they were permanent. I didn't think much of it then because I didn't know any better. Fast forward to now, I decided to try and get the stains out myself (with a much less powerful machine​, mind you) and had no problem... So what that tells me is that they were just lazy. The upsell was pretty ridiculous as well, so be prepared for that. read more

I have used Stanley Steemer in the past and was happy with the results, but this year is an entirely different story. The young man came out and did a good job cleaning, but he wanted me to buy a "guarantee" and unfortunately did not do a good job explaining what that was. I told him I was 78 so he had to explain it better. He didn't give me anything to read about it, but I signed the agreement. He told me what the total would be, but when he we was leaving I saw the receipt on my phone. I went outside and told him I did not want the "guarantee" and he told me to call the main office. I did that immediately, but I had to leave a voicemail. Now, here I am over 2 weeks later and 8 phone calls to their office and still have not received a call from anyone. Today I told them I did not want to talk to that manager because she for some reason refuses to call me back. So she tried two other managers, but of course no one answers their phones, so she left a voicemail with a different manager and here I am again waiting for a response. I will never do business with them again. They need to fire their manager Cassandra (Cassie) for being so irresponsible. read more

As of 6/17/22 my father has heard nothing from Kevin Skinner nor been reimbursed for damages. My father's phone number is (216) 524-5119. Either you're going to stand behind your product or not. Separately, I've already sent a complaint to the NADCA and they contacted me the next day saying that they would refer the complaint to their standing committee and render a judgment on the company's air duct certification. The original complaint is below. I'm writing on behalf of my 85-year old father who hired Stanley Steemer, 4621 Hinckley Industrial Parkway, Cleveland, Ohio, 44104 (Air Duct Manager, Kevin Skinner) on 5/10/22 to clean his home's air ducts. Job Invoice #12566358. While the ducts were cleaned, the worker who drilled 18 vent holes failed to use a suction boot to catch the metal shavings as prescribed by National Air Duct Cleaning Association (NADCA) standards, thereby leaving piles of sharp metal shavings throughout the basement. These tiny shavings were dangerous to handle and it took my father five hours to clean them up. Effectively the worker left the job site filthy and dangerous. Meanwhile, the worker, somewhere in the course of the job, left tears/holes in two basement stair treads and one tear in the basement stairway landing linoleum. This linoleum had only been installed a year ago and was practically brand new. My father contacted Kevin Skinner multiple times and was assured each time that a $250 payment would be mailed to cover the linoleum damages. No payment ever materialized. Similarly, a call to Stanley Steemer corporate HQ (Molly) in Dublin, Ohio also generated the same false assurance that the payment for damages would be mailed. None was ever received. Bottom line: Stanley Steemer lied repeatedly and had no intention of paying for their damages. Suggest customers steer well clear of this Stanley Steemer franchise. I called and they sent another guy out sprayed the 2 areas and now it looks worse then before the cleaning.. Had this company come out to the place I work for. I was not here when they "allegedly" cleaned 3 rooms. I came in the next morning. And couldn't tell that they had been here, other than a few benches moved. Dark spots on the carpet remained, and they also damaged a door, with no mention of it. If a carpet has been cleaned, you would be able to smell the freshly cleaned carpet. I got down on my hands and knees to smell nothing but dirt. I feel like they just vacuumed and that was it. GM called for them to come back out. Regardless of the outcome of their return visit, I would strongly suggest renting a cleaner from Home Depot and doing it yourself (if your able). I scheduled an appointment with them to have my carpet and living room furniture cleaned. I was very clear in my ask and instructions that I lived in a condo which was an apartment like setting. I was given a time for between 9:30 and 1. I made arrangements for my dog and myself to be gone so they would not be disturbed. I got a call 11:15 they were 15 minutes away. Then at 11:36 I got a call that they did not bring a portable unit so it would now be 1P. At 1:28 I called the gentleman who told me 1p and he said oh, I meant to tell you between 1 and 3:30, but I'll see where they are and call u right back (I am still waiting) Then at 1:41 I called the main office who said they would probably not be around until 4 at which point we had to cancel. He did not do anything to try and make amends nor apologize for their inefficiency. My husband was not happy and we wasted a whole day for naught. If I were the business owner, I would have been making more of an effort not to loose a customer. Also, this makes me sad, because I like to write good reviews. read more

I will never use Stanley Steemer Again. Stanley Steemer (Cleveland area) came to clean my carpet on January 21, 2020, as they have done for the past 20 to 30 years, in this home and past homes. When Brandon and Brian arrived, I showed them the areas to be cleaned, explaining that the loft area carpet was stained and I did not expect perfection. In preparation I had moved the furniture, and also explained that I did not want them to move any other furniture; I wanted them to clean the exposed area only. Both employees were working on this area together. Unfortunately my cat was under one of the pieces of furniture that I had asked NOT TO BE MOVED. They must have frightened her and she jumped from the loft which is about a 12 foot height. The cat sustained a very serious injury, however neither associate came to tell me that she was hurt. They DID however try to " up sell" me a duct inspection as well as wood floor cleaning. REGARDING THE CAT, ALL THEY SAID WAS "We scared your cat". No mention was made of her jumping and injuring herself. They also explained that they HAD moved the furniture to clean the entire space, to do me a favor. After they left, somehow, my cat managed to come downstairs where I was sitting and collapsed, in excruciating pain. The jump had resulted in a deranged stifle, (broken knee) and every ligament in her leg being torn. (ACL, meniscus, CrCL). After trips to 4 veterinarians in 2 days for evaluation, it was determined that the only option was surgery. One day later she had surgery to stabilize her knee, remove all ligaments, tendons and replace them with sutures. We are facing at least 12 weeks of recovery and rehab so she can walk, as well as approximately $5,000 in bills. I fully understand that this was an accident, and that things happen, however, THE ASSOCIATES WERE TOLD NOT TO MOVE ANY FURNITURE, NO ONE TOLD ME THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED, AND THE CORPORATE OFFICE WAS GENERALLY UNCONCERNED when I contacted them to report the incident. When questioned by the corporate office, I was informed that the 2 associates claimed to not have seen the accident, however when questioned further they did tell corporate that they "checked on the cat under the bed and she was fine". Not sure why they looked under the bed when they claimed to not have known of the incident. They were NOT cleaning any carpet in the bedroom area. The two employees were negligent, the corporate office and management was less than empathetic, accepted no responsibility for the actions of their employees, and suggested the cat had injured herself in another way. The cat was fine before they came in contact with her. Needless to say, I will NEVER use Stanley Steemer again and I will tell this story over and over so no one else has to experience something like this. read more

To be fair, my in-home carpet cleaning was fine. The issue has become the whereabouts of my dining room area rug that the service person took with him to be cleaned. He told me it would take two weeks. It's going on a month and not only do I not have my area rug back, I can't get a hold of anyone who can tell me where the rug is. I'm told a manager will call me back but guess what? No call back. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service and that some manager is the only person who can tell me where my rug is. Horrible business ethics on technicians. Had made an appointment for my two bedrooms and two area rugs to get cleaned. Went over the details over phone my their call center receptionist. She stated that their was a special of $99.00 for two rooms and that It was perfect for my needs and that the other carpets where to be $42.00 extra. I also mentioned that I live on the second floor on my condo and it has an elivator. She said that it wasn't a problem and they would be at my home between 3-6pm. Day off my appointment I get a call at 3:40pm stating a "crew" was enroute. Upon arrival I greeted the young men and wasn't given a business card nor did they wear shoe covers or take their shoes off. They then randomly split up into different rooms and met up together with wisepering and more wispering(red flag). To say the least I wasn't comfortable with them after that. One guy then makes a statement that it's going to cost $75.00 before they even start anything due to they would have to use a portable carpet cleaner and it's a second floor condo unit. And I'm looking minimum at $269.00 with all the extras "red flag." At this point I told them that price is not what was agreed on and they both started talking sideways on their receptionist stating she has no idea what she is talking about and that she is new and knows nothing about nothing. WOW!! Talk about disappointed in a company that is one, represented so poorly by untrained young men, two, have abrasive techniques on sales and service along with their soft skills, three, have such lack of respect of a fellow employee. Little to say i asked them to leave and have a manager call me. Also, note that they didn't attempt to leave me a qoute or any numbers to do what they where presenting/proposing to me. "LAST RED FLAG" Conclusion, I've been in the technical service industry for 15 years and I see these type guys come around more than I'd like to admitt. I received a coupon in the mail for $ 39 per room with a minimum of three room. I went on line and started to schedule an appointment. When I went to put in the code that was on the coupon, it would not accept it. The regular cost of cleaning 3 rooms came to over $150. Using the coupon would have saved me about $30. I then called the 800 number and was told that the coupon was not valid even though I was with in the time period. I was told to just schedule the appointment and maybe the technician would honor it when he came out. Maybe? Why do they send out a coupon that can not be used? I will use a different cleaner. The areas that the Stanley Steemer team cleaned look very nice. Only problem is that they did the minimum when it came to moving furniture and cleaning underneath. After 3 times having this company, I really have to advise staying right with them to be sure they actually clean the whole room(s). This was my first time using Stanley Steamer and they were highly recommended by friends so I decided to give them a try. I was able to schedule an appointment the day before which was great since I had already taken the day off. The online ordering was quick and easy. I was quoted $160.92 for 3 rooms and 1 staircase. You don't even have to give them room sizes like everyone else. The cleaners (Techs) were very polite and professional. What really impressed me was how much time they took to clean my carpeting. They did not rush through and went over any spots that were difficult to remove. They were pretty good salesman too - not pushy but though. I ended up spending quite a bit more for additional services that made sense at the time - extra scotch guard and deorderize plus a nice outdoor floor mat that has a lifetime warranty. Not reliable. Ray, the General Manager is unprofessional. Tech's show up late and unprepared -- NO GAS TO RUN THE EQUIPMENT, so they pack every thing up and leave, get gas, unpack equipment again and try to finish work. They tie you up for an entire day. The owner won't return phone calls and the GM screens complaints. They take your money just fine! DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. Shop around!! read more

I had my whole house carpeting cleaned (3000 square feet) plus a finished basement fully carpeted. The cleaning was pretty good, but there were some spots in the basement carpeting that didn't come out. I was a bit disappointed in that. Plus, the leg of my pool table was chipped and the piece of wood placed on top. It would have been nice if I would have been told. Lastly, the whole house cleaning took only an hour and a half. Perhaps if more time was spent the spots would have been removed. read more

I always call on Stanley Steemer to do our cleaning. However the last time they were here, 5/27/2015, they did not complete the job. A spot on the bedroom carpet was not removed and the chest of drawers was not moved to clean under it. I had moved the dresser and bed to vacuum the room and they were put back after the cleaning but, the chest was not moved for my vacuuming or the steam cleaning. James T. Dickson read more
