Stanley and Rose are super nice people. I was so happy I got to go and buy my lamp before the shop closes in a month. If you tell them what you want and your budget, they will point you to something or tell you they don't have anything so you don't waste your time. Or in my case, Rose actually brought several lamps out from the back that were not on display, and spend 30 minutes helping me find a matching lamp shade. The man who runs this shop is extremely difficult to deal with, beware. Says he will make an appointment for you but then actually refuses to do so when you attempt, forcing you to drive across town at rush hour(3-6pm) when they are sometimes open. Other days you go by there during their "business hours" and they just aren't there. I brought three lamps to this guy for repair. He didn't tell me he was cash only, although I spoke to him and his wife on the phone many times before coming. I didn't have cash or my debit card on me The price he quoted me was $525 for three lamps, I said let's just do two then and the new quote was $490 + tax!!! I actually never picked them up because I just can't deal with this humanoid again. Like I just can't even... Their google listing/reviews recently disappeared for some reason, lol. read more

I stopped in here while waiting for Oven Grinder Pizza across the street and boy am I glad I did!! Rosemary, the owner, is so knowledgeable and they have some really great pieces. For years and years and years I've always admired the outside of this store for its charm and beautiful fixtures. This place lights up the already historical essence of clark street. One day I was waiting for Oven Grinders to open and decided to walk in. It also so happens that I was decorating a store front of my own and didn't want the typical knock of vintage chandeliers. I wanted the real deal. When walking into this place I just knew I was going to find something. Every piece has a story in this place and you can tell that these light fixtures have been refurbished and well taken care of by the owners. I told Rose what I was looking for and she found the perfect fixture for me. Then her husband Ken wrapped it up properly, helped me get it in my truck safely...and sent me on my way. He even went out of his way to calm down the Pharmacy guy while I loaded up the truck in front Pharmacy guys place. Everyday I see it light up, I appreciate so much more how beautiful it is. so we bought two chandaliers from a detroit church, trust me these babies are huge. Stanley galleries came over removed large chunks of our ceiling and installed industrial antiques in our condo through the upstairs floor Joyce. Sure they took a little extra time but went above and beyond all expectations my ceilings are 22 feet in our great room!!! after all of this they came back and under charged us to put up a ceiling doughnut around the new stanley supplied finials. They also trim chipped Crystal glasses!!!!. This guy, should have a wand because he truly is a magician! He hand painted and rewired our Ginormus church chandeliers to showroom condition! Friendly, personable, hard working, and going above and beyond what was promised and asked: its a real pleasure to support this local business!!! Very expensive but what in Lincoln Park isn't. Nice people and decent service but $$$$.

You could not meet any two nicer people than the owners, Kenneth and Rosemary Stanley. I called Rosemary to describe the problems with my 2 HEAVY lamps as I didn't want to haul them to the store if they couldn't fix them. Imagine my surprise when Rosemary suggested they come to my home to fix the lamps. Who makes house calls anymore?? The lamps were fixed quickly and I was happy to pay their hourly rate of $100 to avoid any mishaps that might have occurred in transporting the lamps. I hope this review will encourage people to visit their store and use their repair service . . I certainly will! read more

They restored a chandelier for us, and it was worth the wait- the moment we picked it up I could see the extra care and attention that was put into it. When it wouldn't fit into my car, they delivered it for me that night. They just went out of their way to help me and they are such warm, friendly, and knowledgable people. Passing Stanley Galleries is the rose of my daily commute. The store is beautiful and charming from the exterior so I decided to stop in the other weekend. In addition to a very wide variety of lamps and light fixtures, they also have an impressive assortment of stemware. The owner could not have been friendlier or more knowledgeable and showed me several sets of glasses. I ended up purchasing four champagne glasses for what I thought was a very reasonable price. I stop in here occasionally to admire the fixtures and assorted serving pieces and stemware, but also to hear what the charming owner has to say about whatever chandeliers are new or interesting-- she is so amiable and knowledgeable, and always seems to pleased to share the history of her wares. The owners are a lovely older couple that are really passionate about what they do. Their wealth of experience really shows in the quality of the lighting fixtures that they restore and / or repair. If you have an unusual project that needs tending to, it's worth the trip to get their professional opinion!
