Everyone we interacted with was so kind, and Meg in particular was wonderful. She was thoughtful, collaborative, responsive, and incredibly easy to work with. No matter how small the question was, she took the time to offer guidance and reassurance. We held both our ceremony and reception indoors, and the space felt cozy and magical. The stone fireplace -- almost mythical in appearance -- with a glowing fire created the most spectacular atmosphere. The building itself is endlessly enchanting; every corner feels like a discovery. Surrounding the venue, the grounds are beautifully inviting -- the edge of the lake, the tall trees, and expansive views create space for quiet moments and truly stunning photographs. Our guests were enchanted by Valhalla -- those who had visited before shared how meaningful it felt to return, and those experiencing it for the first time expressed a desire to come back. Valhalla offers something rare: a venue that already holds so much character on its own, yet welcomes personal touches effortlessly. It allowed us to create a wedding that felt entirely ours. It holds a very special place in our hearts, and we're so appreciative of the wonderful experience we had.

There was ample space so everyone had a bed and it was spread out enough so the guys could hang out down in the pool room while getting ready and the gals could get ready upstairs. The view at the home is absolutely breathtaking and the hot tub perfectly overlooks the lake and mountains. All of the stunning views and scenery gave for some pretty epic and gorgeous photos to capture our big day. Josh and Blue Sky Events worked together to make everything run seamlessly the day of our wedding; even when the heater broke on the tent during the rehearsal dinner and the caterer's generator died before our food could be made the day of the wedding. Josh was there doing everything in his power to make things work and make our day great. He was clear on what rules needed to be minded and checked in with us throughout the weekend to make sure we had what we needed. He was always making sure everyone was having a good time and was a great person to hang out with too. Most wedding venues in Lake Tahoe make you use their caterers, don't let you do unique things like bring a late night munchie food truck or anything outside of their own packages and for some people that's great but for us, we wanted flexibility and Fjeldheim allowed that for us so we could have a day that was perfectly us.

Wow, wow, WOW! Drop dead gorgeous! That is exactly how I would describe this lovely property…read more Known as one of the top 10 venues and event spaces in South Lake Tahoe, this place has EVERYTHING you could imagine. If you're looking to spend a lovely couple of days in Lake Tahoe and need a place to stay, this is the place for you! Talk about paradise; look no further. Tahoe Mountain Home is a 9,000 square foot private vacation home that can house 30+ people easily. Sitting high above the lake, this property offers awesome views overlooking the lake. I recently came over the weekend with a group of friends and was able to discover all that this property has to offer. The house offered over eight bedrooms and sleeping for the entire guest, all the rooms come with their own name; honestly, I felt like I was in a mansion! My mouth dropped as I drove up the one-way hill to get to the house, the place is HUGE! There were different access ways to the entrance, a fabulous hot tub in the back of the house that fits 4-5 people comfortably and a big parking lot that fits over 10 cars easily. This place is exceptional! The house is located 5-10 minutes from all of the fun entertainment including the casinos, restaurants, and bars and lounges. We took Uber every night and didn't have an issue at all. Now, on to the BEST part, it was SNOWING the WHOLE.WEEKEND. I have yet to experience snow before, so this was not only fun for me but exciting! Now, driving in the snow was not exciting at all, trust me, but playing in it was FUN. On the last night of our stay, we received emails and news reports that there was a blizzard coming and that we may be snowed in. Okay, I became scared once I received the news, but that quickly changed when we had the housing manager come over. Josh is the 'housing manager' and the night I became very anxious about the snowstorm, he came over with his lovely dog and informed our group that we were going to be Okay. He discussed the weather and even asked all of us for our car keys while he plowed the driveway so we can leave much easier to leave for the next-day departure. Can you believe that he moved all 10 cars and plowed the driveway all by himself? OMG, bless his heart! After Josh left, my group advised me that Josh is a wonderful guy that comes throughout our visit to check in with us. I was so touched by the personal touch. This property, as well as Josh, deserves MORE than 5 stars! Yelp, we really have to work on expanding the 5 stars (emoji: smiles). I definitely would recommend staying at this property. I look forward to my next stay. Thank you, Josh, for your amazing hospitality during our stay!

No noise curfew means it's the one place you can truly have a late-night party 3. They have awesome people with very few rules (no fires, respect max # campers allowed) - other than that, they let you manifest your dream! 4. Massive granite hottub and swimming lake are amazing 5. You can have people camp or glamp on site (we hired their tents and supplemented with Anywhere Outpost - wonderful!) 6. They have some infrastructure but you can bring in your own booze, rentals, catering, etc. - so you can curate your dream wedding (for food hire Blend or Camber Events! for drinks hire Pizen! for wedding planner hire Jenn Robirds Events!) 7. It's absolutely stunning. The natural granite, pines, and beautiful flowers everywhere. It's amazing!! You can have any kind of wedding here - a DIY small wedding, big elevated elegant wedding (like we did), something simple, something over-the-top. It's all possible!

June 27, 2023: Tuesday, I attended a wedding here; it's FIFTEEN-MILES inside rough, rugged, BLM…read moreLAND terrain! It took almost ONE HOUR from leaving Highway 88 in order, arriving at The Hideout Annex where I attended the wedding venue! Will you please carefully study my photos and will you please notice the GARMIN GPS time stamp for the photos, too? This is no exaggeration . . . Seriously--The Hideout is in the middle of CA BLM TERRITORY, i.e., WILDERNESS REGION! My photos will make you pause in utter silence due to the fact the entire area is just so utterly remote. More importantly, make sure you do NOT drive a vehicle with a low, wheel base clearance such as a sports car or a sedan; for your safety, drive an all-wheel drive SUV, dually truck, i.e. any 4-Wheel Drive vehicle is best. In addition, this entire region's location is extreme wilderness equating, survival terrain. Never come here ill-prepared despite, weddings venues are conducted here, i.e., cold temperatures shifts drop erratically here--hot around 75° F during the day, temperatures drop to 49°F around 6:30 PM--please bring a down jacket, warm pants, socks, boots, hat, gloves, down sleeping bag/blankets, pillow, medicines, a change of clothes, toiletries, fire starters, wood, food, H2O: Everything you'd think bringing on a wilderness camping trip-PACK INSIDE YOUR VEHICLE especially, if you get too inebriated to drive, you might as well sleep off your alcohol party binge without freezing, eh? Plus, whatever supplies you bring in, you must consciously pack out - - - being mindful "wild things" live everywhere around The Hideout . . . So NEVER keep food or toiletries inside your vehicle--because you're just asking for a "wild thing" to cause dangerous drama in your life when you're WAAAAY too inebriated dealing with the dangerous toothy thang, i.e., you just won't survive THAT attack! A lot of parents I noticed were irresponsibly allowing their children running loose, frolicking through the fields/meadows unattended, and unsupervised while attending the wedding at The Hideout: It's most important not allowing children running freely, parents must maintain possessing absolutely heightened, cognitive awareness of sights and sounds 24/7, follow rules such as putting food in bear containers, keeping bear spray in possession 24/7, making sure children don't drop food anywhere, keeping children sticking by their sides without fail, and never allow children run freely through the meadows where rattlesnakes and large animals are simply camouflaged, unnoticeable, and undetected. Sadly, the four restrooms are too far away from The Hideout Annex which is across a huge field causing the children striking out on their own accord--independently scurrying reaching the restrooms in time without having "an accident" where unfortunately, their parents lose their watchful eyes on their children! Therefore, I don't recommend children under ten-years old should attend wedding venues at The Hideout because The Hideout's wedding location is just too remote . . . The Hideout is a gorgeous, wedding venue; however, I just wouldn't recommend young children accompany their parents here. There are too many possibilities for young children being injured or wind up missing due to the area being too vast and too remote; I personally just want immediately removing the odd equation and eliminating the happenstance beforehand-period. I would only consider The Hideout as an adult wedding venue worth attending; however, I definitely would refrain having the children in tow, i.e., hire an overnight babysitter/Nanny for attending a wedding at The Hideout.

I, the bride, actually had a medical emergency in the middle of the reception and the staff handled everything so well! It was only the second venue we looked at and the second we got up there, we knew it was THE PLACE! We couldn't be happier with how everything worked out. First off- THE VIEW! It is beautiful! Our sunset was incredible that night and I cannot wait to get our pictures back. There's a spot below the lodge for a perfect sunset shot. It rained around 3:30pm day of our wedding (thunder & lightning) so the staff started to move our dance floor inside from the deck and started packing up the ceremony chairs. Then 20 minutes later, the rain cleared and everything was brought back outside. The ceremony and dancing stayed outside! We took our tour Memorial Day weekend 2016 - the first weekend of the year they open for weddings. They were setting up for a wedding so it was nice to see some of the set up. We went up for the food tasting in September 2016 and it was really neat. They invite all the couples for the next year to come up and food taste together. They set up the tables with different linen colors and napkin folding styles as well as glassware lay outs to let you see how everything looks. And then you can decide on what you like. They make their most popular dishes for the couples to try (I believe you can make a request off their list if there's something you specifically want to try). For our wedding we had a buffet and chose the prime rib and chicken Piccata. They were delicious!!! Another big hit was the bacon wrapped scallops and ahi tuna wonton crisp appetizers! Highly recommend. We had the kegs of beer and brought up all of our own wine and champagne (which they let us bring up the night before). We also last minute added the cash bar which was a good idea! (We paid for beer/wine and if our guests wanted liquor, they had the option to pay for it). The tram ride up is fun and quick. The outdoor ceremony area is beautiful with the lake in the background. They have an arch you can use but we brought up one my father in law built us. (They let us bring it up the night before and put it together during our rehearsal walk through and then they actually brought it out and put into place for us on our wedding day). I mainly corresponded with Libby but both her and Lizzy were so helpful and very quick to respond. They answered all my questions and took care of my requests. They really helped make the night run smoothly. All the other staff was great too! I could go on and on about how amazing this venue is! If you're thinking of getting married in Tahoe then I highly recommend the Lakeview Lodge at Heavenly. You get the best of everything - the top of the mountain and a gorgeous lake view back drop!

We had our wedding this last October. We stumbled across this place by chance when looking at…read moreother venues in the area. We feel in love with the view from the terrace which is where we had our ceremony and reception. We were impressed by the front reception staff immediately and booked our wedding about one year in advance. We met with Chelsea our on site Event Sales Manager, and things started off good. But we shortly there after felt like we were a nuisance by asking just a few questions, and we are low maintenance. You should plan on guests staying in other hotels as the wedding party booking process is a PIA, or perhaps this was just the case with our Event Manager, any questions took weeks or more to get a response. On top of that we reviewed pricing one year in advance at what we assumed was our guests budget, but we did not realize that the cost of a room about doubles with all their hidden fees. When we asked for a few minutes to meet and review some details of the site to figure out how and where we had access, and tried to coordinate it with a Sunday Wedding Open House, we were told that was her day off. I asked if she was going to the Open House which she said she was, everything made us feel unappreciated. We literally had 10 minutes of Q&A, which mostly revolved around where things were, what we had access to, so we could start planning decor, and things of that nature. We requested a 30 day prior meeting on site, with our wedding coordinator and Event Sales manager, as we want to review all last details and do a food sampling. Chelsea failed to respondto us or to our Coordinator, nor did she show up. Our coordinator had to call her manager to see what was going on, finally got her cell phone, she said she was working from home that day. We literally had no phone calls from our Event Sales Manager for the final 3 months. Once they have your money and commitment they no longer appreciate you or want to put any energy into you. Our Event Sales Coordinator ended up going to her high school reunion the weekend of our wedding, which would be fine if she informed us and told us an alternate contact should any issues arise, but it was a no call no show. Luckily our wedding coordinator was amazing, and had done many weddings at this site. They did REQUIRE a tip in advance of 20%. I asked than about if a tip jar would be placed at the bar and was told no that it would not. When we and the wedding party got down to the reception well after everyone else already there we found that there was a tip jar where they were asking all guest for more tips!! With no point of contact on site, we did nothing during the wedding as we wanted to focus on our day and deal with issues afterwards. After the wedding we spoke with her manager Keeley, told her of the main shortcomings during the process, in which she admitted things did not go as they should. When I asked for a few hundred dollars back for the double tipping I was told no way. She spoke with corporate and GM and they did not care, once they have you money. All the other people onsite were great. But if you go here, do not pay final amount until after the wedding. Challenge the up front tips, and be prepared that after you give them money they no longer care about making your day special. The Landing refused to respond to a complaint from the Better Business Bureau.
