Came here on a Friday morning in July. Got here shortly before 8am and we were the first car to arrive. By 8:30am there were at least a few others who had joined us. It does get crowded. By 9am it was warm enough (70's) to enjoy the beach in just our swimsuits (we had some light fleece jackets on when we arrived in the morning). I recommend wetsuits for the kiddos. The water is tolerable but with wetsuits your kiddos will definitely enjoy it more (at least if the day is in the 70's like it was for us). The sand can be a little rough on the feet and I wish the water didn't get so deep so fast for our littles (we have toddlers) but overall we were very happy. They also have bathrooms and there's a ramp you can use to easily get your wagon down to the beach. Note: the sand gets hot and because it's larger grains it can be a little rough on the feet (especially for those with tender feet!), but at least it seems to brush off the beach blankets easier than fine sand does. Our 1 year old and 3 year old had a blast. We were there basically from 8am to 11am (we had snacks and various beach and bath toys with us), grabbed a bite to eat at California Burger (my favorite burger place just about 15 minutes away on the California side), and and the kids quickly fell asleep on the car ride home. read more

Great beach! You have to go down a bill hill to get down but you can basically drive any car. I believe parking is about $10 bucks. It gets VERY busy here during summer so definitely get here early! There is lots of spots to sit on the beach tho and it's a beautiful spot. There's boats and kayaking around here even with a boat ramp. They also have rentals too! It is a good beach....very close to where we stay in South Lake Tahoe. We got there early, and did pay for parking, after all, we move in for the day, and don't want to carry our stuff from the road. It was clean, and fun for the kids. For me the boats were a bit encroaching, and the water was a bit to deep too fast (water doesn't warm up much here). COLD WATER, HOT BEACH The sand wasn't the only thing smokin' hot at this beach on Lake Tahoe. There were some good looking men and women walking around! Awww, yes. How I do love summer! Tan bodies wrapped in tiny bikinis. Muscles in action with beach volleyball. Yes, there was lots to look at! The timeshare resort gave us parking passes for the beach. Parking was otherwise $8 and there wasn't a ton available when we arrived. Our carpool (husband was driving) found a spot that we mostly wedged into. We ran back to the car not long after to move it to the very furthest spot in the lot, which happened to be right where we ultimately parked our towels. There are BBQs on the beach, and tables with shade coverings. There are clean restroom facilities and a place to eat. And a TON of people! There weren't a lot of big, open spaces for the large group we were expecting. We went to sit in front of H2O Sports (they rent the kayaks and paddleboards), and I decided to ask a girl working if this was an okay spot. After settling in, a guy politely told us we couldn't be there. I said I had cleared it with the girl working and she lied to my face and said she "would never say something like that". Her words in fact had been that we can sit there but we should expect "a lot of food traffic". The spot at the end of the beach ended up being a nicer and larger one so it all worked out. Make sure to bring some sunscreen, but there are lots of trees just off the beach so shade can be found even if you don't arrive early enough to get a seat at a table. Zephyr Cove is a great spot in Tahoe, but it was definitely crowded. If you're staying at a hotel, be sure to ask about parking vouchers. We know the Blue Jay Lodge (near Harrah's/Harvey's) gives out beach passes. It's likely you can get in to a beach for free, or at least get your parking comped. read more

Walked here on the new hiking/bike trail from lakeside inn. Rum runners in the beach but even better Painkillers--Pineapple juice coconut rums all frozen like the rum runner. I love this beach. You have to pay for parking if you don't walk but it is a lovely sandy beach with facilities available such as bar, snack bar, boat and ski-do rentals. read more

Been coming here for decades, love the improvements over the years. Peddle boats could use some TLC as the seat backs are iffy when an adult is in them. Every employee I've interacted with has always had a smile on their face and helpful. The food is delicious and generously portioned. See you next summer! read more

This place was my favorite spot. Now there's lots of Geese and feathers. Trying to relax in beach smells like shit now. Not a comfortable relaxing situation anymore. The geese will get in your stuff and stink everything up. We were surrounded be 13 of them. I don't want to even walk on the sand before it was hot sand or sticks to think about now it's all the shit going to the water. Great beach for families! We arrived to a full parking lot but were directed to another area reserved for excess parking. There was a shuttle available at this location that took us down the hill directly to the beach. This was so convenient especially with our little ones and all our beach supplies. We were able to rent an umbrella and quickly find a perfect spot to settle down for the day. We were also given a flag to alert the wait staff when we needed food/drink service. How perfect is that? bathrooms were also nearby and very clean. All around great location for relaxing day in the sun! Def recommend! read more

This is literally the worst customer service place I have ever been to. We were standing in line waiting to rent jet skis for us and our friends, we proceed to ask one of the employees if they took these vouchers we were given a while back. Another employee who states his name was Ali interrupted us and very rudely replies "we don't know what that is what's that?" I reply ok I guess you don't take them then. He very rudely says "nope I guess not" and walks off. Then proceeds to come back and boast to his employee how great customer service he has right in front of us. In the mean time another customer asks where something is and he points off to the water "over there". When we try to tell the manager he just laughs at us and says "oh sorry" the people in front of us were just as stunned as we were by what just happened. They not only lost our business but our future business, and I'll be sure to tell everyone not to come here. I've never had this terrible of customer service in my life. Cocky teenagers who have no respect for anyone. Wish. Could give this place negative stars. read more

Great location, wonderful views, good food with an eclectic menu. The conch fritters are a delicious appetizer. Outdoor dining on the patio is nice with a large bar and beautiful views. Would give them another star if they had wait staff and didn't use disposable plates and utensils on the patio. As it is set up you have to order at the window. They do deliver the food. Awful- Awful- Awful! I can't believe that they literally have zero limits to how many people can use the beach at the same time. We were tipped off to get there early for a good spot- so at 8:30 we were first in line. Surprisingly, we asked and they allowed a 10x10 canopy so we set it up about 6 ft from the water. Within minutes we were surrounded on all four sides! Including between the water and us. Loud music- people with zero boundary respect literally leaning into our area. I put up a big parachute I brought to discourage this. They say no dogs- but they don't enforce that rule. Be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes to use the funky, icky bathroom. I decided to get a drink ( or 3) at the bar. The bartender seemed to resent me and literally served everyone before me and that included several younger women in bikinis. I asked them if they'd order for me. I was sitting on a barstool and this wasn't an issue of a line or layers of people. At that point he said he serves in a counter clockwise circle around the bar, regardless of what order. I order a double - $14. I don't think it was a double . But I dared not say anything. He was really a jerk. All in all- the worst beach experience ever. read more

We just moved here a little over a year ago and found this wonderful place that we access by boat. The food is incredible, service always excellent and of course, the painkiller drinks are delicious. 3.5- A really nice, clean beach! We came yesterday (Sunday in July) and it wasn't too packed. They do charge $10 to park and the road to get down to it is narrow and winding. They have rental shop where we rented paddle boards ($30 each for 1 hour). They also have a cute bar and restaurant. All the beaches next door are private so be aware of that. read more

$8 fee gets you into this absolutely amazing beach for the whole day. You have to drive down a little hill through a lot of trees, so it feels much more secluded than the other beaches we were at the day before (El Dorado & Zephyr Cove). We had decided to rent a 2 person kayak, and they were running a special where 2hr cost $48, so we did that. The guy helping us get set up could've been a bit more instructive since it was our first time kayaking and there wasn't anyone else there yet, but we managed to figure it out ourselves. Once out on the water though, we had a wonderful time. The water is perfectly clear, the shores of the cove are lined with pine trees, and directly opposite is a beautiful line of mountains. There weren't many boaters out yet when we were there, so it was very peaceful and private. The beach itself is also pretty good. There are a lot of boats moored right near the beach which is kind of inconvenient if you want to go swimming or take pictures. But the sand is smooth and the water is clean, which is more than can be said for some other beaches in the area. There are clean bathrooms in the parking lot, as well as a restaurant with open air seating facing the water. Will definitely come back here next time we're in Tahoe for the summer. read more

What a beautiful clean beach. We didn't even know it was there. We have been to Lake Tahoe several times and frequenting beach more so these days. We had staying at the Lake Tahoe Resort (formerly Embassy Suites). They gave us a pass for entrance and parking for as many days as we stayed with them. We were pleasantly surprised to find a huge beach with all the activities one would want, a cool Rum bar and even an area to reserve for private parties or weddings & receptions. read more

Great beach. Went there on Saturday about 1pm but the lot was full. We later found out the parking lot holds 350 cars and you need to get there before noon. We headed back to the hotel which was 6 minutes away and took Uber. This actually worked out good because we able to enjoy more of the Rum Runners they serve at their beach bar. Absolutely amazing time riding around on the seadoo spark jet skis which go 35-45 mph depending on which ski you get. It was the slow season, we were the first customers for jet skis of the day so they let it slide that we ran long on our rental.
