Stand and Clap was great to work with and Donald was very professional and talented! When it came to our wedding, we knew that lighting was going to a big part of it. We knew we wanted lighting to help set the mood at various points in the night and it needed to all work seamlessly in a large space with multiple rooms. When we met with Donald from Stand and Clap we felt confident that he could make that happen. He made it appear easy but we know he spent a lot of effort in making it happen! The groom himself is an engineer and he was quite impressed with Don's set up! We loved our lights on the big day. The string lights across the dance floor were so dreamy and the uplighting was so impactful. The uplighting was romantic during dinner and colorful during dancing. We went from classy dinner to party mode seamlessly! We enjoyed working with Don so much and would recommend Stand and Clap to any couple getting married. read more

DJ Don is a MUST have if you are looking for a DJ for your event. He puts his heart into his job, and is much more than just a DJ. For my wedding, he truly got to know me as a person, and he got to know what my wedding was going to be like. He was always available to meet, and made sure to check out the spaces he would be working in so there would be no errors. In my case, we had our ceremony at a church off-site, then our guests had a new location for the reception, with which the cocktail hour was on a different floor than the dinner reception/ dance floor. His technology was able to work at all three locations. He even had enough equipment to have the three spaces already set up so the guests were never left without a beat of a song. Don is knowledgeable, dedicated, and a true entertainer. He has every song, in case a random request comes up and he has every avenue for you to create your playlists. Everyone at the party said they were just so impressed with Don. Don also has a photo mirror that was a hit at the party! Don gave us a guest book for guests to take photos and sign the guest book, the guests could also take pictures and keep copies for themselves. Later, Don creates a link for you that you can share with friends and family, as well as download or print. This is such a cool perk to having the photo mirror! It was a hit and the props he had were PRICELESS! Don communicates well, and was simply easy to place all my trust with having him for my wedding day. He really made our wedding so special! I can't imagine working with any other DJ. read more

We had a great time working with Donald for our wedding. He was easy to work with, very flexible and kept the dance floor full all night!

We were working on getting cold sparks from Stand & Clap, however after exchanging many emails and a few phone calls confirming details, Don ghosted us. I had sent him emails and texts asking if we were still on and if he could send me a contract and he never responded. We also had our Day Of Coordinator reach out to hm and he never got back to her either. He was completely unprofessional. This was really close to our wedding date so we were not able to find anyone else to do cold sparks on our wedding and had to forgo that. It was pretty disappointing. Your wedding is too important to trust Stand & Clap. read more

I had the opportunity of meeting Don at Stan Mansion, we worked together during several weddings and some corporate events and I must say that he is by far, my favorite DJ of all time! First of all, he has got the newest technology and updates + as a DJ, he has his own amazing up lights, he has an awesome mirror photo booth, and that is the also one of the best photo booths I have ever seen + he has the "dancing on clouds" machine, that creates the perfect atmosphere for the First Dance and I think he also has sparkler machines, that are great for the final send off after the wedding is over, or just a great addition for a holiday party or an intense moment. Moreover, Don has projectors and screens, so literally by booking him, you minimize the amount of your vendors, which is great! Secondly, he is absolutely amazing at entertaining, he is up to date with the newest music and he has a great taste of older type of music from the 70s, 80s, 90s - you name it. He is able to keep the party going until late and you have people asking for more after the event is over :) That's exactly what you want from a DJ. Thirdly, he has great personality and is very invested in the communication with his clients and the vendors, I am relieved every time I find out that I'll be working with Don! He gives great and helpful advise, in all the situations! Hands down, Stand and Clap is the most recommended DJ at Stan Mansion and personally my favorite DJ. read more

Don DJ'd our wedding on March 19th in Chicago's West Loop and he was great! He's a passionate guy and very knowledgable about music. Communication with Don was a breeze and he always quickly responded to questions leading up to the wedding. It really helped ease our minds working with someone who's been through the process a hundred times. Don brought up a few things we hadn't thought of like order of processional, introductions and speeches. He walked us through everything from the ceremony up until the last song. Because we had our ceremony and reception at the same venue, it was easy to coordinate microphones for our officiant, string musicians and toasts. The equipment was something we were thankful he could provide as part of his fee. Apart from the logistics, where Don really shines is his ability to work on the fly. He'll read the crowd and figure out which songs get everyone dancing and enjoying themselves. He'll also work with you on last minute changes, like figuring out a song to play for your cake cutting if you didn't pick one. I also appreciated when he improvised and played a song my best man referenced during his speech. It was a nice touch and everyone thought it was planned. One of the best parts of our whole experience was how Don helped us with our first dance song. We had a song we were hoping to use that meant a lot to us but it's tempo was too fast. Using his equipment and audio software, he was able to slow the song down to the perfect speed without warping the audio. It was really impressive and we were able to use the song we wanted for our first dance. It's clear to see Don loves his job and it shows. He has great taste in music and knows how to keep the party going strong. I would highly recommend Don to anyone looking for a professional to DJ their wedding! read more

We used Stand & Clap for our 10/08/11 wedding at the Grove in Glenview. Stand & Clap was a Grove preferred vendor. After meeting with Don we knew he was the right choice. He was super-responsive (would reply to emails within minutes) enthusiastic, creative - basically he was everything we were looking for in a DJ. He was very open to our ideas (he mixed the Darth Vader theme song into my bridal march =) and had great suggestions. For example, our pre-ceremony and cocktail music was contemporary songs played by a strings (Metallica, Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, etc.) We loved the way it turned out! Don did a great job keeping the dance floor going with our music choices and guest requests, and did quite a bit of coordinating with our caterer and the venue! He also provided uplighting for us. Dinner was held in an outdoor pavilion and lighting was not the best. Don used his amber lights plus lights offered by the venue, and it looked FANTASTIC! The only glitch (which I consider minor) was at the reception. My husband and I picked out intro songs to play for each bridal party couple, and 4 of 7 were played out of order. However, it was a last minute thing we decided to do - and our intro song was correct! Thanks Don!! read more

Stand and Clap was recommended by a friend, who used them at her wedding (during which I danced all night)! We worked with Don and he was fantastic!! He provided DJ services and lighting for our wedding and made everything super easy. Don met with us in person (at our home), to discuss options and then we made all of our song selections online- the website is super easy to use. He played everything we requested, supplemented with really great songs and took requests/ made adjustments as needed in order to keep the dance floor full all evening! Our guests keep commenting on how much they danced, and how fun it was! We weren't convinced that we needed any lighting in the venue, besides what it already had, but Don visited the venue, provided a suggested lighting layout and didn't make us decide until day of, when we saw everything together. His suggested layout and colors were spot on- it made the venue even more beautiful! I had no idea how big of a difference the lighting would make but it definitely completed everything! Stand and Clap was just awesome- Don really made the party come alive and we wouldn't change anything about our experience with them. We can't recommend them highly enough!! read more

Don was FANTASTIC in every way. He is a true professional. I honestly can't recommend him enough. From start to finish in the process he kept us informed, he answered all our questions...he was more than accommodating. He does an AWESOME job w/ uplighting (I DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY recommend uplighting). Don was exactly what we wanted in a DJ...it was definitely worth saving a few thousand dollars by NOT hiring a band. Not to mention...he kept everything rolling at the reception while keeping us...the couple...front and center of the attention...NOT him. His set, his equipment....everything was top notch. Thanks Don for making our day one I will never forget! read more

As a DJ, Don was fine-he mostly played what we had asked him to play at our wedding. But 4 years later, after several attempts at requesting the slide show he made, he STILL has not provided us with a copy. read more

Don was our wedding DJ and we had a great experience with him. He was very helpful in editing songs for us for both the ceremony and reception. He even helped my matron of honor with a surprise song for me during her speech! He is knowledgeable on the logistics of music for both a wedding ceremony and reception and was a pleasure to work with. He also had great music suggestions for us! read more

Don was a pleasure to work with throughout our wedding planning process. He did our uplighting for the event and was professional, punctual, flexible, and knowledgeable. He was very patient with me when I was insanely indecisive about what color lighting I wanted. He met with us a couple of times at the venue to go over shade and placement options and was very personable. Prices are reasonable and he doesn't try to push you into spending more than you want-he's very respectful of budgets, which is much appreciated in the wedding planning process. The results turned out lovely and really made our venue look more romantic and still fun. Thanks for everything Don! read more

Don made my wife and I have a wedding that we dreamed of. He included all our requests and more, even having a song for our dog in which we didn't plan. I would recommend him to anyone that needs an outstanding professional DJ for any event especially weddings as that was my expirence. The equipment used was top of the line, sound was amazing!! Don as a person is very passionate about his job and takes it seriously, he is an ultimate ninja multitasking machine. Thanks Don you're awesome!! read more

Stand and Clap was recommended by our venue (Stan Mansion) for our wedding and we could not be happier with the decision to use them! Don was easy to work with and made sure everything was taken care of for our equipment needs. Even though we had a different DJ, Don was extremely helpful in getting directly in touch with our DJ to make sure he had everything he needed. The sound system was incredible!! Highly recommend using Stand and Clap for your music needs! read more

We just got married in October 2012. Don was the DJ at our reception. He is on the preferred vendor list of The Glen Club. He did an amazing job. He was very responsive to all of our requests. He came out to our house to meet with us to discuss our reception. His website has great features that make it very easy for a busy bride and groom to build a playlist. Don also worked seamlessly with the jazz trio that played during the cocktail hour and dinner. He was very detail oriented and even picked a great instrumental to play during their break. During the reception, the dance floor was occupied the entire time. He not only played our requests but also supplemented with other great music choices (and took requests). I received many compliments on the music which should all be attributed to Don. read more

Don is a true professional . He has everything nailed down great sound quality, variety of music and dance floor lighting. He felt the energy of the room and moved the music to keep everything going all night. The volume was kept just right from the ceremony to the last song of the night. He is someone who shows experience and puts it to work. Great choice if your looking for a wedding DJ. Our guests would say the same and so will yours. read more

My new husband and I used Don for our wedding reception. We highly recommend Don. He is very accommodating and helpful. He played our chosen songs, helped us figure out some songs, and made last minute changes when we felt like the music needed to take a different change of pace. read more

Don has been the most horrible professional I have ever had the pleasure not to meet...not only did he not show up to dj my daughter's wedding ...he never called...sent a bad replacement the made numerous mistakes and blamed it on the Glen Club....Don has said he would send a full refund and true to his nature has NOT!!!! BEWARE OF THIS DJ....DO NOT USE!!!! read more

Don is a lifesaver! We had issues with Union Station for our wedding with the lighting for the columns. Last minute, union station told us it was not included. We found Don and 3 days before our wedding, we contacted him and he was so nice and willing to help our situation. The next day, he went to check out the site and offered his services. His battery powered LED lights that highlights the contours of the columns were beautiful. We were in desperate need for someone to step up, and Don delivered last minute. I highly recommend Don for your lighting needs. read more

Donald was AMAZING!!! We hired him for our wedding and he was a huge part of our day being so perfect. Making our playlist was a breeze - when he says he can get any song you want, he means it. Also, he provides up-lighting that completely transforms your venue, a definite must! We would highly recommend standandclap to anybody planning a special event. You're the man, Donald. Thanks again!! read more

I really appreciated Don's confidence and professionalism. He really went above and beyond to make our event a very special one!

They say the most memorable aspect of a wedding is the entertainment, and working with Donald is a decision we would make a million times again! He is truly passionate about his work and went above and beyond for us. From coordinating our Maid of Honor slideshow, to playing a video clip of our proposal at the reception, to customizing entrance song clips for our bridal party, Donald is absolutely incredible! He helped our reception flow perfectly and was extremely professional and so much fun to work with. We would recommend him in a heartbeat! He actually played all of the songs we had requested beforehand, plus balanced guest requests during the reception and kept the dance floor PACKED all night! We've actually never seen anything like it - we just had so much fun all thanks to Donald. If you are looking for an incredible DJ who will truly make your night memorable, look no further. His prices were so reasonable and we honestly would have paid more for how valuable his services were. We truly owe him for making our wedding a night that our families and friends will remember forever! read more

I am so glad I hired Don. He is professional. He knows almost everything about weddings, and if you like he can give you awesome recommendations of what makes a great wedding. Months before the wedding starts, Don sat down with us and spent about two hours with us getting down the details of the wedding. After we selected our songs, he sat down with us again and walked us through what we need to be aware of on the day of the wedding. Don has like a gazillion songs in his library, if he doesn't have your song, he can get it in a jiffy. Don has a lot of class and he dresses appropriately on the day of the wedding. All I can say is Don went above and beyond what he promised us for our wedding. What I love about Don is he is the most responsive staff I have working the wedding. If you ask him a question, it is guaranteed that he gives you a response in a timely manner. I would recommend Don to my friends and relatives for any special occasion. read more
