HUGE shoutout to this place! This is the place to be! Tattoo artists are amazing artwork and personality wise. Josh Polak, has done every tattoo on my sister and I. He is outstanding, really great prices on his tattoos. Every tattoo starts at 60 and goes up depending on what you want. He works with our ideas very well and is very honest with any questions you have. The studio itself is a good size about three rooms, a restroom, and open area to hangout in. Place has so much going on on the walls (past art works and tattoo art history, freaking cool!), the music is BOMB (who doesn't love Z-Ro and UGK?) but yet still feels pretty homey! I started coming to this studio after I moved to Texas from Colorado and read great reviews. I have been getting tattooed by Wolf for almost two years. He is the bomb. I started out getting little tattoos from him now he's covered both hands, my chest, and a lot of my arms. I went to another reputable shop in Dallas for a simple tattoo and they really messed it up. Thank god I went back to Stainless and Wolf hooked it up with a gorgeous cover up. Learned my lesson never to go astray again. I will always continue to see Wolf for as long as I'm in Dallas! I've been looking everywhere for a thin gold nose ring and couldn't find one anywhere. I was worried about buying them online because of the quality and risk of getting an infection or the color wearing off. My friend recommended this place and they had exactly what I was looking for. As a new nose-piercing owner, I was hesitant to go home and try to replace the old one with the new one. So the guy who sold me the nose piercing did it and it didn't hurt even a little- I was so surprised. The prices are unbeatable. They don't try to rip you off and they're very generous and friendly. Horrible experience. We drive all the down to one of the scariest parts of Dallas because we were thinking they sounded nice on the phone. Got there, the piecer rolls through the door like he thinks he's a God lol. We start asking questions and he had THE nastiest attitude I have seen on a human in a long time. Other guys didn't say much but he was rude, and basically ran us out of there because we didn't have the correct "paperwork" that he said we needed, which was a total lie. (I HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING AND DEALING WITH JOSH, RANDY, AND BOB....3 SUPER RAD GUYS!) WOW! What a great shop! I went in tonight to get two piercings changed out and usually I am the ultimate baby about them being changed, but Josh (the piercer there) did it so fast and painless I was shocked! I bought a SUPER CUTE piece of opal jewelry from the shop which was $10 (a freakin good ass price!!!) and then at the end he only charged me $10 for the piercing I had bought and nothing to change the jewelry....keep in mind this is the FIRST TIME I have ever been here....I was again completely shocked. I asked him to charge me for a higher price so I could leave him a tip (IF YOU CANNOT CHANGE OUT YOUR PIERCING BY YOURSELF AND SOMEONE HAS THE SKILL TO YOU SHOULD ALWAYS TIP FOR THE SKILL!) and every other place I've been has always charged $10-$20 to change jewelry. Josh was very knowledgeable about what he was doing and that was obvious in the way he answered my questions and actually cared to explain more than any other piercer has before. I also had the pleasure of meeting Randy and Bob as well who were super friendly and welcoming and stepping into the shop was so easy and didn't make me feel awkward for a second (and I'm a pretty awkward person haha) I will DEFINITELY be back to this shop for piercings as well as a tattoo. to update... i discovered that one piercings was pierced at an upward angle. This was a typical earlobe piercing. It was pierced at about a 20 degree angle where any studs put in would tilt upwards. The conversations i've had with them regarding this required several followups to get any type of response. Needless to say, I'll have it re-pierced elsewhere. read more

I had an awesome experience when I went in to get my nose pierced. I can't remember the guy's name that did the piercing however I do remember everyone being super nice. It will be a year in June since I got my nose pierced & it has healed very nicely! The process was super quick, and the pain only lasted for a split second. The shop looked pretty clean and I saw the guy sterilize the equipment that he used on me. I did at one point begin to get a little bump on the outside of my piercing but I did as instructed and put some salt water on it. It was gone by the next day! read more

I found Wolf back in January when I decided it was time for another tattoo. After viewing his previous work and seeing all the positive reviews, I went to the shop to meet with him and show him what I wanted. He was in the middle of the tattoo, but very welcoming when I came in. When he had a free moment I showed him what I wanted and we set up an appointment. I had a lot of questions and he was patient and informative without ever making me feel dumb for asking (I've had an experience with someone who did that before at a different shop). When I came in for my appointment Wolf was welcoming as always and very accommodating for my friend that I brought. I was referred to Stainless Studio, and to the attention of Chris Clements. I was told he was very good at portraits. Good is not even a valued word for the art Chris creates. How about BAM! Or EXTREME! I wanted to create a music montage sleeve. And not really being a sleeve kinda girl, I had specifics as far as size and placement...you know.....Ok I am picky! I can't comment on the tattoo quality, but I don't recommend getting pierced here. I came here to get my septum pierced, and the guy who did it completely botched it. It hurt and bled a lot, and when I looked in the mirror, my heart sank because it looked way too low. I asked the piercer about it, and he said that it was the way my nose is shaped and not to worry. My body ended up rejecting it, and when I went to get it fixed at another studio, they told me that the piercing was clearly way too low and that it would have caused me a lot of issues if I had waited much longer to take it out. I've since gotten it redone at a different studio with zero issues. read more

I got my tattoo with James today and could not be more pleased. I have 3 tattoos and this is certainly my favorite one thus far. The studio was very clean and had great positive energy. I brought in a couple different pictures of what I wanted and James was able to draw out the perfect image for me. The tattoo is about 3 inches and the detail he added was beautiful. Very defined and well drawn, also he has a good hand because it was not that painful at all. He was very patient when it came to redrawing it a couple of times. Got my nose pierced a couple days ago. I'm currently at another piercing establishment to fix what he did. The manager (?) was nice. She honored incorrect pricing that was on their website. I mean granted, you're legally bound by it but at least she wasn't too difficult. It's a shame it still went in vain though. read more

Wow! I love the bad ass tat I got from Dave Nash @ Stainless hands down a phenomenal artist...I came in weeks before I had the pleasure of sitting chair side with him, with this sad sad left arm! The cover up can't even see that there is one, job we'll done sir. Ok. I found this place from a friend who gave it raving reviews. I even looked into the place and found a ton of great reviews. Went to their website and everything to check up on the information. I wanted to get my nipples pierced. I was told this was one of the BEST places to get your piercings done so I figured they'd use internal threading jewelry. I emailed them asking to verify beforehand anyways. They emailed back a few days later and said they don't know and I'd have to ask the piercer himself. Why is it so hard to ask him yourself and reply back? Or just forward the email to him? Or mark it as unread and have him reply whenever possible? That annoyed me. I had a very small opening for when I could get the procedure done. On their website it lists only one piercer who has been doing this for like thirteen years. Sounds great right? Well, whenever I decided I'd just take the risk on the threading (because- come on. This is supposedly one of the best places in Dallas to get it done. They wouldn't be irresponsible with the jewelry they use, would they?) and went to the shop to get my piercing done, I was greeted by the piercer. I asked again anyway about the threading. He said he couldn't remember and that he'd have to open up one of the jewelry things to check at which point I would have to pay for it any. Now I'm super pissed. But I've heard raving reviews so I figure this is just this guy's bad day or something. He marks the spots he's going to insert the needle and then jewelry. One of them is off so he adjusts it- no big deal there. However, right before he does the piercing he informs me he's the FILL IN PIERCER. It wouldn't be that bad if he was listed on the website. He wasn't. I asked him how long he's been doing it and he said about three years. Now, I've watched a ton of YouTube videos on nipple piercings. Almost all that I've seen have them lay down or sit in a seat. Nope. He just had me sit at the edge of the table. The videos are also INCREDIBLY fast. This was not the case for me. The pain was so intense and the piercing took so long I almost threw up and passed out. I'm not exaggerating. I'm a tough girl. Pain is nothing to me. But that was beyond excruciating. I check it out in the mirror and it looks good. I figure it all hurts this bad at this point and decide to just get the other one done while I'm at it because I don't think I can go in to get my other nipple piercing a separate time after this. The markings had smudged and I didn't notice. But whenever he pierced it- again, it so slow and the pain so intense my boyfriend said I looked green- it was crooked. He had to repierce it. Afterwards he almost sent me home without aftercare instructions. Don't go here. At least not for nipple piercings from the fill in guy. If you come here, get the professional. But honestly, if you want to get your nipples done at all, don't go to a place that puts the piercees in harms way by using external threading. Seriously. If you have to you should spend more money elsewhere for a less excruciating experience and higher quality jewelry. read more

I walked in and was nervous, but Rob greeted me and was very warm and nice. I got a nostril piercing earliearlier today, and it all went very quickly and smoothly. The shop is small, but very neat and clean. Now apparently there are two Robs lol. So Robert Smith, was the one who took care of me today, and the piercing was affordable. I sounded apprehensive at first and he made sure I was positive about wanting the piercing before he did anything lol. He made the experience a great one and helped me to relax. I knew for years I wanted a tattoo, but the whole experience of having something placed on my body forever was a bit overwhelming, so I put it off. Finally, years later, I knew I was ready to get inked, but just wasn't sure of where to go. I knew I didn't want a fly by night shop, so I decided to go to several studios around town and meet with some of the tattoo artists. Arriving at Stainless Studios gave me a positive impression from the beginning. The shop was clean, their humor was obvious from the beginning, and the awards and news clippings lining the walls were nice. I spoke to Smitty about getting a tattoo, went over what I had in mind, and showed him a picture of a general idea I had. I was someone who had avoided going into these places because I didn't want to be judged for my lack of knowledge on the subject, it's kind of like Fight Club, ya know?...but Smitty made me feel really comfortable, and went in depth into the procedure, cost, and general FAQ's that I had. I never once felt like I was being talked down to, and it really put me at ease. He showed me some of his work, and after looking online at his gallery, I decided he was the man for the job! We waited a day to make sure that I was really certain, and when I came the next day, we got right to work. I was pleased to see he had been doing some research on the tattoo I wanted and went over any alterations he had made to my original idea as well as explaining why. He was funny, walked me through the whole process, and made a point to double check everything with me. I cannot explain how much I enjoyed the entire experience, and I will most definitely be going back for more. STAINLESS SAVED MY ASS, well, the tat on my chest, at least! Three weeks ago, I made the mistake of getting my very first tattoo (at another studio called Freak Show, on Garland Road in Dallas) without doing any research into artists, studios, etc.. Since getting that horrendous tat, I've visited 12+ other shops (in person) and researched countless others (online) in the DFW area...and the work & patience really paid off, 'cause I found my new home-away-from-home with some of the coolest Artists in town...at Stainless Studios! I made no appointment and experienced absolutely no wait and when I walked-in on a late Monday afternoon. After being warmly greeted by all three available Artists in an immaculately clean stud and the AMAZING consultation Chellez gave me, I immediately feel at ease and decided to treat myself to an early birthday present and get the two new tats I wanted. After explaining what happened weeks earlier, Chellez made a deal to do not only the two new tats but rework my first one! After I peppered her with questions about what I was thought I was looking for, she patiently talked-out the designs, what they mean (in general and to me, specifically) and helped guide us to what I didn't realize I wanted (slightly bigger and a little bolder)...she must be psychic cause she read my mind before I even knew it! I was SOLD! After she got setup, made sure I was comfortable, she got to work on the first tat rework (stylized version of Doctor Who's TARDIS) and did such an amazing job, I can't see ANY of the problems I had with the original work (sketchy lines reworked into bold, strong, STRAIGHT lines!) and actually improved on the original reference I provided by making the light on top look a billion times better. SUPER YAY! The two new designs were simple but Chellez gave it the attention to detail as the more detailed rework. CLEAN. CRISP. BOLD. LINES! Exactly what I wanted! YAS! Being in a client-focused-design-industry myself, I made some observations throughout my visit. Anyone who runs a business (or enjoys an stunning client experience) might appreciate these notes. In no particular order: - Spotless parking lot, reception & studio areas. - Their entire location has TASTE. Every bit of artwork is hung with care, there's a strong sense of alignment and balance in the layout and decor of the place. (Most other places I visited were a mess in this department). - Every phone call the studio received was picked up on the first ring. - My interactions with all three Artists made me feel like family. I could talk (and joke) freely and comfortably throughout my entire visit (about 2-3 hours, honestly I lost track of time cause it was so fun). - The Apprentice Artist (Nando) eagerly helped Chellez and used every minute of spare time to draw and explore his craft. - I overheard Weso, another Artist, gave Nando some amazing critique of his work and how to make it better, which Nando accepted brilliantly. (that's super important because it shows how focused the studio is on developing Artists and not "button pushers.") - They have standards in work produced. Weso turned down a job because their requests would have looked horrible (my words, not his). He handled it so professionally that I wanted to give him a hi-five. As an artist, it's hard to delicately explain why a design won't work and exactly how he was willing to approach a quality solution without upsetting anyone, and somehow he did it...they just didn't want to listen to his advice. I doubt he'd ever say it (or even think it) so I'll say it... "He told you so!" Of all the places I checked out, which includes all the dives in the heart of Deep Ellum and others on the fringes of Dallas, in Garland and Arlington, Stainless Studios is by FAR the cleanest and most client-focused studio in town and somehow managed to beat everyone else's price and quality, hands down. I'm coming back and proud to be recommending them all my friends! read more

DON'T waste your time and get ripped off!!! Terrible service and rude as we were jerked around by Weso / Danny. I called Stainless Studio since we live an hour away. They said no problem with us getting our tattoo and their rules are no appt over the phone that we needed to come to their location and do a consultant. They tell me no problem with getting it done. We drive to their location. We are told he needs to finish a tattoo and come back in 2 hours and he'll be ready. Danny tells us he'll text me. We wait over 2 hours and I text him twice with no response. We go back to location and ask for Danny. They first act like he never existed and get rude. We ask again that we just spoke to him. The guy rolls his eyes and goes back yelling "Danny they are back". He comes out to say he's started another tattoo and we'll just have to wait another 2 to 2.5 hours. His nice demeanor is now gone and he's all rude. We ask to reschedule. He says he will text me with the line art design and schedule for Monday. Well.... He never calls or texts, and he doesn't answer. I've been tattooed in various US and European cities. They were the most unprofessional studio. We went to Fine Line Tattoo and Elm Street Tattoo. Both were awesome. Super friendly and treated us great. read more

I was referred to this place thru a family member. I do want to say, this is a very clean place and the owner was extremely nice, but that is it. This tattoo was very special to me b/c I was getting this in honor of my mom that had just passed away very suddenly. I will say this artist did an excellent job in drawing exactly what I wanted but that is about it. I showed her colors I wanted in certain areas from several different pictures. At first the tattoo looked awesome, but after it healed, the colors needed some correcting. I contacted her to make an appt for her to do some correcting and I even offered to pay for it, even though technically I did not have to. She never could get me in-she was always, always booked. I find it strange that I was able to get an appt quickly, but for a touch up t? I guess it was not as important since she had already made her money. Finally I got on her schedule a couple of months later. I texted her the day before the appt to confirm and she told me I was not on her schedule. I even sent her a copy of the text she sent me when she made the appt to provide I did have one and I never heard back from her. Words cannot express how upset and disappointed I am that I paid all this money for a tattoo that I am NOT happy with at all. This tattoo was very special and for an artist to not stand behind her work knowing how much this meant to me is NOT acceptable. I would recommend that you look around before going this place. read more
