Today was my first visit to Glam Earth, and I am so glad that I made the trek out to Washington, PA…read moreto get there. It is located in the Quail Acres Shoppes, in a teeny, tiny little brick building at the top of the hill near Palazzo, the restaurant. The door is on the side of the building facing the restaurant, not the parking lot, so it was hard to find. Also, don't look for a sign to jump out at you- their sign is small and I didn't even notice it until I was practically in the door. Inside the shop is very small, but it is tastefully decorated and full of wonderful, organic and natural finds. They have a great selection of soaps, cosmetics, and skincare, and quite a few of their products are even made locally, which is a huge bonus. I went in there looking for skin care items because my skin has been very red and dry. Barb was incredibly nice and knowledgeable about all of the products, and made the perfect suggestions for my skin type. She really made my shopping experience pleasurable, and I did not feel pressured to buy anything I did not want. I was able to try a toner and moisturizer before I made any decisions about my purchase, which helped me feel more confident about my purchase. She was not pushy, which I really appreciated. While I was there she also showed me some of their cosmetics and applied a variety of products, all of which were amazing. I must have tried 6 different lip colors. They really have the best quality of products available in that little shop, and I am very happy with my purchases. If you like to buy organic products for your skin, screw the big stores like Whole Foods or Aveda or whatever- you need to go there. Their hours are from Wed-Saturday, 10-5, but sometimes they need to close because she is the only one working there. I suggest you give them a ring before you stop in to make sure she will be there and to let her know to expect you.

I am from out of town and was looking for a MUA for my engagement photos in Pittsburgh. Booking was…read moreeasy and she emails you back promptly. My photoshoot never happened because of bad weather but since family is in the area we visited Pittsburgh and I met with Jae Lee for a makeup tutorial since my photographer decided to meet us in Iceland for our engagement pictures (wasn't going to find an MUA there so I was going to have to do it myself). Jae Lee is wonderful. I am a chapstick and sunscreen girl (mascara with a dash of eye shadow on a good day) and she taught me how to look like a million bucks. From the basics of moisturizing to the brushes I needed for foundation, highlights, eyeshadow, brows, and contouring... she was on it. I learned all the proper techniques to make my face look camera ready. I really enjoyed that Jae Lee would demonstrate and do half of my face and allow me to do the other half with her watching-- such an effective teaching method! She's supportive and even writes down every product that I liked on a sheet that explains what goes where and which brush (diagram included!) Simply put, I think every lady should get a chance to do this tutorial at some point. It's good for feeling confident about glamming yourself up for a special occasion and also a life skill of just knowing how to correctly and advantageously apply makeup! I just wish I had done this sooner in my life! You should check her Instagram (jaeleeparedesmakeup) for photos of her clients. She is skilled and really sweet. Her studio has ample parking and is very chic. In the future when we finally get back around to getting family photos in Pittsburgh, I'm going to Jae Lee for the makeup!

Jae Lee was the artist behind our daughter's senior picture photo shoot. Not only did this woman…read morestart an 8 hour shoot by doing some kick-ass make up (Briana was the artist taming my daughter's very curly, long hair and she was amazing, too) but she proceeded to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening not only doing touch ups for make up and hair but styling my daughter after the photographer posed her and even helping with lights and putting a huge smile on everyone's face with her down-to-earth, very funny personality. We COULD NOT have gotten through that day without her! Thank you Jae Lee - you will now be on speed dial for the red carpet events coming up!!!!
