Stagecoach buses are a very mixed lot in Oxford. Some services are excellent - frequent, on time, with knowledgeable drivers, convenient stops, and comfortable buses. Some are appallingly bad - old overloaded minibuses and tatty bigger buses, drivers who don't know the route/area/language, and habitually late trips. The pricing structure is not always logical or good value - particularly if you are travelling outside the city rather than just inside it. Passes, on the other hand, are good value and allow travel in a wide area for a proportionately low amount.
Many buses are pushchair/wheelchair-friendly; it's a shame that the passengers often are not - and nor are a few drivers. It's worth noting the bus number and complaining if you get a bad experience, as a few drivers seem to think that driving away from a stop while frail/elderly passengers are still making their way down the bus is a good thing. read more
