Just when I thought Pescadero couldn't get any cuter, I discover the Stage Road Shop... which has many treasures, but largely, an enviable collection of cat goods. As a cat person, I give this shop and the incredible owner 5-stars. Perfect for gifts (especially if you have a cat lover in your life). Cat wind chimes, cat garden ornaments, cat signage, cat clay statues, some cat incense holders that I'm totally going back for, and more... though the shop hosts no actual live cats. In addition to all the cat goods, there's also this really rad goat painting that I'm now having major regrets about not purchasing, but like I said, I'm going back and I'll just have to hope no one reading this snatches it before me. The owner is so friendly and sweet and partially communicates via her notepad after having a stroke and brain surgery and not being able to speak for over a year, apparently. She's an incredible ray of light who chooses pieces she loves and cares about for her most adorable shop and I can't wait to come back. read more

Right off the bat, it was mildly difficult to find my way to the right shop. I had to read the signs to make sure I was where I wanted to be. The shop had signs layered around the area, most likely to point you in the right direction towards the shop. The shop is way to the left when you enter a borrow driveway and is a little hidden from a first glanced view. The shop itself is filled with socially conscious and environmentally friendly products. A small, but noticeable incense echoes the rooms with a reminiscent fragrance. I bought a mahogany box crafted by hand in Vietnam which was fairly priced. The lady guided me throughout the store, eager to get on my good side, and it worked. She explained the cultural significance of the Vietnamese boxes and jewelry and how they dated back to the Vietnam War. An overall good shop, with a terrible location. read more

Quintessential cute, Pescadero knick knack shop. I came away with a meditating porcelain kitty and a bunny jewelry tray :) All cuteness aside, Judy, the owner, is an inspiration. Very friendly/ welcoming as my bf and I walked in. Judy greeted us and held up an index card explaining that she has owned the store for 20 years and has been a stroke survivor for 8. As someone with a parent that has suffered from a stroke, I was totally blown away by her resilience and all around badassedness! A beautiful gift shop with all kinds of cool stuff like carved puzzle wooden boxes, soaps, jewelry, scarves, recycled glass items, antique pieces, and paintings of the Pacific coast and SF. The owner is a stroke survivor with an amazingly positive attitude and is very inspiring. I would definitely stop here again. read more

Judy's shop is hidden in a back garden area, but follow the cute signs and trinkets to get there! The shop is filled with well-priced, fun and colorful gifts- many from Judy's own collection and others from interesting local artists. I picked up a small artichoke canvas, a glass soap dish, a sweet doxie ring holder, a handmade Dr Seuss luggage tag, and a beautiful candle. As the previous poster has shared, Judy herself staffs the store and is as lovely, warm and inviting as her shop. She is a stroke survivor who carries a beautiful spirit and attitude. I love this shop! I can't go in without finding something every time! The jewelry selection is wonderful and the prices are right. I love the little gravel walkway with fresh flowers all around and stepping into the old building that leaves you with a real old-world feel...or as "old world" as you can get for California! I used to only go in as far as the jewelry counter, but then discovered hidden treasures in the back of the store....I scored a beautiful dress for my toddler last time from Bali.....so colorful, unique and beautiful. This is the reason I visit Pescadero so much! Well, the cream of green chili and cream of artichoke soup combo served at Duartes.......with warm bread get me there too! Judy, who is an 8 year stroke survivor brightens my day with her kindness and enthusiasm. You can feel the love in that store! Her merchandise is incredible. Cat lovers will especially enjoy her garden art. There are lovely candles and beautiful glass soap dishes. The purple one changes from purple to blue depending upon the lighting. There are lovely handmade boxes and many special things there. Her jewelry is incredible...prices good. I remember Judy before her stroke and she shared a wealth of information about how she chooses her jewelry. She makes sure to pass on quality items. Please don't miss her shop....drive up the driveway and see the little cottage store to the left behind lovely shrubs. Judy has done a beautiful job with her store. She deserves our support. This charming shop really is as good as it gets. There are some really original items that Judy sells here. The prices for the artwork are very reasonable. She has some very unique items to sell including the garden decorations, wind chimes, and its knick knacks. What enchants you to the shop is its owner, Judy.
