It is beautifully merchandised with tons of home decor and whimsical, unique table settings, table runners, placemats, napkins, ribbons, floral arrangements, serving pieces, etc., etc. If you're looking for cool decorating ideas, you'll find them here! I love Americana and there were many items out for the upcoming Fourth of July! My only disappointment is the cost for many of the items. I would've loved to purchase a small potted faux red geranium, but it was way overpriced at $35. Will I return? You bet! I just wish I had thought to take pictures inside this delightful store!

The new location is still in cute downtown Los Altos, but seemed smaller than I remember. Rent must be so high for shops downtown. It seemed like their inventory was reduced, too, but it could be that the new shop was arranged differently. Or I may be misremembering. The staff person greeted me immediately and came over to see if she could help me find anything. The store was busy while I was there, which was nice to see. The selection of yarn was good with many brands I'd never heard of before. They had some beautiful silk yarn I was tempted to buy but didn't because I wasn't sure what project I would use it on. They also had beautiful knit and crochet samples throughout the shop.

The first thing to know about Kings Mountain Art Fair is the parking situation is going to be bad…read more Parking is almost entirely on the side of the road, often on the edge of a cliff or against a hill - if you have a larger car, it's going to be rough. Make sure your tires don't cross the white line and prepare to walk on the highway (dodging rearview mirrors and cars) to get to the fair. Once you get to the fair you'll note it's entirely in the woods. The fire team has put down sawdust and you'll be hiking, but it's a gorgeous space and a very unique fair. Many of the artists make use of the space and set their items up in the trees or brush. That being said, we're pretty sure we won't return as Kings Mountain Road was deeply unpleasant to drive through, even with a small car. It was incredibly narrow, twisty, with low-speed cyclists the entire way. Skyline Blvd is the only other option and while it was a much nicer drive it was quite crowded. Overall, I enjoyed my visit, but don't see myself coming back.

Free art gallery in downtown Saratoga area!! Open to the public! Arrived with some friends around…read more2:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon. Sundays are the best days to visit any downtown area since parking isn't a struggle and it's free. We stumbled upon this art gallery since we were enticed for the free art magnet if you visit the gallery. It houses up to 25 artists and they're one of the few exhibits that survived throughout the pandemic. Faye, the caretaker, for the day was super kind and descriptive in the art gallery; great conversationalist and knowledgeable about the art and artists in the gallery. There's about 4 rooms from jewelry, scarves, ceramics, and prints. Breathtaking art from abstract, landscape scenery, small prints of flowers and plants, and so much more. Seeing recently produced artwork is awesome; my friends had such a blast that two of them bought some art prints for home decor, especially some cat art prints. It's a great sight to see in downtown Saratoga! Take a quick stop to enjoy the art!

It was enough that I noticed a couple of workers glared at me. For what's meant to be a leisurely, outdoor space, they overall don't appear very happy or warm, at least not to the casual customer curious enough to walk in on a weekend. I did end up getting a reasonably priced house plant (~$26, sticker says it's from a farm in Half Moon Bay) and a beautiful pinkish 5-stem rose bouquet (~$12) because they looked nice and healthy and I knew they'd make me happy, but the vibe itself here isn't the best compared to other nurseries. This also isn't really a full walk-in florist space. There are some pretty bouquet options to choose from, but it's not as extensive as expected particularly given the other reviews that make it sound like a dedicated florist service. I did see a lot of colorful potted orchids lined up across the front window. Also, overall the items in the gift shop are extremely pricey and up marked -- doesn't seem like much shopping gets done in this space -- and it's less so a quaint country shop vibe and more so try-hard pretentious.
