It was Valentine's Night and Having just been refused a table for one at a local Indian because they were fully booked I was surprised it seemed quiet. I was told the restaurant area was folly booked so I was offered a table in the quiet bar area. The service was a fairly quick. Staff kept telling clients that there were only 2 staff on and they were fully booked, but I'd estimate the restaurant was less than 1/2 full and the bar only 10% occupied. I ordered a selection of pies with mash, mushy peas and a jug of gravy for £9.59. The food arrived very quickly considering they were supposed to be very busy. The pies were a varying success, the mushy peas were mushy and the mash tasted odd: it was probably instant and stood around all day. I decided not to risk a pudding. Probably a reasonable spot for a family or a quiet drink with friends, but if you fancy good food I'd drive past.

With a wide selection of real ales and lagers and a few ciders. The menu consists of traditional english food with an italian swist. The staff are also very polite and welcoming and are a good laugh to talk and joke around with, while still remaining professional at the same time. I would totally recommend this place for family meals or a relaxed night out with friends.

Very nice layout in general, they have a pool table and dart board, aswell as a leather sofa lounge area and a back bar to accomodate more customers on busy days. They also play live music weekly and have poker tournaments, which anyone can join in for a small fee and includes a buffee. The drinks aswell are fair priced and well looked after. The only small point I would make is the bar staff could be abit more motivated as the barmaid there after serving me went and sat straight down in the bar and played with here phone. Apart from that it would be a good place for a boozy night out.

They may not have the best selection of lager but once you're there you don't mind. They have a lovely, green and well taken care of beer garden. This is a big bonus, especially during spring and summer. There is a roof over it, so even if it rains you can still enjoy sitting outdoors. We almost always get free treats as well; chips, sausages, mini burgers, sandwiches etc. which is very nice, they are all very good at making you feel welcome and appreciated as a customer. If you haven't been yet, give them a chance, pop in, you wont regret it!
