Another fantastic hair cut and beard trim by Amanda here at Stache! I have never had the skill or ability to trim my own beard without making it a total mess. More often than not, I would do so much damage. I'd have to just shave it all lol. I started coming here about a year ago and Amanda has cut my hair several times and she does a phenomenal job. She's always super friendly. She is incredibly skilled. I really can't give her enough credit. Everyone I've ever interacted with is super friendly and welcoming. I brought my 15 year old here for a haircut and shave. Both were expertly executed, and he liked his new look when we left-what more can I ask for? Our stylist was super fast (and this child has a head of hair!) it has a comfortable atmosphere, classy without pretension. C I had a little bit of difficulty finding the business, but once I did, I found ample parking in their rear lot- which you don't always find at salons in the city. I actually found this place on Yelp, and I'm so glad that I did. Great service! The atmosphere here is super dope. It's literally a "chill spot", if I'd ever seen any. Complementary finger food and drinks before your service of choice, along with being greeted by host of beautiful staff - this spot most definitely has to be added to your monthly regiment. Had an appointment with Stephanie P. (There are two Stephanie's) it was excellent. Haircut and beard trim were exactly what I was looking for. I'm fortunate, Stache is close to my house, but even it wasn't I'd gladly commute, she is definitely one of the most skilled people in Rochester for men's cuts. Stache overall is basically the best of both worlds. The environment and service are five star, but the ladies who work there are super chill and friendly, so you end up with a premium service with out any of the pretentious bullshit you find in other places. Disappointing. Wish that Stache had sent out a follow up customer satisfaction survey after my visit. A private customer sat survey or follow up would have allowed some straightforward feedback to the owners. Not a big believer in public postings on Yelp that are critical. Haircut was very good. However, beard trim not. Needs to 'fixed' now so that one side is not clearly longer than the other.. I am not an active reviewer... Hell, maybe I've forgotten a review from the past, but this may be my first actual review. I'm writing it because I stopped in for an impromptu haircut yesterday with Devon and was blown away with how great her work is. I could tell she's building her business and isn't as experienced as the others at Stache, but she deserves recognition for her craftsmanship. I gave her little instruction - I am usually pretty simple - and she convinced to make some changes that came out looking spectacular. She's a rising star in Rochester and I highly recommend you give her a chance. Also, I tried Stache out as a substitute for where I usually get my haircut because of scheduling conflicts. I found a lot of male focused places in the area that screamed sleaze. That's NOT this place. The environment is super professional and everyone is chill and friendly. I'm a blue collar worker who appreciates some of life's finer things. I've spent plenty of time trying to find a relatively "upscale" place to be pampered. As a man, a barber shop is nice and personable, just not for me. I wanted a little more. The Mens Room Spa was my go to for quite some time until it lost its personal touch of patron recognition like it was when I first started going there. I felt like number instead of a regular when I walked in there so I tried something new. Found Roosters in Victor and my ever so familiar stylest, Allie, was working there. It was nice and personable there but she had gotten another opportunity at Stache. I went there tonight for the first time and Allie cut my hair. I'm back to being happy at yet another grooming joint for men. Small, quaint, personable. Adult beverages are complimentary and the feel is relaxed and chill. Went for my first cut and shave from Steph. It was an amazing experience, so personal and professional. A small salon with plenty of seating, an attenitive owner, and by far the best cut I have ever had. As a guy with sensitive skin, she gave me the cleanest, most comfortable shave I have ever had with NO irritation. Her movements were like art on my face... I cannot tell you how lucky I am to have found a salon without the pushy bimbos in my face, the "nose-up" attitude, or more pitches than a car salesman. I will be a regular there for sure! read more
