    Horseback riding along Turtle Bay
    Jon O.

Enjoyed our morning ride at the Stables at Turtle Bay! The 45 minute ride was just long enough to enjoy the scenery but not so long that our lower extremities were tired out. Also loved the staff who helped keep the horses in line and made jokes along the way. Highly recommend this fun activity if you're in the area!

I reserved a stable ride at turtle Bay resort on Thursday, July 13 at 10:30 AM. Arrived on time and filled out the waiver and tried to check in, but because of a system transfer they lost my reservation that I made back in March. The stable handlers said that, they were sorry for the inconvenience and they would push it back to 1230 and my group of five will be a private ride. I accepted and asked them what should I be doing for the two hours. She contacted the main hotel and spoke to someone in the concierge's apartment, they contacted me back and asked if I wanted to have a cabana for the rest of the day or for another day on this trip. I was only visiting the resort coming up from Waikiki for the day and I accepted. OMG!!! What started as possibly a bad experience, because it pushed my schedule back the rest of the day, turned out to be probably the BEST VACATION DAY I've ever had! The ride along the coast was spectacular. The scenery was unbeatable as we rode and looked at the beautiful waters of Hawaii. The whole ride was like a dream, and my family was over the moon with the experience. Highly, highly recommend to anyone thinking about a horseback ride in Oahu. It only got better, when we went back to the turtle Bay resort to see the concierge, I was told I was getting a cabana next to the pool area, and they set me up with a family package of appetizer, fruit, platters, and drinks. ALL COMPLIMENTARY!!! I was shocked at the generosity of the resort, and the rest of the day I spent enjoying the pool area and the infinity pool. It was an unbelievable and unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back and stay at the Turtle Bay Resort on our next Hawaii trip. I would like to express my heartfelt thank you and gratitude to the concierge's team and the stable team this experience will never be forgotten .

    A moment we'll remember.

Had a great time on the Sunset ride. Jenna(?) was our guide and was great at providing commentary on all the items of interest. Definitely worth the time and expense.

It is such a relaxing ride along the coast as the waves crash along the shore and the breeze off the ocean keeps us cool. The staff has always chosen the perfect temperament horses for us and after our ride, my legs aren't killing me like it had on other rides. This is our go to place to ride when we are on Oahu!

This place is absolutely horrible. It was a waste of my time and gas to drive all the way out…read morethere. I made a reservation online for 6 people and 6 balls to rent. I wrote in the time that I wanted to start which was 1230 pm. I show up at 1230 exactly and go to check in at the outpost Hut. The 2 guys inside the Hut tell me they didn't see my reservation and they rented out all their balls to a group that just came in..... So...we had to WAIT until the group was finished to get the balls to play.... On top of that, I paid $10 per person to play, and the guy in the hut tells me there's only 6 or 7 holes available since they use the course to pop fireworks off of. New years was about a week ago!! You're telling me, you're too lazy to put back the holes for a whole week?! Cmon man..... Then, I ask for a cart to put all our stuff in and he tells me that they don't rent out carts but that I could get one at the golf hut. So my mom walks all the way over to the golf hut for them to tell her that they don't rent out golf carts for soccer golf......?! So then after all of this, the guy in the outpost hut tells me he will refund me the balls we rented as a way to make up the unfinished course and the time we had to wait for the balls to come back. That was nice of them.....except for the fact that he didn't do it!!! He was straight up lying. Bc i kept checking my account and I didn't see no refund pending from them.... So I waited 2-3 days then I finally call them back checking up on the refund. Explain the whole thing and I'm pretty sure the guy who answered the phone was the same guy who told me he would refund it to me the day of my reservation! So he puts me on hold and tells me that a manager has to be the one to refund me. So why did that guy in the outpost hut tell me he was refunding me if he really wasn't?!?! To top it all off, the course looks like crap. And they don't even have a score card to give you. Good thing I took a picture of their somewhat course layout so I knew where the heck I was going. The course is literally just grass that is so overgrown and bumpy that you cannot even call it foot golf. Save yourself time and don't go here.

Highly recommend visiting Kualoa Ranch and doing this popular tour! The land is ginormous and offer sooo many different tours. I'll def come back and book one of the tour activities for horseback riding and zip-lining. The UTV tour is two hours long and you can either self-drive the UTV or book one with the tour guide. Each UTV has enough room for up to 6 people I believe. We paid $162.79 per person. They make you arrive 45 min beforehand but we showed up 25 mins beforehand and it was fine. You check in with the folks behind the counter and then they'll lead you to the area with the numbered table benches. They still made us wait for the group before us to leave before we even could line up by those tables. Once you check in, they give you a neck scarf (which you can keep) and try on helmets and goggles. You can bring your own goggles or wear sunglasses too. They make you sign waivers and also check your IDs if you're driving. Each time slot has up to 10 groups and you drive in a line, stopping at about 3-4 stops. Our tour guides were awesome and very knowledgeable in telling us facts about the different film stops. I'm a big movie/ TV show fan so it was really cool seeing some of these places in person! They had infamous sets from Jurassic World, Jumanji, King Kong, etc. They gave us plenty of time to check out some of the stops and take pictures. They're also really nice and offered to take multiple pics for us, including one with a big dinosaur in the background (they carry a dinosaur toy for these pics lol). Make sure you book in advance because they fill up the time slots quick! You will get dirty from the UTV drive so I recommend wearing something that you don't mind getting messy. Also bring a mask or wear their neck scarf so you don't breathe in the dust. At the beginning of the tour, they take your picture and then sell printed copy as a souvenir at the end for $20. They have a food court, gift shop, and bathrooms inside. There's also plenty of parking which is a plus!

Matt, Kamalu, and Pierce (visiting from the Tennessee Climb Works) were engaging, funny, approachable and knowledgeable. They even gave us local food recommendations that hit the spot after an early morning tour. Thank you! I'd recommend a morning zip line, we did the 7:20am, especially if you're coming from the other side of the island like we were. We avoided the morning traffic, had great views of the morning sun and then rest of the day to enjoy other activities. They have a small store with clothing, bags, jewelry and snacks/drinks and small lockers for your stuff. The one purchase recommendation - they sell cell phone holders that you attach to your phone and you can carry your phone around your neck. I recommend buying one- held my phone safely and I was able to record and take pictures without fear of dropping it, even tucked it in my shirt when I went upside down. No issues. For parents wondering whether to take your younger kids... if they meet the age range, do it. Just don't show them pictures beforehand LOL. My 11 year old felt safe enough to go upside down. My youngest looked at pictures and thought it would be too high so we cancelled her reservation. In hindsight, she would have loved every second of it and I regret not encouraging her more to try it. I'm sure even if she was scared meeting the guides would have helped her find her courage. They do a practice zip line before going to the higher ones and working your way zip lining down. They say as young as 5 can ride-- and with all their safety precautions, I can see why the age limit is so low. Do it!

This was a good experience. I came here with my boyfriend for his birthday and we did have fun, but…read morethe whole experience also felt kind of awkward. The ATV ride itself was enjoyable. We drove around different trails, got to see nice views and some animals along the way, which was cool. We came about a month after the storms, so the scenery wasn't at its absolute best, but that's totally understandable and not a complaint at all. It is pretty expensive though, around $130 per person, and feeding the animals was an extra $10 for small pellets to feed the cows and goats. The views and experience were still nice, but for the price, we expected the overall service to feel a little more polished. The main thing that stood out was the guides. We had two guides and they were both really quiet and awkward. They didn't really explain much or try to interact with us, which made the vibe feel uncomfortable at times. My boyfriend and I even tried making conversation, but they just weren't very chatty. It honestly felt kind of tense the whole ride. At the end, things got even more awkward because one of the guides basically disappeared without saying goodbye or telling us what to do next. We were just standing there confused with our gear, not knowing where to put anything or whether we were supposed to check out somewhere. The other guide mentioned they had just started working there and wasn't sure what the next steps were either, which is understandable, but it still felt a little unprofessional considering how much the experience cost. Also, when booking, there was a section asking if we were celebrating anything, and I mentioned it was my boyfriend's birthday. We weren't expecting anything free or over-the-top, but it would've been nice if someone had at least acknowledged it since they specifically asked during booking. Overall, the ATV ride and scenery were fun, but the customer service and overall organization definitely could've been better for the price point.
