Not having a healthy family example growing up, it's no wonder God planted my husband and I here when we were first married, because the Word the Lord has given this church first and foremost is to build strong Word and faith families. I can testify that being planted here for 20 years has done just that in our lives! We were married young, pregnant, and all statistics would have said we were destined to fail, but God is faithful and His Word (the bible) is all powerful! Psalm 92:13 says those who are planted in the house of the Lord will flourish in His courts, and that truly describes our lives in every way - from our family flourishing, to the financial increase we've experienced, healing power in our physical bodies, joy, peace, amazing friendships, we live a blessed life! That doesn't mean storms don't come our way, but we don't fret or worry...instead, we have learned to put our trust in the Lord and in His Word, and to speak His Word fearlessly and to command the storms to be calm so that we can get to the other side in victory. God's Word never fails! (Isaiah 55:11) Whether it's healing for a relationship, healing for a friend's physical body, freedom from fear, freedom from addictions, someone speaking lies against you, whatever the storm may be, when you meditate on God's Word (Joshua 1:8), you will make your way prosperous and successful! This is a church that is strong in teaching straight from the bible, the truth and power of God's Word. Also, if you need a miracle from God, this is the place to be...not that you can't receive a miracle right in your own home or in another church, because you most certainly of course can! Just sharing that we have seen many miracles, especially this past year - many healed of cancer and other sickness and disease. Matthew 21:13 says: "My house shall be called a house of prayer" .... There is an opportunity at the end of every service for people to come forward with prayer requests, and the Sunday night services are especially geared for people in need -- it's a time where we as a body agree with the Word and the report of the Lord (what He says in His Word - like "by His stripes you were healed!") and there is great freedom for the Holy Spirit to minister healing to God's people. Praise and worship is longer at the Sunday night services and there is an opportunity for every person who desires to come forth for prayer. No church is perfect, because people aren't perfect and churches are made up of people, so I don't get hurt if someone in the body rubs me the wrong way, or says something that's not so nice...I believe too many people go from church to church looking for the "perfect" place, and unfortunately, you're never going to find it, because again, wherever you go, you're going to find people. :-) It's in those moments where we choose to love, even when it's not so easy to love, that our roots go deep and we grow and mature in the love of God (which I can tell you firsthand is richly rewarding). I've forgiven just a few people who've done things to hurt me in this lifetime...:-) many of them weren't easy, but when I prayed for God to fill me up with His love for those people, He did and in the process, I got healed too! God's love IS perfect, and HIS love never fails. (1 Cor 13:8) I pray daily for Him to fill me up with HIS love, because my own love runs out, but His never does. His love never ceases to amaze me in its work, its grace and its fruit. Be blessed! I pray you find the church God has called YOU to...my husband and I knew the first time we attended Living Word that this was where he was leading US to call "home." You'll know when you're home too...

7/18/2026 Broadway Christian Church's…read more "Frugal Fashion Show " in the Family Life Center. This was a charity fundraiser for the underserved and a fun way to get people together to support a great cause. The event opened and closed with prayer, there was worship singing, small bites and a fabulous Frugal Fashion Show. Models had to spend less than $30 at thrift shops to choose clothing to model. All of that to show fashion doesn't have to be expensive. I captured photos and videos from the show. And not slighting anyone of the models as clearly they showed how nice thrifty can look; I have to say The cutest little girl stole the show. She was spectacular! What a beautiful event for a truly worthy charity. Charity and giving are blessings for those in need but giving brings untold blessing to our heart! Be kind, be loving, be long suffering, Amen.

I called yesterday morning before I attended the service that was advertised on their website. I…read moreattended the Bible study yesterday, in hopes of feeling welcome and just simply study the Bible - surprised? they were. When I walked in, confidently sat down and pulled out my Bible. Just to find out, they weren't even studying the BIBLE. They were studying some other book. I followed suit. I was offered food, thank you SO much. God bless the hands that made the homemade fried rice. That woman is awesome. -the said woman I am talking about, she started speaking. I was listening to her while continuing to HOPE that this would be exactly what "I needed" .... Meanwhile. A man interrupted her VERY loudly and said "well. To the new comers, this is my FRIEND Julie" ..... his wife was sitting right next to him. Anywho. He told us all about Julie and her story. Awesome. I felt a LITTLE comfortable to speak, so I did. Just trying to relate or share? Idk. ..... when they found out a little about me & my background, it was almost as is if all the oxygen in the room had been sucked out CLEAN. By what? ...judgement. I was immediately reminded why I choose to study the Bible alone. "They were given an inch & took a mile" -some might say. (; Needless to say, I could go on about how I sat there and tried to ignore their words or expressions. As if I were some criminal they had just invited into THEIR home. .... Funny I thought I was at church? Gods house. ‍ didn't feel like it to me. With that being said, thank you. For this learning opportunity. Thank you for the food. Thank you for your judgement. I figured you all probably wondered why I came and left, maybe you thought I was homeless and needed free food. please don't stop being kind. Just work on not passing judgement to those here to make the world a better place. Thank you for coming to my ted talk. Don't worry. I prayed for you guys to read this. So I know you will -the girl "from" Tacoma Washington. Wouldn't ya know it, I had to come back on here to make sure ALL of YOU KNOW, how I was hunted down on MY OWN social media & "confronted" by a request from- God knows who (; but let's just say "BCC CHURCH" because I decided to speak honestly and truthfully about my experience. There's an incredible amount of young adults that go to their church which was awesome to see. The reason I give only 3 stars is because of the children's ministry. They were super friendly when I was dropping my 2nd grader off for the first time, but when I picked him up, I was bummed to see him sitting alone and no teachers around him. I was a bit late to get him, because I was talking, but I have served at many churches and no matter how late the parents are, the volunteers do not leave the children. He wasn't the last kid picked up and completely alone, but in the 2nd grade "area" it was just him with no adults. Also when we were walking out, the person I gave my tag too kind of ignored us and when I said thanks and goodbye, she just continued to talk to her friends that were nearby. So in a way I felt like people were kind and friendly, but not as welcoming as I hoped for a first time person. Wanting to try the church again and hopefully it will feel different next time.
