I brought my concerns to the parish priest, but unfortunately, they were not meaningfully addressed. I expected compassion and understanding from a faith community, but instead I left feeling judged, hurt, and excluded.

Pastor Myron's messages were simple with a lot of personal sports stories and analogies, sounding like a little league coach most of the time ("We can all be winners! Go team!") more than a bible teacher preacher. He was an animated speaker... to the point of distraction, bobbing up and down and waving his hands almost continuously. He talked about loving sugar and putting it on his frosted flakes cereal and I don't think he was joking.

Today at Mass, Father Chad put a kneeler for the parishioners to kneel and receive Holy Eucharistic.. I was so happy! Praise God for Father Chad! We only here on earth for a short time to experience life, and to love and worship our Lord. We might as well give all the reverents to our Savor Jesus while we can. He who is blameless and pure and I could not receive him in my unworthy hands. Thanks again Father Chad for working nonstop to help us how to love God more each day. Father Chad has consistently given each family wonderful books about Advent, family etc. Corpus Christi does a great job of blending modern Catholic while embracing some of the very traditional. As a sidenote our children have received a great catechism experience from a young age thru the parish. We have raised four children at our church and all had moved in to Catholic high school. Two of them are now alter servers. If you want to experience a beautiful mass -this is the place to be!! Also if you love music we have one of the best music programs and choirs.

This weekend I was diverted from my usual route to St. Anne's in Gilbert. Get there early if you…read morewant a good parking spot and avoid the small traffic jam into the parking lot. Like many churches in the valley, you're able to see more of the church from its parking lot than from the street. As I walked in, I was struck by two things: the silence and reverence that was occasionally pierced by the scream of a baby and the way in which your eyes are immediately drawn to the center of the sanctuary with a large painted icon of the Good Shepherd. Christ the Good Shepherd is flanked by statues of St. Anne and St. Joachim. The tabernacle is in the traditional place with sanctuary candles burning. The procession started with half of a "platoon" of altar boys. Most people kneel at the communion rail for Holy Communion. There are some EMHC but they're more of an afterthought than an integral part. One comes away with a simple take away of St. Anne's Catholic Church. That this is a crying Church, and one with a good future. As the saying goes, "IF CHILDREN ARE NOT CRYING, THE CHURCH IS DYING".

The pastoral team remembered my name the next week I returned. The Pastor has a sense of humor and the sermons are understandable and applicable. I recommend coming here if you want to grow closer to God and grow closer to the family of God.
